PDO electrical services provide NOTHING but the best OF THE BEST! We have used Peter at both of our homes - one in San Mateo where he installed all the electrical work for a hot tub and now in our Belmont home for our various wall outlets. He is so good at what he does!! He is thorough, kind, punctual, responsive, clean and methodical. We really appreciate his attention to details and SAFETY! He makes the house so much safer for our two girls and offers great information for longevity of his work. We couldn't recommend him more! We appreciate you Peter! read more

Outstanding service from Peter, PDO Electrical Services. Peter is a very good communicator, he texted us when he was running late to the scheduled appointment. He was very efficient and explained everything to us while he was installing a new wired doorbell for us. We would recommend him to our neighbors for future electrical work. read more

Peter responded to our Home Depot pro referral project and we are so glad we went with him! He was prompt, professional, and quoted us for a much lower and totally reasonable rate than the other company, which was more than the cost of the stove we got! We needed a new 240V plug added in the kitchen for the induction stove and he was able to stop by the next day we contacted him, and complete the job the following day in one visit. My husband said Peter was knowledgeable, organized, and did a quality job! The stove plugged in and works perfectly! We will definitely be using Peter's services again if we ever need any more electrical work in the future! read more

Peter was very honest man, that did a good job and a fair price. I recommend him and would call on him again if/when needed. read more

I highly suggest Peter for any and all of your electrical needs! We had him come out on 2 different occasions several months apart. First visit was to install an outlet in my laundry closet and another outlet in the junction box (for WiFi routers). Second visit was to install an outlet by the toilet for a bidet. Each time, Peter spent his time explaining the process to reassure me of what he is doing and he is very knowledgeable. Since I was asking a bunch of questions and seemed curious to learn more about electrical work - he even allowed me to try to poke a hole in the outlet box (while supervised). You will be in great hands if you work with Peter! Very punctual, friendly, reasonable prices. read more

Outstanding service from Peter@PDO-Electrical. He implemented newl high voltage line with a sub-panel for a spa 200' away from main panel. And helped with a number of smaller projects within the house. Very knowledgeable, reasonable pricing - great quality overall! read more

Peter is among the best contractors I've ever hired. I've used his services on two occasions now - connecting a hot tub, creating dedicated circuit breakers and wiring/conduits, installing lights, and fixing a doorbell. Peter is quick, has super reasonable pricing, is neat in his work, and everything works perfectly on the first try when he's done (and stays working afterwards). He is straightforward in discussion and provides different options for doing things and the costs for each. Unlike most other contractors who try to cut corners and rip people off, Peter is one of the few that I have been able to trust due to the quality of his work and the way that he conducts himself. read more

Peter is awesome! He updated our electrical panel and installed an ev charger. He was thorough, explained everything clearly to the non-electricians and electricians in the house alike, and provided entertainment to our 7 yr old. He also reduced his price from an initial bid--so he's honest, too! I wish we had more work so we could hire him again! read more

Our smoke/C02 alarms randomly went off last week. We appreciated Peter's prompt response and scheduling. Professional, thorough, and reasonable pricing. read more

Peter did an outstanding job of diagnosing and repairing an outlet that wasn't receiving enough juice. It was hardly straight forward, but Peter persevered and got the job done. He is easy going and highly professional. I cannot recommend his services highly enough! Thanks!! read more

PDO Electric was fast efficient and very knowledgable for a good price. Hired Peter to replace an faulty light dimmer. He was organized (made sure I bought the dimmer before he came) and very efficient. He also checked a fireplace switch, could not repair it, but could recommend where to go to repair it--something that was super helpful. Highly recommend Peter read more

Peter was able to help me out in a pinch. He did a great repair job and also helped me understand the issue and how to avoid it in the future. read more

I usually don't write negative reviews, but I'm compelled to write one after the experience I had with this electrician. We had scheduled some time for Peter to come out and check out the job. Two hours before the appointment I messaged him confirming if he's still coming. He said that someone else took the timeslot because "I asked where you lived and you refused to give me your address." I looked back at my message history thinking I made an honest mistake but there was no indication of that. He originally asked me which city I lived in and I mentioned San Francisco. I then gave him my address and asked him to come by and he mentioned that he is booked for the next two months. In all, I had a very poor experience with Paul. He seemed like a promising electrican given the reviews, but I planned my day around this appointment and he didn't even have the courtesy to cancel with sufficient notice and then said that he's not interested in the job anymore (which was fairly substantial, by the way) read more

I had a Nema 14-30 outlet installed and I was very happy with the service and everything went smoothly. He was very fun to talk to and did a very clean job in a timely manner. The most important thing was he was not one of those folks who charge you 2-3x when they know you're getting the outlet for a Tesla. The price was the best by far among all the electricians I got quotes from. And considering the quality of work, I got great bang for the buck. The negative reviews seem more like misunderstandings and they're not about the quality of the work so I highly recommend him if you're looking for installing an outlet or an EV charger. read more

