We were actually there back at the end of august when we dropped out our son for college. We went in for a quick lunch after a tiring move in! The restaurant is well decorated with all the military stuff but rustic! It was very nice. It is like a fast food setting. We went up to ordered. And the cashier is friendly and explained to me what is the different options since it is my first time! Food is amazing. I have the brisket sandwiches, others have pulled pork combo with cornbread and fries or Mac& cheese. Overall the brisket is amazing. I like that it has a little fat and it is so tender and juicy! So many meat on that sandwiches it is well worth the money. The pulled pork is very nice too. Fries is good also. They also have different bbq sauces you can try and use for your meat. What is there not to say about this place?! Absolutely fantastic every single time. Nicholas at the counter was so incredibly kind and walked us through the whole menu and was so patient. The ribeye was tender and could be cut with a butter knife. It was seasoned to perfection! The brisket was great but even better with their Texas BBQ sauce! The fries were crispy and fresh. Loved it! My first visit because there's not a location in Plant City???? It would be a gold mine there! Just saying! Nice music playing overhead and even had strawberry shortcake for dessert. Ok, the food is delicious, I had the turkey, my hubs had the pulled pork, both excellent! I tried the collards, and they were so good, and he said the slaw was great too. Cornbread was sweet but not too much and he ate his and mine so I think he liked it. They have a bunch of great sauces on the table to try, all great. A rating of good. I appreciated that the pulled chicken was moist, smoky and wasn't pre-covered in sauce, which is a nice change from most places. However, the sauce options could use some improvement. It was disappointing that the most sides contained meat, limiting options for those who prefer or need meat-free choices. The staff was friendly, which was a plus. One unexpected experience was that the entire restaurant was required to stand for the national anthem, which is apparently played daily at noon. Great place to eat. The food is delicious, service fantastic. Military and first responder friendly, they give discounts. Every day at noon they play the national anthem. It is always clean, I've been here multiple times. I always get the smoked chicken and green beans with bacon. The meals come with corn bread which is also delicious. Mission BBQ is always good. What's keeping me from a five star review on this visit? The sirloin black plate special is! A steak two sides and a drink were $24. The steak itself was properly seasoned, however, is one of the toughest steaks I've had at a restaurant in a long, long time -- it was so tough that the plastic utensils they gave me could barely cut it... Now I do understand this is a barbecue restaurant and not a steak restaurant however, for what they charge for that steak it should be presented properly. As always, the fries and green beans were delicious and the giant drink cup is certainly appreciated! Mission BBQ is still a great place and it remains on my highly recommended list. However, you might want to stick with one of their other choices for protein, including salmon, pulled pork, pulled chicken, turkey, ribs, or sausage. All of those are excellent! read more

My last visit, I enjoyed a brisket sandwich. I'm normally a die-hard pulled pork person, but after talking to Sammy she really convinced me to branch out of my comfort zone and man, am I glad I did! Visited on a Friday for lunch. Party of five celebrating a promotion. Aiden was extremely helpful with ordering, as some of us were new to this restaurant. He later visited our table, along with a member of management to learn if we needed anything. There's plenty of inside seating and the dining room wasn't full. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I like the way the corn bread didn't fall apart when you eat it. It is self service for the most part . The counter girl had attitude but whatever . This was Verna Lee a veteran I met eating at this amazing establishment. In our booth was her picture, such an amazing honor to share a conversation with her. She was from Hawaii also and Korean such a coincidence. The food here was fantastic I had the pulled chicken sandwich and the fries were fantastic, I loved it and wanted more. This place had amazing decor and pictures of many military veterans I can only assume hailed from Florida. I used this location as the caterers for my wedding and it was the best experience! Chelsea was so helpful every step of the way. We had a consultation with her and it was so amazing, we were able to try all of the food and figure out exactly what we wanted. We could also see how the displays would be set up and pick out decorations and signage. We placed our initial order then but were able to update it until a week before the wedding. They were prompt, the services were so friendly, and the food was delicious! We've received so many compliments about our wedding food. We go here frequently but I never thought to write another review. They have a black plate special that changes. It could be a steak, fish, ribs etc. It never disappoints. We were just there and ordered our staple brisket and aa salad with chicken on it. The salad was loaded with chicken, so much I had to take some off to get to the salad part. A good place to eat in the Tampa area According to the web, the Mission Barbeque Brand ..." is an American barbecue restaurant chain based in Glen Burnie, Maryland". Two people (Kraus and Newton) opened the first location on September 11, 2011, as a way to support the military, police, firefighters, and first responders. As of April 2023 there were 95 of these restaurants in the United States. All of the locations that I have been to have the same basic layout. You order and pay at one end of a counter and when your name is called, you pick up your food. The seating is wooden booths around the edge of the inner dining room with tables in the middle. Drinks are a serve-yourself affair right after the counter. First responders and military memorabilia line the walls. Food is served on metal trays and, obviously centers around barbeque. Each table has 6 barbeque sauces to choose from offering a variety of tastes for the customer. The food at this location was delicious. I had fries and a BBQ sandwich with tea. The staff was nice and the dining room and tables were kept clean. The prices are very reasonable for the current economy--definitely a place to visit for a good meal in the area. read more

They are avid supporters for veterans as seen in the decor of the restaurant as well as the opportunity to donate money the veterans by buying a drinking cup. It is conjoined with Keke's Breakfast cafe, so don't be confused. It is on the pricey side for casual bbq (considering I went for lunch and spent $30 for two people on combo meals), but I have been twice and the food and the service has not disappointed me. The portion size is average but satisfactory for me personally. You have two options for the brisket (choose the non-lean option, it tastes way better). You can ask to sample them if you don't trust me. They have 6 BBQ sauces to choose from and a mayo-based/cream sauce (which i liked). The pulled pork sandwich NC style is good stuff. Love it! I've been to a few locations around the country and it's always consistently great service and very good food. We stopped for lunch and I got the Turkey Sandwich. It was piled high with delicious, tender turkey. I tested out a few of the 6 sauces on the table, and flavored it with a zingy one. My wife got the Pulled Chicken sandwich. It was also nicely flavored, and very tender and juicy. We were there at high noon, so we got to participate in the National Anthem.
