Very professional, quick, and intelligent. Solved mystery with electricity in one hour that we were trying to solve for months. Knows latest standards and recommendations. Highly recommend! read more

We contacted Peter to install a Ring Pro on our house because we had determined our existing transformer was inadequate (12V instead of minimum 16V) and we have a place with an older electrical wiring system. He was able to install the upgraded transformer and the actual doorbell while explaining how previous work was done, logic wise. He also fixed an improperly shimmed and mounted electrical outlet before he left after figuring out why the last person set it up crookedly. I would highly recommend Peter for your electrical needs. read more

Peter was great. He gave an estimate and did the job a few days later for exactly what he quoted. His work is very old school. He is clean, meticulous and manages the best scenario for the job you need done. He does not take any short cuts. I am very pleased with his work and would definitely hire him again. Sandi read more

I was really in a pickle! Had a bad experience with another electrician the day before I called this company. He came at the promised time, did the work and gave me a senior discount. Very polite and professional and I could see that he takes pride in his trade. I would recommend this company to anyone without hesitation! The electrician is named Peter and if I could give him 10 stars, I would! read more

Peter was amazing! I shopped around and Peter was the best quote and the most responsive. He was great at communicating the detail of the job and was really fairly priced. He is forever our go to Electrician! I highly recommend him. He came in and installed three new ceiling fans in place of existing light fixtures. He was here for 4 hours, longer than anticipated and his price remain solid! Peter is a one shop man and he is honest! read more

Peter was the best electrician I've worked with in San Mateo. Very professional and through. He installed a new electrical panel that was positioned by a bunch of trees and hard to get to. He also installed a Tesla charger. When PG&E came over to make the switch to the new electrical panel, they said "Wow, the guy who did your electrical really knew what he was doing" It made me feel confident we made the right choice and will continue to use Peter. read more

Peter is amazing! Today, I blew two fuses in our apartment (on THANKSGIVING of all days) and started frantically calling electricians. We were able to reach Peter right as he was finishing a job and he was on our doorstep within 30 minutes. He fixed both fuses and tested all the outlets. He gave his time and services on a national holiday and we are so thankful. Peter saved the day! I can't say enough good things about this experience and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing an electrician in the Peninsula! read more

PDO Electrical Services is definitely the way to go if you need any electrical work done, especially if you need it done quickly! I thought I could change out one bathroom light for a new light. Everything seemed to be going well until I couldn't get the new light to line up correctly. After a good solid 3 hours of working on it, I decided this was beyond my scope of home DIY projects and hopped on Yelp. I found 3 electricians in my neighborhood and reached out to all of them. They all replied, but Peter was able to come the next day and fit perfectly into my schedule. Like everyone else here, he was as much a teacher as he was an electrician. As he went through every step he told me exactly what he was doing, and why. He even made the connecting wires safer with a better connection than they were before. After less than an hour, my light was hung perfectly and I feel like I have the knowledge to tackle my next electrical project. And if I fail (again), at least I know Peter will answer my plea in less than 12 hours! Definitely check out PDO when you need any work done! read more

Peter is a real professional electrician! My GFCI outlet was not installed properly and it affected a few outlets and switches on the same breaker. Peter solved the problem really fast. In the process, he also explained the troubleshooting process very clearly. Highly recommended! read more

We were very disappointed by Peter of PDO Electrical Services. He charged $169 for a "diagnostic" visit during which he offered what turned out to be incorrect speculation about the cause of failure of some connected dimmer switches. After a few days, he sent an e-mail saying that the switch supplier's tech support had told him there was a simple fix that could be done by following a procedure with the dimmer switches. But Peter didn't say in his email what the procedure was. Instead, he told us to call the switch company's tech support. Save your time and money and try someone else. read more

Called up Peter to get some urgent repair work done based on a house inspection report for a purchase of a property. He went beyond the call of duty to change his time schedule. We changed the appointment three (3) times, and yet, he was very professional and willing to make it work. The repairs were done professionally and to satisfaction of the lender. Peter is very professional, honest, and goes beyond what is asked of him to make customers happy. I highly recommend his work and would use him again! read more

Peter is awesome! We asked to install NEMA 14-50 outlet for our EV. Peter responded to us fast, provided quote quickly and performed the installation nicely, and Peter also proposed an optimal route to install the outlet so we saved a lot of $$. The work was so solid, we are now able to charge our EV 10x faster than before. Highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for electrician. Thanks Peter. read more

Initially, I hired Peter to rewire some lights for our dining room, foyer and front door sconce but after he did such a good job, I hired him to tackle all the electrical projects we wanted done which included: installing backyard sconces, installing outdoor outlets, installing an extra 3-way switch, installing recessed lighting, installing a new pendant fixture, and finally troubleshooting some electrical outlets. His prices were very reasonable. Also, there were times we couldn't be home due to our work schedule but we totally trusted him with our house. I'm sure our dog loved the extra company too. read more

