We visited Irish 31 in West Chase around 6:30pm on a weekday, just before happy hour ended at 7pm. As we walked in, we noticed a few patrons already at the bar and a couple of guests seated outside. There was a "Seat Yourself" sign, so we picked a table near the entrance, where a server greeted us promptly. When I asked if happy hour was still on, she confirmed it was, but then she left to attend to other tables. About 10 minutes later, she came back to take our drink order, which felt a bit long but understandable given that she was the only server working that evening. After placing our food order, the wait for our appetizer was about 15 minutes. We got the 17 traditional chicken wings, with a mix of sauces: half with the "Carb Bomb" sauce and half with roasted garlic Parmesan. The wings were decent, but nothing to rave about. The "Carb Bomb" flavor could have been a bit more exciting. The real letdown, though, was the Whiskey Chicken entrée. It was supposed to come with two chicken breasts, but what we received was essentially one chicken breast sliced thinly to look like two. This was honestly pretty disappointing considering the price. The dish just didn't live up to expectations. Despite these hiccups, I do want to give credit to the server, who was working solo and doing her best to handle all the tables. It's clear that she was stretched thin, and I honestly felt bad for her--she was hustling to keep up with everything. Overall, the experience was a bit underwhelming, and I'd probably consider other options next time, especially with the inconsistencies in the food quality. read more

The ambiance was ok. Place is very small inside. Service was good. Food turns out to be really good. Very tasteful and seasoned well. Only issue I would say was that I ordered my burger well done but when it was delivered, it had some pink left in it. You can see it from the picture. The water I did not drink because it had something in it. I'm big on if something is wrong with my food, I don't send it back. But other than those to issues, I would say I will recommend this place. We have been here several times in the past couple of months and very much enjoyed it. The food (Boxty Trio, Shepard's Pie, Pub Nachos, so far) has been great every time. The beers (Yuengling, specifically) are always cold and never skunked. Most of the bartenders are very friendly. The big plus for us is Music Bingo, Trivia, and Live Music nights. My family and I had a great night here eating outside. The patio is dog friendly, which is perfect for the neighborhood. It seems like everyone has a dog! We got the Irish 31 cider to start, and it was great. They also had a lot of beer specials for the football games. It was pretty economical. For our meal, we split the black and blueberry salad and chicken wings. They were both really good! We didn't have room, but I saw a peanut butter pie on their dessert menu, which sounded amazing. We will have to go back soon to try it out. This location of this place is perfect for walking distance from West Park Village. I think this will be a new regular spot we hit whenever we visit my sister at her new apartment. I can't wait to come back and try the turkey pretzel sandwich too! read more

This is a little pub in the Westchase area, it seems to be frequented by a lot of locals - there were big groups of people here that all seemed to know each other. There was a music trivia going on, which was pretty cool - they have a runners meet up and other themed/trivia nights, along with a live music night which is my personal favorite anywhere. We sat at the bar, the manager (Nicole, if I remember correctly?) was super nice and gave us great recommendations - we ordered some light bites, the hummus platter and the mac n cheese bites. My boyfriend ordered a stella and I ordered the strawberry coconut margarita - definitely recommend trying. The hummus was really, really good. Great flavor - it comes with cucumbers and pita bread, both are delicious with the hummus. The mac n cheese bites were also really great, they're made with smoked gouda and bacon, the gouda is a game changer - super yummy! This spot has the expected Irish pub vibes, very upbeat with friendly customers willing to chat. We definitely enjoyed our evening here. read more

