We hired Jose to put pavers in our back yard. He quoted us the lowest price of 3 estimates. I was…read morehappy with the work overall, but he's not into details to do his best job. He put a retainer strip with stakes where the artificial grass ends and the pavers start. I told him it didn't look like a finished product and sent him pictures of how it looked and how it should look. He finally said that he should've asked me because other people like the strip and I wanted the pavers butted up to the grass. He did offer to send his worker back, but my husband fixed it. It looks a little better but not quite like the picture. I noticed he didn't show up at the end to check the work his workers did. Then there's the issue with my dad who lives next to me to do a 3 x 3 pad of cement. He quoted him $200 for labor plus 3 bags of cement ($10 a bag). Then when they finished my job, his main worker asked me if my dad would want pavers because they had enough left overs from my job. I asked if it would be more money and he said I don't think the boss will charge more, they are your pavers. So they did it! A few days later Jose shows up and says my dad owes him $350. When I asked, why; he said the pavers he used, and I said but those pavers were mine. He said No they are his and we went back and forth. My dad is a 90 year old man and I don't think is right to just raise the price without letting the person know. Jose said to pay him $300 and I still think it's wrong because we paid for the pavers and he discounted the amount from the estimate he gave us. Am I wrong? and Am I too picky?

This review has been long overdue. We began our ADU project in May of 2020 with a local architect…read more He drew up our plans, got them approved by the city, and from there we began the bidding process. We received 6 bids (yes, 6!). We knew it was a big project (1200 sq. ft), likely, the biggest home project we would ever do in our lifetime, and did not want to cut any corners. White Glove Construction was not the cheapest, but we're by far the most responsive and "feel good". I use the words "feel good" because many of our bids felt very casual, almost as if they didn't want the job. This was NOT the case with White Glove! They were always professional and did what they said they were going to do. We had one minor hiccup, which I felt was to be expected considering the size of our project. This hiccup was quickly resolved with a few phone calls and several apologies from Scott and Steve. I would consider ourselves lucky since I've seen a few bad reviews down below. But honestly, even since our project has been completed, Scott will still come by if we have any issues. The issues have been very minor, mostly user error and some education is all it takes... We loved White Glove construction so much, it's almost hard to believe that someone could have so many issues. We loved that Scott allowed, in our contract, for us to perform almost all finishing work. Drywall, flooring, lighting, cabinets, etc. We felt this would save us money and I think we were right. Scott worked with our budget and was honest about what we could actually get for the money we had. Bottom line, Scott knows his stuff. There was even a time the city inspector learned a few things! We were there when Scott, very diplomatically, whipped out the manufacturers recommendation for some piping. Turns out, Scott's work was top notch, and the city inspector gained a new respect for our contractor due to his knowledge. We love White Glove Construction!

DO NOT do business with this person/business, even on a friend referral. Chris Horisk (Most Wanted…read moreConstruction) is a nice guy, but ALWAYS had a story as to why he hadn't shown up. Empty promises to be at the job site, but then didn't show & didn't call. Just like the bad contractor horror stories we've all heard, he started a smaller size project in my home in late May, and by September the job was still not completed. Contrary to common sense, I felt comfortable paying him in advance (based on the referral from a mutual friend), but my checks were cashed and the job left unfinished. I had to hire another contractor who completed what Chris hadn't finished and the job (along with a couple of additional items) were done in a professional manner within one week. Chris has not responded to orders to appear in court so that I can attempt to get my money back, that was basically stolen from me (oh - I also had jewelry and an electronic device "go missing" while he and his workers were alone in my home - no compensation for that either). I don't know how he has managed to stay in business as long as he has, and am pretty sure that the two 2015 positive YELP reviews were submitted by himself or family members.
