Would you believe they had a 5$ apps option all day everyday! So guess what we had? Mini BBQ nachos and WINGS!! There was so much food for the 2 of use we ended up taking home the wings for a pre-game before we went out later. Bartender was very helpful with out selections of food and beverage. The place was clean and spacious for 1, 2 or a party! We will definitely be up for another visit! See you Soon! read more

I haven't been to Smokey Bones in probably 2 years. There isn't any located anywhere near where I live. While in the area shopping we decided on a big lunch at Smokey Bones figuring dinner would be light. While looking the menu over we noticed several things are different since last time we had eaten here. When the server approached we asked her about doing a combo. I wanted the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and pulled pork combo. I learned from server they no longer offer that combo. She stated that to do that combo it would cost between 5-6 dollars more. I also asked if I could have the center cut of the ribs. I was told no, they don't do that. I hate when you order a half rack of ribs and you basically get 3 edible ribs out of the 6. We all know how the ends are usually burnt and not very good. For an appetizer we ordered a corn bread. It used to be served in a pan. It's now served as 4 mini cornbreads. I actually prefer the cornbread this way. The taste was the same, still delicious. Also, if you don't finish them you can take it home and it's a mini cornbread for later. When my food arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious and the ribs were so tender and falling off the bone. The pulled pork was yummy too as was the sides. Our server was lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to come back when in the area. read more

Had dinner here several times in the last 7 years. The food and service have been very good. There is a large menu of bbq food. Smoked wings, pulled pork, bbq chicken, beef brisket, and "falling off the bone "ribs just to name a few. There are starters like cornbread, Brunswick stew and pork nachos. Several sandwich and burger platters are available. We ordered the cornbread which comes with a delicious flavored butter. Enough for two to share. For our entrees we had the half rack of St Louis ribs with fries and coleslaw. It came with a side of Texas toast. They have a full bar with reasonable pricing. If you make it to dessert try the donuts. . read more

We visited Sat 12:30-1:30 there were about 7 tables taken. Last weekend we visited the Clearwater location and hoped we would experience the same food quality, unfortunately the wings were dry (overcooked) and the $32 Ribs were not worth the hype. *side note they use soybean oil to fry with. read more

I had a great coupon for Smokey Bones... 50% off any entree. So I decided to order a steak here, something I am normally leary of. Turns out that they no longer serve or carry Ribeye... so that was out. Waitress said that the New York Strip is popular... so I ordered that, with a loaded baked potato and a caesar salad. Went with garlic butter on the steak When it arrived... looked pretty good. Steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The only problem it had was a lot of gristle that probably should have been trimmed before cooking. Baked potato was good... as was the caesar salad. Service was excellent... (Thanks Tammy). read more

Stopped by for a quick snack, and surprised by an awesome happy hour. We had the mini nachos and boneless winds...both were super tasty. Disappointed that both of the IPAs they had on tap were empty...but the service at the bar and the food still made it a good stop! read more

Very good BBQ, especially for a chain. Been here a few times and never had to wait for a table. Staff is friendly, food is very good and portions are good. Definitely would recommend. read more

The most absurd place/management. Card system down don't tell anyone seat table after table. Hold your card for 20plus minutes prior to telling us down. Then proceed to tell ya IT working on it Another 15min - again manager without solution but just keep seating people. One adult had to leave to hit ATM while kids and other adult stays behind as still owe the bill. Horrible customer service - and as I stand there continue to see them blind side table after table with we can only take cash. read more

When a place advertises "Buy 12 wings, get 12 free," you expect an actual deal. Instead, the 12 wings you have to buy come out to about twenty-five dollars with tax. After careful consideration with all the extras you get and multiple sauces like 6 of them and thier follow up to your concerns. The happy hours is the best in tampa bay for proces. So I am satisfied I went back. Thank you for following about my concerns. Steve read more

We visited Smokey Bones in Citrus Park and decided to try the Bone Fire, which includes Baby Back Ribs, sirloin, smoked wings, smoked sausage, chicken breast, potato wedges, and grilled peppers and onions. It comes in two sizes: the smaller option ($42.99) feeds 2-3 people, and the larger option ($69.99) is advertised to feed four or more. We ordered the larger Bone Fire but were a bit disappointed with the portion size--it comfortably fed about three adults rather than four. When the platter arrived, the chicken wings varied quite a bit in size, but when we mentioned it to our server, she quickly involved the manager, who brought us one wing to make up for it. There was also a mix-up with our ribs--we requested them with just a dry rub, but they arrived with sauce. Although the staff offered to replace them, we had already finished eating by then. To their credit, they adjusted the check by $10, which we really appreciated. Our server was excellent--friendly, attentive, and checked on us often, which helped balance out the small hiccups with the food. Overall, the service made the experience a positive one, and we would definitely return. As a bonus, you can use the InKind app here and get 20% back to use toward future visits at participating restaurants. read more