Have not been here in years and I regret returning. Nothing to do with food or ambiance, just revoltingly bad service. Important things first. It's an Irish pub that serves some traditional Irish fare and American bar food. A large open air bar with seating indoors and outdoors. Perfect for this time of year and the plethera of large screen tv's make it a natural setting for watching sports. I used to frequent the the place after work for my "Sticks and Stella", my beer and their wonderful hand made zucchini sticks. A lot has changed, it was less busy now during Sunday Football than it was on a regular week night. My favorite snack is no longer served, the once attentive and charasmatic servers are gone, the business like management of yore is missing and a much more lackadaisical atmosphere prevails. The food seems to be more consistent than the business. Awesome wings, great house made chips and even the fries seemed better than store bought. I had the Fish ans Chips which while great in flavor were heavily breaded for one reason...they cut the fish into thin strips instead of filets. More profit in that I imagine but only 1 of the 3 strips had a suitable amount of fish. The other 2 looked the same but were mostly breading. A shame because the flavor was very nice. My wife loved her hummus and chicken wrap with greens, tomato and greek dressing. Now the sad part. A buxom blonde was our server. It began as a tepid and unattentive encounter. As time passed she ignored the table for long periods and waiting to pay the check became somewhat soul crushing. The girl in the table next to me sat around for 20 minutes before they ever spoke to her. When people she was with that sat outside came and asked if she had finished eating, she said that no one had even greeted her yet. She had the same server as I. I had decided on a 15% tip instead of my usual 20-25%. Then when I paid with a $50 bill the girl asked if I wanted change. When I said yes, she was visibly upset that she was not getting the 30% that remaind. She then gave change in a larger bill attempting to force a tip of 25%. No luck, I gave the $2 that remained and left. I do not ever spend this much time regarding service but maybe management would like to know why business has slowed. Who knows, maybe not! read more

My husband suggested that we have happy hour drinks and dinner at Irish 31 one evening after work. I was a little reluctant because I'm not a beer drinker and thought out food might make me feel ill. Well, I'm glad that I went. I enjoyed several glasses of wine and the pub food tasted great and wasn't greasy. I love the outdoor seating and our server was really nice. We have been going to Irish 31 for a while. The last while we have noticed that it is slipping quite a bit. The place doesn't seem very clean. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned and the tables around us were dirty and needed to be wiped down as well. Windows and doors need a GOOD cleaning. If what we can see is dirty.... read more

We made a quick stop for drinks on a Saturday afternoon and it was really good! They have drinks specials everyday (5$smirnoff vodka and etc). Chelsea was our waitress and she was super nice and attentive. All of them were ! They have tvs with sports games, live music on Saturdays and a really nice outdoor seating area. Went here by invitation from a friend of mine. The wife and I had been here one other time and had dinner. This time we were just stopping by for a beer since it was close to closing time. Irish 31 is a great little Irish bar . Plenty of seating inside and out and the food and drinks is exactly what you would expect from a local bar. Saw this a little while back and had to stop in to see what it was like. It is what I would imagine a bar in Ireland to look like. There was a variety of different places to sit either inside or outside. The bartender was amazing. She was so friendly and though we only stopped in for a drink, we ended up placing a to go order of fish and chips since on Mondays they are BOGO. While there we enjoyed their Irish 31 red ale. It was on happy hour, so it was an incredible price at $3.10 a pint, but more than that was the fact that it was a really pleasant red ale to drink. We will definitely be back again soon. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled to write one after the experience I had with a woman bartender. This took place around 3pm today, so hopefully her manager sees this. She had a bow in her hair despite her holiday dressing she was very much, not in the holiday spirit or much of a people person to begin with. She did not provide any form of quality service and was as incredibly cold and rude the whole time. I acknowledge they were short staff; however, the quality of Customer care was the worst I've seen in a while... The mac & cheese balls I had tasted like expired mayonnaise we were sitting there for well over 20 minutes to get our food, then she had an extremely rude tone when I asked for a to go box. The people sitting next to me were also complaining about how rude she was. I called her out on her lack of professionalism, and instead of attempting to make it right; she proceeded to argue with me very passive aggressively and unprofessionally and argue with several others as well when they asked her for items right in front of me. This experience was extremely unacceptable, and nothing did excuse the lack of professionalism we experienced. It also did not make my date very pleasing as both of us were getting sick of her awful attitude and lack of punctuality, as well as lack of accountability for her actions.I do hope that her manager sees this as that level of customer care was 100 percent not OK and I would like others to know about my experience as well. read more

