    Checking out the test kitchen.
    Pietro M.

If you work or live in the area this is a must try. It is conveniently located in an office building. Parking is no issue. I had the standard 3 piece spicy chicken strip meal and actually enjoyed the spicy flavor which paired well with my favorite honey mustard dipping sauce. You can eat in the kitchen area or outside in the lobby of the office building. The lobby is actually a nice area so consider eating out there. It wasn't really busy so there was no wait to place my order. The lady behind the register was friendly and nice.

Life is busy and if I can get in a quick bite without sacrificing quality and good customer service then I'm sold. This place is it! This place is my fast food dreams come true! I've been here at least 4 times in the past couple of weeks and I devour every dish I get. Their bowls and salads are packed with protein and so much veggie goodness. The flavor profiles of each unique dish is never lacking! Once, I literally had to force myself to stop eating while chomping on the Freekish salad because it was so delicious. My stomach said, "stop eating girl, you're full!", but my tastebuds were saying "don't stop til' you get enough!!" This place man I tell ya!! It does something to me. I don't have one fav. dish here...I have three! I recommend the Korean BBQ Bowl, the Freekish Salad, and the Tuscany Bowl. The fact that they rotate their "specials" keeps things interesting and very tasty! They also have superb customer service. I am one satisfied lady and I will continue to come back for more!

I really need to give credit where credit is due. PDQ does cate to make things right. And it is remarkable how well they keep up with the lunch crowd. Today was a special they have had for a few weeks, chicken Parmesan pizza. And is one you have to add to your "must try" list. And, since my last review I can say the burgers are much more presentable.

Raj recommended I try this place out for lunch and it didn't disappoint. Apparently this is a test testing restaurant for the PDQ franchise. Whenever they want to bring a new item to their menu, they try it here first. Food tastes good. The fries taste like the same hand cut ones you get at Five Guys, just a little smaller. They also have a soda machine just like what you see at the new AMC movie theaters, with every Coke flavor you've ever heard of. Talk about options!

Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza (light oil)

First time ordering a pizza (Chicken Bacon Ranch) from PDQ. I'm not a cheese fan so I should have asked for light cheese (I just put extra ranch on it to drown out the cheese favor). Overall, the pizza was loaded with cheese, lists of chicken and bacon! Not as much ranch but that's okay since they have extra in the condiments areas. Not sure if I would order it again (too much cheese for me) Note: When going during lunch hour beware the line will be long (12:00-12:30), be prepared to wait. However, they do move fast.

When you drive-by you cannot see this restaurant as it is inside an office building. It is a typical café/deli for tenants in the building and in the surrounding buildings BUT it is much more than that. The corporate offices of PDQ are in the building and this restaurant is their R&D and test kitchen. The menu is close to a PDQ restaurant and they also sell WOW Burgers which is a concept for their next restaurant launch. The service is extremely fast, the same as you get in a PDQ, and prices are very reasonable. They are open from 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. If you work nearby or are in the area and want a good quick lunch, this place is for you. The menu includes salads, pizza and milkshakes.

If you love PDQ, then you'll love this place. It's the R&D kitchen for PDQ and WTF (what the fresh). I met my husband for lunch one day. This place is located in an office complex where PDQ's headquarters are located. The menu has some standard PDQ and WTF menu items (burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders) but it also has some trial items too. For instance, the day we were there they had a taco salad, which my husband ordered and it was very good. They also have pizzas. They looked really great and fresh so next time I will try one of those. The menu is about $1.50-$2 cheaper than a PDQ, which makes this place incredibly busy at lunch. We got there around 1145 and by noon there was a line out the door. Definitely a must try if you're a PDQ lover.

Great go-to for a quick take out lunch. It's in the Anchor building off Memorial and easy to find once you know where it is. It's inside the office building in the far corner. Not well signed though. They have a great and varied menu. The specials are always good too. Fast service from a well-oiled team. I like the salads since I'm low carbing, but the bowls are great too. The line may seem long if you come at the height of lunch, but it moves fast. There is also plenty of seating for dine in also.