My Mom keeps choosing Smokey Bones for when we take people out to dinner, so I can say I have probably dined here four or five times in the last two years, and it gets worse every time. This last time, a Friday night at 6PM was the final straw. We were seated quickly and our servers were very nice. That is the extent of my positive feedback. Having ordered countless meals there where the sugar level was off the charts, I aimed to order something that was 1) hard for the kitchen to screw up and 2) not going to send me into diabetes land. I chose 8 boneless wings with spicy buffalo garlic sauce and sweet potato fries. Husband ordered the appetizer nachos for his main. For beverage, I ordered the sexy margarita. The margarita was supposed to have: "Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Grand Marnier, Monin Margarita Mix, sprinkled with edible gold dust for the win" When it was delivered, it tasted like tequila, water and a splash of sunny D. I saw no evidence of gold dust. Yikes. Complaining about it was not an option, with Mom there and visitors, she would have been mortified. Besides, having been to Smokey bones, I knew this was the norm anyway. The food took a while to come out, and when it did, boy was I surprised. My boneless wings were tiny. Like smaller that MCD's nuggets and mostly breading. The sauce was neither spicy nor garlicky. And my "wings" and fries were stone cold. Like they had been sitting for twenty or more minutes. My husband's nachos, the cheese wasnt even melted in some spots. Like they hadn't baked them at all, just put under the heat lamp and prayed it would do something. I guess he took all the space under the heat lamp, because there wasn't any left for my pitiful meal. Honestly, both dishes were embarrassing. And, the restroom I used was out of TP. This restaurant was never great, but the quality of food and care has plummeted. Since this visit, we have begged Mom to stop going here, and thankfully, she agreed. read more

I used to like Smokey Bones, but this place has gone downhill. My first clue should have been that it was less than half full on a busy Friday night during the Holiday Season when the neighboring restaurants were all full. Given that the dining area was so filthy with sticky bbq stains all over ( including both of our menus) I can imagine how the kitchen must have looked. Much of our food appeared to have been pre-cooked then re-heated. Very disappointing. The wings were good, but expensive. The service was slow. read more

Smokey bones is good for what they offer but there are better BBQ places around Tampa.

Let me start by saying I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the lunch special was until 5:00 pm. But that is where the pleasure ended. First we had to stand at the host stand while he cleaned a booth when there were plenty of clean empty booths, then we were seated at same said booth where the seats were repaired with what appeared to be gorilla tape. But we sat and ordered anyway. Both of us got 1/4 white "smoked" chicken with 2 sides. Food came out so fast made me wonder. The chicken showed no signs of ever spending any kind of time in a smoker or even an oven for that matter. Never coming back again. read more

All you can eat wings!? Umm count me in!!! Came out to try their newest promo and offering of all you can eat wings and it was the perfect date night. We've been here before and the food was spotty although service has always been good. Tonight was an exception! Hubs and I were just so impressed with the food. Walked in and seated, greeted by our waitress (Holly) and order taken! We had a minor hiccup with the promo we had however Holly was amazing and helped communicate between us and the manager. She was so friendly and attentive! Best service by far. We both got the all you can eat wings. I opted for the smoked wings the Bones Way, dusted with their house seasoning and drizzled with sweet bbq glaze. Hubs got the Honey Asian wings. The wings come 8 at a time with choice of dipping sauce which my go to is Ranch. The wings were out in no time for our first round. I'm so glad Holly recommended the smoked with the dry rub. These were so juicy and delicious! Hubs wings had a slight sweet heat to them. He also enjoyed ALOT. We did manage to order 1 more round which we couldn't finish but we were able to take them home and have the next day. Drinks included the Smooth Bourbon Blackberry Lemonade which is made with Maker's Mark Bourbon, Monin Blackberry Puree, fresh lemonade, La Marca Prosecco and hubs drink of choice was the Dirty Shirley and the TIto's Strawberry Lemonade. Drinks were delicious and paired well with our entrees. Highly recommend coming and trying their wings if you've not had before. Or even if you have had before because maybe they're better now. We will definitely be back for more of this goodness!! read more