Great service and timely response! Peter is personable and friendly. I had a job where I needed couple of switches replaced, and he was able to schedule me relatively quickly, and performed the job professionally as well. read more

Hired PDO electrician to repair service panel and run 6 gauge wire to kitchen for 50 amp breaker for radiant heat range. He was very good price, on time, I had to cancel and have him come out the next day and he was fine with that and was very quick, good, professional work, could not be happier with an electrician read more

I seriously hate having to write this review, but this was possibly the worst contractor experience I've had in memory. I had 2 sets of track-lighting in my kitchen that suddenly "died" in a very complex pre-1970's wiring system. I made the mistake of calling PDO who said it would be $149 for the diagnosis, then came over for less than 10 minutes and literally just tapped the system and the light switch to see if the current was flowing and told me he was "positive it was the ballast", assuring me it was just a simple job of switching that out, and telling me if he did any more it would "get expensive". Well...no...total misdiagnosis, but took my money easily enough. I had taken apart the entire system to expose the wiring, then texted him photos to show him it couldn't be the ballast as the system literally had 2 hots in and out (again, very old system). I ended up having to get ANOTHER electrician out (Sepanta Electrical...they are here on Yelp and THIS is who you want to call) who knew exactly what to do. Turned out to be a shorted wire in the transformer box; after that was replaced, he rewired the system to accommodate the newer fixtures; all for just a little more than PDO's price for the misdiagnosis. I texted PDO after, telling Pete what it was; his response was, "yeah...I said it was the transformer..." Nope. if he had taken just a few minutes longer to check the transformer box or even unscrew the lighting system (which is what you expect in a diagnostic) he MAY have found the problem...then again maybe not. I tried to give him an opportunity to make this right, but air-silence, so take this review as a word of warning/caution. read more

Disclaimer: PDO Electrical Services did not work on my project. With that said, Peter came out to look at my project of installing an EV car charger. While at my house, he inadvertently put too much pressure on my irrigation box which caused the pipes to misalign and created a leak. Thank goodness the cutoff switch was nearby, but I am not looking forward to fixing the pipe. To make matters worse, he said he would provide an estimate for my project AND then responded that he would "have to pass" on my project. Overall, I would not reach out to this company again due to lack of situational awareness and follow through. read more

The power in my house went out on a Sunday evening. The houses to either side of me were on, and I had tripped a breaker. I called PDO and they very quickly helped me navigate to the electrical box, and restore the power. The service is great and they'll be my first call the next time I need electrical work. read more

Peter provided excellent service! He was able to troubleshoot & fix the light wiring issue very quickly with very reasonable price. Also he was very patient explaining what was the issue and how he's fixing it. Highly recommend! read more

I'm very pleased with the service provided by Peter of PDO. The outlets in my two bathrooms recently stopped working on a rainy night. On the phone, Peter was very clear in describing the price for him to do an analysis and resolution. He also clearly communicated availability, and was able to come by two days after the call, despite being very busy. There were many possible causes for the nonfunctioning outlets, and during his visit, he tested for many different possible causes, eliminating each possible cause until he found the actual cause. Peter was very honest and explained everything in layman's terms for me. read more

Peter is a real pro. He knows exactly what to do by exploring all options and at the same time a really great guy too. Peter has been out to my house twice replaced several GFCI outlets and is very thorough explains the steps he is following and how he arrived at a solution to fix the problem. He is very generous with his time and provides a very compete quote and probably spends a lot more time that he bills for. Peter is my go too for any type of electrical problem for my house and highly recommend to you as well. read more

Can't say enough great things about Peter/PDO Electrical Services (but I'll try!) --- talk about someone going above and beyond the call of duty! My 'RING Pro' doorbell connection issue was as bizarre and as convoluted as they come (kind of comes with the territory with an older home and older wiring) - but Peter, with his can-do, 'Wiring/transformer..... you've met your match!' attitude got to the bottom of the problem and resolved it....... which involved a lot of crawling around underneath the house and having to make a trip to Millbrae for a more powerful transformer, since it was not available around Menlo Park. Peter IS the professional you want on board to tackle your electrical problems - because he's going to make SURE the problem is resolved, no matter what. ... and if you're thinking about getting a RING doorbell or any of their products that require hard wiring, DO hire Peter for the job (and avoid RING's recommended installer, HelloTech). HelloTech does not have the electrical background to deal with any problems that might potentially arise with RING's hard-wired products. I found that out the hard way. Thank you again, Peter!!! Will definitely contact you again for any electrical issues that might arise in the future. read more

We have used PDO twice to install outdoor outlet. Peter was responsive, showed up on time and complete the job fast. Highly recommend!