I heard of the test kitchen in the past but this was my first visit. I have a friend that works in an adjacent building and she suggested that we eat here for lunch. This location is now titled PDQ but it serves food from both PDQ and Wow That's Fresh. The menus are identical to the other restaurants. There are a few specials that were available during my visit that are not standard on the PDQ or WOW menus. I am guessing this is the test kitchen component of the restaurant. During my visit one of the specials was a chicken bowl with black beans, rice, avocado and corn. The prices are the same and not discounted as I was preciously told. This restaurant is convenient for those who work in the area. The selection and quality is the same as the free standing restaurant so there is no need to come here unless you just want to try one of the specials being tested.

We drove over with the biggest PDQ fan I know to check it out. It was a nice surprise and a little different but overall the menu has less to offer than the regular locations. They did have burger, pizzas and tots on the menu for their WOW, That's Fast (WTF) restaurant too but it wasn't anything the stood out. I was really hoping for something a little different. It's in an office building and on a Friday at noon they're really busy. It's a neat offering though if you're in the area.

Always consistently good food and quick service. I enjoy trying the chefs specials and see what new additions they come with in the test kitchen. My go to meal is always the Saucy Bowl with grilled chicken. It's filling and delicious and a pretty healthy option. The dining area offers a wide variety of iced teas and a Coke Freestyle machine. There is even a board room available for reservations for private meetings. My company uses it for an annual department lunch each fall.

The person running the to-go line(s) was very helpful when she heard I was a first timer, and gave me lots of helpful tidbits. I ended up going with the buffalo salad: carrots, celery, romaine, tomatoes, croutons, then sub feta instead of blue cheese, and the spicy buffalo ranch dressing on the side. I topped this was a side order of grilled chicken. I also ordered a single pretzel stick. Food was ready incredibly quickly. I'm used to a chain restaurant I frequent a lot for salads that takes an unusually long time to prepare food, so this blew my mind a little. I did not love the pretzel stick = it had the taste of garlic, which I hate. I did really like the salad though, although I would have preferred all the ingredients to be mixed, instead of sitting on top of the salad. Plenty of toppings though, over a generous portion of lettuce. No ambiance review because from what I gather this a to-go only kind of place, which is a cool and useful concept. I will definitely be back when the salad craving hits.

Dear Mr. Eric Smithers…read more I am writing to share a disappointing experience I had at your New Tampa location. While placing my order, I felt that I was being rushed before I had an opportunity to decide what I wanted. The staff appeared impatient throughout the interaction as I was on the phone with my elderly mother trying to explain the options to her so I may bring her a meal from your popular establishment. When I calmly expressed that I felt I was being rushed and asked for patience, instead of addressing my concern, I was told that i was being rude. The staff were rolling their eyes and purposely ignoring my corrections as I tried to clearly give them my choices. They were also throwing the food in the plates. My concerns were dismissed, rather than acknowledged. They were just silently being nasty by using body language and they were very intentional so that I would be provoked. My plates were pushed to the side while they finished other orders and when I called the server on it. The manager came over and accused me of being rude and became very provoking by gaslighting me, into I being the problem, and instead of helping I was chastised and told that if I did not stop talking my order would not be completed and I will not be served. When I tried to tell the manager that I was not angry and that Im trying to talk loud enough so they can hear the order over loud music and other background noises I was again accused of being rude. I did not cuss or say anything that was disrespectful to any server just begging to finish my meal request so I may pay and leave, the manager proceeded to chastise and berate me in front of other customers and took my plates and threw them away. The situation escalated to the point where I was told that the staff would not continue taking my order. I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. I sir with all do respect am a 53 year old grandmother and a nurse for over 30 years of service. The level of disrespect I received was horrible and instead of protecting the customer the manager encouraged that behavior even when I begged to just finish the order. I understand that restaurants can be busy, and I always try to treat staff respectfully. However, I believe customers should also be treated with patience, courtesy, and should be heard before judgment was made. I hope this incident can be reviewed so that future customers do not have a similar experience. Also my poor mother was on the phone listening to the entire interaction and she agreed that I was not given an opportunity to explain or to finish my order I was dismissed and continuously provoked during that interaction. I would appreciate a response regarding how this matter will be addressed. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Ms. Sakinah Haynes Sent from my iPad
