I don't know if they build the greatest computers on the planet. If that was the kind of knowledge I could figure out then I could probably build my own computer. So we will have to take that little gem at face value and talk about the things we DO know. First, they build a great computer for a guy like me. Our family uses it for things like storage, taxes, some light gaming, and uses that are becoming more and more outdated. They do it what I believe to be a reasonable price and I have never left unhappy about my purchases. My favorite thing about this store is the customer service. I believe they truly "love you" and take care of the folks spending money here. Friendly from the time you drop off your old door-stop to the time you walk out with it repaired or a new P.C. Other computer shops have been very, very condescending when I admit I have little to no knowledge and ask them to "dumb it down" for me. Not PC Laptops, they chuckle and break it down to the lowest common denominator for me. I like that. PC Laptops has no customer service. If you call the number listed for help they are limited and have little or no control over the stores activities. So if you are not happy with the stores service you have no where else to go. I was unhappy with the keyboard that came with my new PC but there is no exchanging it. I would have to buy a new keyboard myself after just paying for this one. Just bought a new computer there and no one told me about the SuperEasyBackup subscription which renews automatically for $239.40 yearly. Be careful of the charge. Call to cancel. I so wanted to love my experience here. But boy I spent an absurd amount of money for a semi decent computer. Yes it has a life time warranty but I can't tinker and need to bring it in once a year. I guess having the availability of the graphics card I wanted went to my head. Really there are just simply better companies, computers, customer support, pretty much everything. Oh and don't forget the 20% restocking fee. My computer looks decent and is decent but for the cost I could have gotten a much prettier much better computer with no strings attached. From start to finish PC Laptops felt like a used car dealership. I was excited going in the computers look good. They have treats a pretty things up front. When I started speaking to the salesman it felt dirty. the people were nice but kept pushing me to buy more and more until I got to the end. I then had to back track and remove things to get it even more than a thousand over what I initially planned. Then for the purchase and telling me after I paid about the 20% restocking fee. My nearly $4000 dollar computer doesn't have Wi-Fi! The pick up was equally just weird. I just wanted to pick up my computer but he wanted to walk me through all sorts of usage things and to remind me not to tinker... he proceeded to remove items from the dock and all the while doing things I didn't want done I mean what the heck this is my computer leave it alone or let me drive! Let's sign the paper work and gave me a QC check list which apparently means nothing because even on the outside screws were missing parts not put on correctly!!!!!! $4000 probably get a better Dell for $800 Man this is a local company and I really wanted to be super satisfied and it but I loathe it. I regret this terrible purchase. I hate hate hate that I need to return to have them look at my computer even to fix what they didn't do right the first time! read more