I do not usually write reviews, but I had to write this one. Peter is great. * His quote was half of what the other guy was going to charge. * He was able to quickly diagnose the problem with our dining room lights and found an easy fix instead of a costly solution another electrician proposed. * He did some fairly involved electrical work that we've been postponing for years. * He was very thorough in testing the installation. * He was on time and very professional. * He was able to accommodate our schedule and come on a Sunday. read more

Peter, the owner of PDO Electrical Services, is an outstanding professional. During the 2016 Thanksgiving holiday weekend, my circuit breaker panel decided to smoke up like a chimney. Out of all the electricians that I reached out for help (understandably, their offices were closed for the long holiday), only Peter replied back (and quite quickly, I might add). After a few follow-up email messages to describe my situation in more detail, Peter was able to ascertain the problem and promptly fix it on the following Monday. Now that's service! read more

I hired Peter a few months back to install an outlet and overhead lights in my garage workshop area. The house is about 30 years old and upon his inspection of the situation, he noticed that our panel was from Federal Pacific Electric; a company that had built panels which were determined to be unsafe (http://www.ismypanelsafe.com/fpe.aspx). So, given that I wanted to install outlets for power tools, he suggested we update our panel for safety reasons and provided me with some information so that I could look into it myself before agreeing to do so. This was really great because it allowed me to use a third party to validate the need for a replacement versus using fear tactics to get me spend more money. He demonstrated a genuine concern for my needs and safety without trying to up-sell me on anything. Peter installed a new panel, a 4-socket power outlet, light switch and 3 overhead lights in my garage and it all turned out great. He does a very clean, tucked away and smart job. He is a pleasant person to deal with and very communicative. I look forward to hiring Peter again and gladly recommend for your electrical needs. Perhaps equally important as the quality of the job to me, was that he didn't add an arbitrary "Foster City" markup to his prices. His prices were fair and reasonably standard across the board for the same job performed in different areas (naturally there are variables). In both my wife's and my experience, we've had trades professionals try to mark up their pricing when they come to our neighborhood because they assume we're "rich" since we live in Foster City. I've even had two different vendors openly tell me that they do mark up prices "just because they (feel they) can". Naturally, we didn't hire them. There needs to be more professionals like Peter out there. read more

Amazing service! Prompt, polite and very knowledgeable! Peter took the time to respectfully explain the issue with my electricity, which was really nice! He did a great job and I will 100% call him again if needed! read more

Peter is a great electrician. He installed the lights in my backyard. Did a professional clean job. Worked 5 hrs non stop till the job was done. He explained everything clearly and took extra steps to make sure it would last for a long time. I wish I had met him before and used him for my previous projects at home. His estimate and charges were also very reasonable. There is a saying you get what you pay for. In this case you get much more then what you pay for :-). I have already recommended him to few of my friends and neighbors. read more

Peter was fantastic to work with and did A level quality work on a detached home office we had installed in our backyard. His quote was very reasonable, sent on time and he was very creative in figuring out the best way to run an electrical line to the structure from our main box that minimized any additional work. I would absolutely recommend him for any electrical work that you need done. read more

Peter with PDO electrical was great! Very responsive when I was looking to hire someone to fix my Mr. Steam towel warmer. He came, on time, fixed it, cleaned up and not only was everything fixed perfectly but it was as if he was never there. I would highly recommend Peter and I plan on using him again for my future electrical needs. read more

All the reviews below me are absolutely correct! Peter being professional, friendly, detailed orientated, clean, hard working, and most importantly, his pricing is very very fair. I got a guy who quoted me 3x more than Peter, just for coming out (someone in Palo Alto who's company name starts with an "O"). I am not complaining, but just that even from talking to Peter compared to the "O" guy, it felt totally different. Peter was extremely friendly and helpful, while the other one simply think he is probably the only electrician in the area. I have to say, if there is a 6th star, I would rate Peter with a 6 star rating. CALL HIM WITH ALL YOUR ELECTRICITY NEEDS! You will not regret it! read more

Peter installed a new ceiling fan for me. Did an excellent job, very professional. He clearly explained any additional charges that may be incurred in case the previously installed fan was installed substandardly. With the quality of service I received, I have to give him an A+. read more

Great electrician. Installed a ceiling fan for us and helped us fix our flickering lights. Gave us a fair estimate before doing the work, and explained what he was doing, why things were mis-behaving, and preventative steps we could take to keep them from happening again (not an upsell, just like, do this to prevent that type of stuff). Also took care to keep our home clean while he did the work. And just a really pleasant guy. read more

Compatible price, honest, efficient work!

Peter installed recessed light at my place two years back. He did amazing job and very professional.

Peter was very knowledgable, on-time, and fair. He did a fabulous job. I asked him to look at an outlet that hasn't worked since our kitchen remodel, our dishwasher, and microwave. He determined the problems for each. Although I do need a new microwave, his assessment was fair and worth the trip. Would use him again. read more

Simply the best! Responds quickly and answers his phone. Is reasonably priced compared to other well-rated electricians. Does great work and solves problems. Is a joy to work with. Installed wonderful outside lighting for our oak trees, fixed the doorbell (which a previous electrician failed to do), repaired switches. Is beyond responsive, responsible, and knowledgeable. Explains what and why he is doing what he is. Believe the reviews! read more
