I visited PDQ Chicken in Westchase (near Costco) and ordered the 5-piece crispy tenders combo with creamy garlic and ranch sauces, a side of Parmesan broccoli, and a large Coke Zero. The drive-thru experience was smooth--ordering at window #1 was quick and the staff member was friendly. After paying $17.18 at the second window, I was asked to park in the mobile pick-up space while they finished preparing the Parmesan broccoli. It was brought out to my car in under five minutes, which I appreciated. Once home, I dug in--the food was fresh and flavorful, especially the tenders and sauces. The Parmesan broccoli and bread were a nice touch too. While I enjoyed the meal overall, the price felt a bit steep for fast casual, so I'm not sure if I'd return regularly. read more

She took our order and hand delivered our meal to our table and then came to check that everything was good or if we needed anything! This location knocks it out the park on all aspects! I had the Buffy Bleu which is my favorite sandwich there !The bread was super fresh and soft and the lettuce was super crisp for the perfect crunch! When it comes to fast food I usually have no expectations but the staff here was Yelp review worthy! I was greeted when I walked in, used a clean restaurant room, and my food was brought to my table rather quickly. Brian noticed my table was a little dirty (it had three crumbs). I have now tried all the vegetable sides and I can say that I am in love with every single one. My son's daycare, JCC North, had a spirit night here, which means 20% of our proceeds would support the Parent Association. I never need an excuse to dine at PDQ, so we were all in. That day, my son had his year and a half doctor's appointment where I was told we should at least attempt to feed him vegetables (apparently the marshmallows from Lucky Charms is not a sustainable diet). I did what any parent would do, order every single vegetable side from PDQ. This meant we tried the parmesan broccoli, zucchini fries, honey mustard cole slaw, and corn. My son only ate fries, but I got to try all the sides and I am in love - there isn't a dud in the bunch. ZUCCHINI FRIES - My favorite and probably the least healthy. It is sooo salty in a good way. The crunch, the breading, what's not to love. I mean, my son was able to distinguish it from actual fries and refused to eat it, but that meant more for me. HONEY MUSTARD COLE SLAW - Where have you been my whole life? This is a great take on cole slaw. I already love honey mustard, so this was a win for me. PARMESAN BROCCOLI - There are huge chunks of actual parmesan. Since the broccoli is hot, it slightly melts for a gooey texture. One of the other moms said her kids love this broccoli. Unfortunately, my son didn't, but I sure did. CORN - The corn has feta cheese and a kick to it. It's not that spicy though, because I can't handle spice, but I really enjoyed this. This is not boring corn and I'd happily order it again. It just happens to be my least favorite because everything else is so incredibly strong. It is always nice when there is a healthy option for fast food even if I didn't go that direction. The 1st advertisement on the door that got me was the spicy Turkey filet sandwich but once inside, I couldn't help but to try the spicy chicken breast. It looked like it was going to compete with the other 3 big named chicken places that mostly only serve chicken. Well, my sandwich had a good flavor and the spicy mayo was similar but honestly not as hot as what I expected from the picture on their menu. The sandwich was definitely fresh and absolutely hot when served. All of the ingredients were fresh. The tomato slice and fresh lettuce were good but made the sandwich a little messy. I did not ike the little metal baskets they served the sandwich in because it didn't look really sanitized and it slipped all over the table. Lose the basket please! The service was super quick, the restaurant was clean and I really liked the hand washing station. Great idea! The freestyle soda machine had so many options for sugar free, caffeine free and juices too. They had dispensers with 3 different fresh brewed tea as well. Although I've never actually eaten in the restaurant, I have ordered food to-go multiple times, and it's always been good. Twice my office has ordered catering through this location, and the orders were perfectly put together, which I really appreciate. We had an assortment of fried chicken tenders, grilled chicken tenders, and salad, and I love that they gave us enough sauces and dressings for everybody. The food tasted extremely fresh, the grilled tenders had plenty of seasoning on them, and the fried tenders were crazy good with their very thin coating of breading on them. One of their specialties is the Yia Yia's Greek salad, and this is the only one I have ever ordered because I love the combination of flavors. The salad is made up of chicken, greens, red bell peppers, marinated cucumbers & tomatoes, kalamata olives, pepperocini, feta, hummus, and pickled onion, and it is delicious. Went to the drive-thru window tonight to order food to take home. No one was at the first window, so I pulled up to the second, where a nice young man was handing food out to a customer. She left, so I pulled up and told him that no one was working the window. He asked if I wanted to order and I responded yes. He said I would have to go around the building again, but a line of cars was behind me, so I asked him why I couldn't just order from him. He didn't say say anything, but instead asked me to come inside to order. It was raining, so I advised him that I wanted to order drive-thru (and he had asked me if I intended to do the same and I advised I wanted to), but he said then I would have to come inside OR go back around the building and re-order with the clerk (who wasn't there the first time I went by). I went to this PDQ for the first time last week. I'm glad I did! I've been to the PDQ in Wesley Chapel as well as the one on North Dale Mabry in Carrollwood. They're all great; but when the food is standardized (in a good way) the differentiating factors are the employees and the environment. The employees were very nice. They were all late high school / early college aged like most restaurants of this type. The environment, though, is what really makes this PDQ stand out from the others. I loved the ceiling with its open beams and exposed air ducts. In general, I don't really consider PDQ 'fast food'. You order at a counter, wait a minute or so and take your own food to your table. However, I definitely feel the quality of the food is a level above your standard 'fast food chain'. The environment is also cleaner and nicer at a PDQ. When I see them on the other side of an intersection from a 'fast food chain' I will pick them every time. This location is no exception. read more

I've eaten at several PDQs around the Tampa Bay area (including the test kitchen) and this is by far the best PDQ restaurant I've found. My wife and I eat here at least once a month and we've rarely had an issue. When we do, the problem is immediately solved for us. We stopped in today for my birthday (I had a coupon for a free meal) and the person at the register kept offering me sweet things on the house "because it's your birthday." My favorite thing at PDQ is the standard crispy chicken sandwich with the Buffy Bleu sauce. I think it's probably the best chicken sandwich in the biz. I like the waffle fries, but I really do miss the tots. PDQ, please bring back the tots. Also, the sweet tea is great because it's sweetened with Stevia so you can drink as much as you want without spiking your blood sugar. Oh and I shouldn't forget to mention the hand washing station in the middle of the store. It's really fun to find a good vantage point and watch people try to figure out how to use the sink. When I went up to order I was met by Wendy J, who was incredibly nice and helpful. She was so great and made me and my boyfriend feel so welcome. Brief overview: PDQ sauce is like bloomin' onion from outback, honey mustard is a nice light yellow and has a good amount of sweet, honey bbq is also a good amount of sweet w the bbq flavor (but not overpowering!) and the ranch is a good texture, not too creamy, with a delicious house recipe. The nuggets are substantial-- each is just a tad bigger than bite size for me and they're seasoned well too. Amazing nuggets. Overall, this is my new favorite chain by a landslide.