OK so I always talk smack about how I don't have places to eat nearby except for just a few favorites. I actually never tried Irish 31 in all the years that I've lived in Westchase and I feel ashamed. I finally had a lunch date with someone who lived in West Park Village and she recommended Irish 31. The place was pretty empty so I didn't have high hopes. The server there during lunch is extremely pleasant and fun. They also play awesome music and since there was no one around I felt free to just sing alone as I was waiting for my food. On my first lunch date I decided to go for a burger and I got the black and blue without bacon because I was intrigued by the i31 Whiskey Sauce. This burger was gourmet, cooked to perfection and that sauce really set it off! I even got extra sauce on the side because it was so good. I'm not a big fry eater but the french fries were pretty good as well. On my second visit I got the Wings with i31 Whiskey Sauce. Perfection. I also got a harvest salad which did not disappoint. So I do have a new restaurant that I've added to my very short list in Westchase. read more

I asked for a menu and she asked me if I wanted anything, in mid sentence she turned and walked away, because the manager came back. I wanted a drink and had questions about the menu. Meanwhile more screaming. I look behind me and 3 kids ages about 7-12 are sitting on the window ledge and they are screaming, and one child is jumping around . Okay,little babies and toddlers can cry and fuss, these are older children and they are sitting on the window ledge of a business. The bartender has still not come back to me, no need to get the manager he is standing in front of me oblivious. It's okay to ask other patrons to respect your restaurant. I stopped by for lunch, because I noticed some of the Yelp photos of some gorgeous looking Onion Rings. I love the darn things, and am always searching for the best. These looked awesomely good. So when I arrived, I ordered a Black and Bleu burger (medium rare) and asked to sub Onion Rings for the fries. I was told that they no longer have onion rings in this location (although other locations still do). So POO! I said fries will fine! lol! SURPRISE! When they brought my burger out, the manager had also made me some hot, fresh Onion Rings.... I was shocked! But happily so. And they were indeed very good (dipping sauce was excellent also). My waitress/bartender told me she had mentioned my order to her manager... and they helped me out! How many places will do something like that? Burger was really good too... lots of bleu cheese, and very tasty. Fries were spot on too (I ate all of my delicious Onion Rings first, though!) Excellent service, both from my waitress, and from the kitchen and management staff! I was told the Fish and Chips uses the same batter they used on the Onion Rings, so I will be going back soon to try that. Highly recommended... 5 stars! read more

A group of 9 of us from out of town went to Irish 31 after a day of fishing. They were very accommodating to make sure we could sit together at a long table. The environment was fun. It was music trivia night. We did well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals. Fish and chips, shepherds pie, and chicken pot pie were the dishes. The Guiness was tasty. Tried to eat here today for lunch, at about 2 o'clock. Walked in, the place was completely empty. Bartender said sit wherever we'd like, we went and took a seat outside. There was one other table sat outside, who looked like they were finishing up their meal. After about 5 minutes we received menus and placed an order for two waters and asked for a minute before ordering drinks. About 10 minutes pass and waitress comes back with waters. We place an order for two draft beers and didn't order any apps since my favorite "pot bite bites" were no longer seen on the menu. Waitress said she would be right back with beers and we planned on ordering deciding what we wanted. In the mean time the other table outside finished their drinks and left. Time passed.... And passed..... and passed some more..... And after 20 minutes of waiting for two draft beers, and being the only table at the restaurant, both inside and outside on a Saturday. We left. We have tried this restaurant a few times on Wednesday nights. The service was very slow and had to keep going inside to find our waitress. When addressed the concern with the waitress that this happened the last couple of times w we're here, the waitress became defensive, was upset and then had an attitude with us for the rest of the evening. Wednesday nights are trivia night and there never seems to be enough help to address the crowd size. We live in WPV and this is our go to for drinks and casual eats. The food is above average -- which makes it stellar compared to Catch and some of the surrounding restaurants -- and the staff is always nice. (I recommend the chopped salad, fried pickles, and the potato chip nachos.) Decent pricing and nice outdoor seating so we can bring our dog and enjoy the weather and people watching. We had the zucchini sticks as an appetizer and the grilled chicken sandwich with their homemade chips. Both were fantastic! So tasty and they come out fresh and hot. The zucchini sticks are interesting because they are crispy on the outside and squishy on the inside. I would give it a try if you go. They also have alcohol deals every day and all day, as well as additional ones for the specific day of the week. The service is even better. Our server split the check for us no problem and split our sandwich without us having to ask, which was so great because we got our own plate with our own chips at no extra cost. Wonderful! Today my husband and I decided to try the Irish 31 pub in our Westchase neighborhood. What an absolute disaster! First, they were definitely understaffed, so we made exceptions re the service given that the two lone waitresses were considerably overworked. But the food - my boxty - I had one of each kind were bland and there might have been one minute bacon chip in one, maybe a half a teaspoonful of shepherd's pie in the other. Fish and Chips for him - dry overcooked cod - stone cold and I mean without a hint of warmth fries. When we asked for new fries - not a murmur of an apology from the waitress, just a promise of a new portion. We finished eating, asked for the bill, and the promised new portion of hot fries never arrived - you think we got a break on the bill??? - hah! Not worth it. read more

