I was recommended him my girl's old vet in Queens who didn't do visits in Manhattan and I cannot begin to say how lucky we are to have found him. I have been to so many vets over the years with my fur babies, some who look at you like a checkbook, to the point of telling me "maybe you should go elsewhere" when her nerves got the best of her (I'm looking at you Animal Medical Center) and others who put the needs of the animal above all else. He not only put my Leia's needs front and center but his care and compassion for the pet's companions, I can't say we're owners, was above and beyond. He gave my girl five more good years of life. Dealt with all my stupid questions and emails with patience and care. And he was here to gently ease her on her way. Anyone who needs a vet to take care of their furbaby. Please reach out to him. You can not find better.

Dr. L. suggested antiacids (tiny dose) and it did the trick!! Of course, just to keep me on my toes, Cookie does still have the very rare upchuck. Dr. L and Henry come here and all is good. What a blessing - no terror stricken rides to the vet. I feel so grateful to him. Emily is the other secret weapon ... she is incredibly kind. I couldn't recommend him more.

She did not rush through and was gentle with our cat and with us. Paws at Peace offers some extras (a paw print and a bit of fur in a little jar) in addition to cremation options. I initially thought these things were silly but I am glad we got them. It was easy to make the arrangements. We called at 8 AM and got a same day appointment. We got a text of the expected time and an update when there was a very slight delay. We got a follow up text the next day, with an offer for grief support. This is a well run organization. They know what they are doing. Best of all, they did not cause any additional grief to what was already a very sad day.

I am so impressed with and grateful for Paws at Peace. My first encounter was Dr. Fragola's article…read moreon their website, "How Do I Know When It's Time to Say Goodbye?"--which hit me straight to the core. At last, I felt seen. Dr. Fragola so thoroughly and empathetically captured the roller coaster I had been on for the past five weeks, and I finally felt certain that it was the right time to end my cat Claudette's suffering. After submitting an online inquiry at night, I received a phone call less than twenty minutes later. From that first conversation through the thoughtful "how are you doing" follow-ups, Paws at Peace's compassion, understanding, and professionalism were authentic and unmistakable. Dr. Jennifer Lander came to our home the next day and could not have been kinder. She was patient, gentle, and genuinely interested in learning about Claudette and her life with us--later reflecting those details in a heartfelt sympathy card. The process was unrushed and deeply respectful. I will always remember the salmon paste she brought as a final treat; Claudette went crazy for it, and it's a fond last memory with our precious girl. This was the hardest moment my husband and I have faced together so far, but Paws at Peace made an unfathomable experience as peaceful as it could possibly be. I am deeply thankful for their care and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I first met Liz last April (2016) when my Boxer became ill. She helped him and myself in many ways. Making his life comfortable in my home with her care. She was able to draw his blood here at home and then drop the vials off to my Veterinarian. This made a huge difference in me having to get my dog in/out of the car etc. Truly she reduced most of the stress. She worked with my Vet so that my boy could have the best of both worlds. She provides IV fluids and acupressure among many other services. Over time Liz has worked with all three of my dogs. Sally Rodriguez Hamm (FurMom)

I HIGHLY recommend her for pet care. Taking a holistic approach to pet health, Liz focuses on your pet and your family...and your individual preferences. She and I worked together on a health plan for my pup. When we first met, my sweet Oakley was given a 2-3 month prognosis. A year and a half later, he was still chasing chipmunks in the yard. I am certain this was very much in part due to Liz's connection with him and her careful and nurturing manner. She's the professional, the rock, the strength, the nurturing...the ONE you need for your pet. You will thank me, I promise.

George's nails had grown so long they were beginning to cut into his pads--something no pet owner ever wants to see. To make matters more difficult, George is absolutely terrified of having his nails cut. It's always been a stressful experience for him. But when I brought him to Pet ER, they immediately put us at ease. They were more than happy to help, took him in right away without an appointment, and had everything done in less than two minutes. To my amazement, George didn't make a single peep--he stood calmly and allowed them to do exactly what they needed to. They even told me he was perfect! I was truly blown away. From the moment we walked in, the level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine care we received was beyond anything I've experienced in a long time. I've been part of the Setauket community for 58 years and have owned and cared for many animals over my lifetime--including horses, goats, donkeys, dogs, and cats. Having worked with countless veterinarians in this area and beyond, I can say with complete confidence that Dr. Azagrar and the entire team at Pet ER stand out in every way. They are not only highly knowledgeable and skilled, but truly compassionate. They take the time to care about you as a person and treat your pet like a valued member of your family--not just another appointment. George was treated like royalty. The staff is kind, attentive, and incredibly respectful. You can feel that they genuinely love what they do, and that makes all the difference. Pet ER has become such an important part of this community. It's exactly what Setauket needed--a place where our pets are treated with the dignity, care, and compassion they deserve. I am overwhelmingly grateful that they chose to establish themselves here and serve our community. If your pet ever needs care, this is the place to go. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