Have not been to Smokey Bones in a while. Went with the wife for an all you can eat wings promotion (which by the way starts at 8 PM). So we had wings, drinks, and a good time just hanging out. I ended up getting an order of honey hot wings and an order of Korean style wings. Both had a sweet and spicy flavor, but the Korean style were definitely less sweet with a bit more red pepper type of heat. Along with the wings, I had baked beans and corn which were both excellent. I have to admit that I actually liked the food a lot. I did decide to quaff a dirty shirley temple and a Tito's strawberry lemonade, both of which had a decent mix of alcohol for the price. At the end, we ordered a bag of doughnuts to go (and ye we ate them all, and they ere good, especially with the raspberry sauce it came with) Service was very good (shout out to Holly!). She was attentive and kept up with any of our asks. This made the experience ejoyable to just be able to relax, eat, drink, and hang out. Would we come back? Based on the quality of food and service, I would say yes. Should you go too? I think the all you can eat wings deal should make it a YES. Drink and eat all night? I'm in...lol. You should be too. read more

Came in to get take out food for a celebration. Hubby and I headed to the bar for a drink and when my hubby complained about the use of the jigger the waitresses proceeded to insinuate that only a "dive bars" free pour alcohol. Instead of just explaining that it was a restaurant policy, she decided to try to demean us instead. I understand that they have policy but to tell a customer that they must be "dive bar" people she could have handled it differently. Training, training, training. We will never go to that restaurant again! Not a good way to treat customers and educate customers instead of scolding and demeaning them. I hope the food is good. That would be the only redeeming factor. read more

Saw entree BOGO on FB. Could not find online and could not order BOGO online. Called and order 2 - 6 piece wings with different sauces and picked up. Got home the wings were burnt & dry and both 6 piece entrees were in one container without a divider. No blue cheese as they said it wasn't included although it is on an online order. It was as disgusting and will never order take out again. Not the SB I once knew. read more

Well this will be the last last I come. The only reason they allow any dogs and I don't like when dogs are on owners laps when ppl eat at the tables . Why can't owners have their dogs on the floor come on. That dog was not a service dog. The food and service was good but I stop going to restaurants that they allow non service dogs. I just can't sorry. The workers say they don't allow non service dogs but the waiter or hostess don't say anything to the customers so they do allow it. read more

Slow slow slow I hope you have a lot of time when you come here because the service here is turtle slow. Not even a full restaurant by any means and everything takes forever. Had lunch today with a total bill of $78 incl tips. Everything we ordered was terrible. The fried pickles had a heavy crust, the ribs and wings were dry and heavily coated in bbq sauce. My son ordered the brisket grilled cheese, the cheese wasn't all melted and over powered with Bbq sauce. The bathroom was disgusting . I will never return. So for $78 I enjoyed the friendly service, ice tea and a baked potato. When businesses wonder why they have to shut down it's because of things like this. read more

Long wait. Plenty of empty tables. Totally understaffed. No AC. Hopefully the food will be worth the inconvenience.

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon around d 2:30 and there was no wait. It is a very large restaurant and clean. We ordered the cornbread appetizer and it was hot and delicious- the pecan butter was perfect. I got the chili with a baked potato. The bowl of chili was a nice size. It was tasty however some of the brisket chunks were tough/dry. My husband ordered the brisket platter with beans and potato wedges. Some slices of brisket were tender but others were stringy/dry. The potatoes were overcooked on the outside but the inside was soft. The beans were not very hot. Overall it was ok but he wouldn't order it again. My son ordered chicken wings fried. They tasted great. No complaints. He also got fries and said they were good. The variety of barbecue sauces on the table was nice. All were yummy. Our server was friendly and attentive. If we came back we would stick to the appetizers. read more

Went here last night because I didn't want to cook. I haven't been to Smokey Bones for years. This time the restaurant was spacious and had a nice atmosphere. I was ordering takeout so I collected my order and went home. I ordered a rack of ribs baked beans and corn. The ribs were tough and the flavor was less than ideal. The beans and corn were ok but nothing I would return for. The staff were kind and attentive so my issues are not with the staff but with the flavor and lack of tenderness of the food. Im sorry but there is much better bbq in the area. read more

I thought Smokey Bones was ok as a restaurant. Service was good. My to-go order was put in and it was ready within 15 to 20 minutes. The person handling the front of house was nice and friendly and quickly got me my order of food. I got the Chopped Brisket Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Overall, I thought it was alright. For $19, it wasn't amazing. The chopped brisket was alright, but the flavor was drowned out by the bbq sauce. The brisket itself was pretty tender, but there were still some pretty dry bits that were mixed in. Overall, an ok restaurant, but probably not my first choice for bbq. If you want bbq, there's definitely better places to go to. I think if the sandwich was say around $15, I would have rated it slight higher. But for almost $20, I thought it could have been better. read more