Peter is just an amazing electrician. He has done lights under our kitchen cabinets, install a chandelier. front and back lights, added a doorbell to our house and now he is doing our electric panel. Never seen anyone so knowledgeable and c lean. So clean that we cant tell where he has done the work. read more

My internet went out one day and the cable company found a melted coax cable under the electric box. After they took the melted cable away, the house started having a brown out. We called peter at night. He not only picked up the phone but also patiently diagnosed the issue over the phone. Based on his understanding, he thought there was an issue with our neutral and we should call pg&e. Next morning, we called pg&e. They confirmed his theory and were able to resolve the problem. Peter was extremely knowledgeable and patient over the phone. We were worried that there might be an issue with the house, but his explanation was critical to put our minds at ease. Thank you! read more

We were completely satisfied with our installation of 5 lights - high ceiling entry light, bedroom, family room, library, and dining room!! One required the use of a very tall ladder, yet none of the lights were an issue. Professional, knowledgeable and nice, to boot. Would hire again...and in fact, am contacting today for my kitchen island light! read more

Peter came out to re-wire an electric outlet in my garage. He showed up exactly on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and was very conscious about social distancing and mask wearing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Peter has done an incredible job - extremely thorough and detailed, he was able to fix several electrical issues outdoors. He spent extra time to make sure that everything is working properly, and explained his work in detail. He also installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet in our garage - to charge an EV. Perfect installation, great job! It's a no-brainer to call Peter again for any electrical job we might need in future. Highly recommended! read more

Peter was great - professional, timely and informative! I bought an electric car and my garage circuit kept tripping - I contacted Peter, he was very prompt with responses, he came on time, diagnosed the problem, and went to work. Afterwards I had him look at a separate issue and he fixed it in 15 minutes. His prices were reasonable, he was efficient and great! I would highly recommend him! Thank you! read more

Peter is an honest and thoughtful electrician. We had him over a few times for smaller jobs and always appreciated the quality of his work. Recently we spoke with him about an outdoor project where he proposed several good ideas and wanted to make sure the job was done right. We ended up not needing him for this outdoor project, but we appreciated his responsiveness and willingness to help. We will definitely call Peter again the next time we need an electrician. read more

I've never been happier to write a check to someone. I had four recessed lights installed in my living room. I reached out to several electricians, and PDO (Peter) had a significantly lower quote than everyone else. Part of this was because he quoted me only for labor, and requested that I buy my own materials, in the interest of keeping my cost down. Everyone is different, but I prefer buying my own materials, because I don't want to be needlessly charged up. Plus, you get to choose the aesthetic. Peter arrived on time, finished the job exactly when he said he would (4 hours) and charged me the exact amount he had quoted me (notably, no issues came up during my installation). I enjoy talking to tradesmen, so I was in the room the whole time. Peter is VERY easy to talk to, amicable, knowledgable, professional... high marks all around. Additionally, he was very helpful in providing me the information I needed to buy the materials, and let me know whether the items I found would work or not. Importantly, he was also willing to work weekends, while most people are not. I was nervous prior to his arrival because of his low quote and because of the relatively low number of yelp reviews. I'm so happy I picked him, and while talking to him, found out that he has had a long history working on commercial real estate, before transititioning to residential and starting his own business. From watching him, you can tell he is very meticulous about keeping people's homes clean, and happily answers any questions you might have. I HIGHLY recommend using Peter, and will definitely be keeping his number on hand for the next project I have. read more

Peter provided awesome service to fix a partial power outage at our place. He communicates well before the appointment, arrived on time, and is friendly and professional. What we really like is that he explained his diagnose and gave us abandant information on how the circuits work and how to prevent such issues in the future. I even believe he could be a very effective teacher. Furthermore, he offered the best price among all electricians I quoted. I would not hesitate to hire Peter again. read more

Peter was extremely responsive, taking my job right after he finished the one he was working on. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the wiring issue in my garage, and was happy to talk me through and educate me on what went wrong. I would recommend him 100%! read more

I'm so grateful I called PDO and for the man who answered the phone (forgot his name). He walked me petiently through checking the issue before coming out and was able to help me identify the issue (switch not all the way put to the end when resetting) before he came so we were able to fix it without him coming out/ any charge! Super nice man and a kind soul, wish you all the best! read more

I need to preface this review by saying that my project has only begun, but I felt so strongly that Peter is the right man to help me with this job after our initial consult. Only a day after reaching out to him, he spent a whole hour of his afternoon teaching me about roughing-in electrical, and discussing my barely-formed plan. You just don't meet these kinds of professionals anymore. I'm building one of those DIY tiny houses, and the electrical had made me the most nervous throughout the build thus far, so I knew I wanted to go with someone who was professional, but also had a sense of curiosity and creativity when it came to designing a relatively small load system, with some particulars. Peter's knowledge comes from commercial (union) and residential application, so he really knows what he's talking about, and knows the price points for fixtures/applications. Though my electrical journey has only begun, I am confident that I have found a great partner to safely and professionally light up my little house without worry. I can't wait to get started! read more