Our first time to hang in this Westchase area. Environment: Amazing atmosphere all around. Super cool place with a variety of small environments/seating to pick from (bar, bar-type communal tables, booths, bar tops, outdoor sitting, outdoor bar sitting looking to the restaurant), which I think calls for us to go back for sure. Service: greeted quite well (forgot our server's name tho), very friendly, extremely helpful with the menu, and on top of treating us well. Sadly her shift ended and the next server seemingly had to take over the whole place (not a big deal, it would've been nice to actually tip her and tell her how well she did), but that's no fault to anyone, just a personal note. Food: We love to snack and share when we go out to get a good feel of the restaurant. We also love things that are original or unique to the place. She recommended the Loaded Boxy. It was fantastic! Recommend for any couple or group to share as an app or side for sure! Drinks: I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was spot on! Great little sipper with the boxy. My wife got a simple coconut rum and cranberry and she loved it as well. I definitely wanna go back to try their signature beer. Entertainment: Happened to show up just before the live music started. Just a single guy with a guitar. He played some medleys with a personal twist ranging from 70's rock to even including 90's hip-hop. Interesting and fun. He was also very aware of his environment, not too loud or intrusive, but inviting and hospitable. Side: We just moved to Tampa, but we've been all over the US and eaten at a million restaurants, and ranging from dive bars to Michelin stars. For what Irish 31 is and designed to be, they're absolutely killing it! Pretty sure we're going to make this a very consistent go-to for date nights! Great place to kick back and enjoy a nice Tampa day. One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor! Although in this case, replace tequila with Bloody Mary and you have my Saturday afternoon. On nice days they open up the doors and windows and turn this restaurant into an indoor/outdoor space. This is particularly useful when watching sports. When they opened the doors, it revealed more TVs! We were here at about 5 p.m. on a Saturday, which isn't usually a busy time for restaurants, but 1. it was a super nice day outside and 2. it was Kentucky Derby day! I'm not sure if number 2. mattered to that many people, but number 1. definitely brought out the neighborhood. By the time we left at about 7 p.m. all the tables outside were taken. The servers here are very nice. Our friends are regulars and it felt like they knew every waitress. Every waitress I interacted with was friendly and efficient. I can't speak to the food, but if you're looking for a fun place to drink, you'll be hard-pressed to find a more fun spot. read more

We just ran up to get some lunch in case all of the restaurants are forced to shut their doors completely. They were even kind enough to give us free Guinness St. Patty's Day T-shirts since they didn't have their anticipated St. Patrick's crowd on 3/17.