I had been unable to unlock my tablet and forgotten the locks code so I went in to PC Laptops. Daniel Krolak greeted me and was very hospitable and told me he could help me reset it. They offered snack and beverages while we waited and ten minutes later had my tablet back to normal again free of charge. I'll try and be concise but I'm very happy and trying to contain my joy may be difficult. It was Christmas Eve, and I needed to clear some space in my office. My bro in law had gifted me his old gaming rig that had a GTX 970 in it. My current graphics cards was a 460. I built this computer way back when StarCraft 2 came out so I could play that game. I'd heard that the 970 would be vastly superior to what I had and handle the game with ease. Earlier in the year I also purchased a 256GB SSD because I also heard that is an exponential speed boost compared to the traditional spinning disk hard drives. I cracked open the computer, removed and installed the 460 graphics card and put in the 970. I removed the spinning disk hard drive and mounted the SSD. Hit the power button, and I got four beeps. Upon looking up the user guide for the motherboard, it was telling me it was a memory error. The problem for me with that is to fix it I would need to order new memory but what if it isn't the memory and it is a problem for the motherboard? At this point, I just wanted to finish my game and wasn't looking to replace a computer! I'm not a total genius, but I could tell that I was stuck and I decided to contact PC Laptops to see if they could help me figure this out. When I called into PC Laptops, I talked to Cody and gave him the same explanation I just gave you. He let me know that they'd be happy to take a look and see what they could do. He asked me to bring in the computer tower and the operating system disk. We made a quick game plan on the phone so that I knew exactly what to bring. I dropped off the computer (December 26th), and I tried my best to have realistic expectations, my processor was a 3rd generation Intel i5, and I'm pretty sure they are on the 8th generation. My computer isn't current some would probably consider it an antique in PC years! I got a phone call on December 27th explaining that they wanted to replace the motherboard. They were going to scour their inventory and see if by chance they had one in their used inventory that would work. If they did have one, it would be very affordable. At the same time, they let me know if I was interested in a new computer we could look at that as well. The offer came across as helpful, not pushy. I decided to go the path of the used motherboard to see if I'd get lucky. Cody explained to me that he expected the motherboard to arrive from their parts depot later in the day if not the next morning. "Sir, your computer is..." Cody gave me a call on December 28th to give me the news. The motherboard transplant had been a success, the GTX 970 was working just fine, and the SSD was now loaded with Windows 10, and my system was ready to pick up. What I loved about this experience was that I was hoping for a specific kind of help. Any place could sell me a new computer and humiliate me for asking to keep a six-year-old computer alive. I've had the computer home for about 14 hours now, I have installed StarCraft 2 and played several missions in the Zerg expansion pack. The PC is so quiet now; the new graphics card must not be as taxed by the game as my previous one. It's a beautiful experience! Took my PC in to have a motherboard and processor installed, I was told 2-3 days. Monday I was told I needed a new liquid cooling system which is fine. Got a status call Wednesday stating the new cooling system HAD BEEN INSTALLED and I'd be good to go Thursday. So I call Thursday and that person told me the new cooling system didn't arrive until 5pm Thursday. So here we are on day 5 and I have no idea when I'll actually be getting my PC back. I would not recommend PC laptops at all. my husband had used them in the past and said that they were great. so I reluctantly agreed to pay WAY more for a laptop for work than I have ever paid because we get "lifetime" service. well, online service is only for 30 days, and i was transitioning between laptops during that first 30 days so I didn't use it much. I need a laptop all day, everyday to work. with the amount of money I spent on it, I should have no problems. however, since I actually started using the computer, I've been told the hard drive is corrupt twice. weve had to take it in multiple times. I need it to work with multiple screens and I have ONE hdmi port (and yes, my husband told them how I use it daily). so we bought an extra docking station to hook up multiple monitors, and can't find one that doesn't glitch out and ruin the computer. we should have went with a a Lenovos like I wanted. It heats Up and the fan kicks on if it's in my laptop bag too long (my Lenovo would sit in the laptop bag for an entire weekend and no problems.) The battery won't last long (even when not in use) if it isn't plugged in, and our only option, without paying more for online service is to keep dropping it off their store (which causes a complete shutdown of my business every time). If are looking for a horn laptop that you don't use daily with multiple monitors, it may work for you. But this laptop is not for daily, all day work use. They didn't even it build it for my business after i sat there and listened to my husband tell them what I need it for and how I use it. Supposedly custom built, but I don't know what custom about it. If I could recommend anything? go with a trusted brand that will give you online service. read more

Well instead of a new laptop. I bought a gaming computer for my brother and we are more than exstatic with the purchase.

I was having issues with a computer I built and I brought it into these guys for one of their free check-ups. During my initial visit, they did various tests and spent a good amount of time trying to diagnose what was wrong. While they couldn't say for sure, they guessed that my motherboard was the issue. As such, I sent my motherboard in for RMA and got a replacement. When I tried rebuilding my PC by myself, I couldn't get my computer to work and I was pretty devastated. I brought my PC back into this shop and they did a PHENOMENAL job figuring out what was wrong. They figured out that I had re-installed a part wrong after literally taking apart nearly every part of my computer. Cody did a great job taking the time to help me figure out what was wrong. He went well above and beyond what I ever thought they would do. As a free examination, I was simply expecting a couple of tests to diagnose what was wrong. But boy was I in store for a great experience. Cody, like I said, took apart nearly every part of my computer to figure out what was wrong. He figured out what was wrong and thoroughly tested his fix to ensure it was working. I was extremely impressed by his drive to figure out the issue and fix it. And it wasn't just the fact that he fixed the issue. Other shops could have fixed it and maybe even I could have fixed it over time. But not only did Cody get it done quickly, he has such a good attitude the entire time. He made it seem like I was the absolute top priority at the time, he cared about me and my computer, and was a very friendly person. I was amazed with my experience there and it was truly one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. What would I do if PC Laptops hadn't taken over Totally Awesome Computer's lifetime service guarantee? I don't know, but I have been going to PC Laptops for the past two years trying to squeeze a few more years out of my 7 year old computer. Now, I'm not sure on the math, but I think that equates to about 110 computer years. I am a little disappointed in my CUSTOMIZED-FOR-ME PC Laptop. I wanted to get a Mac but was convinced this was a better laptop. I make 4 - 8 hour training presentations all the time. I was right in the middle of a presentation and my screen went black. It would not come back on. I had to turn it off and restart. How embarrassing! That has happened more than once. The laptop does not turn off when I shut it down either. I have to physically turn off the power. All my other laptops before would just shut off. The other thing is the battery life. I cannot believe that I only get about 2 hours of battery life while my girlfriend who has a Mac is getting between 4 - 6. I paid over $2000 for this laptop. I am sick! Let's talk about modern day super heroes, shall we? PC Laptops in Riverdale, UT has just that. Bryan Stair and Austin Ross may not have super powers, at least not that I know of, but their strength comes in superb and phenomenal customer service. As soon as I placed the initial phone call about my concerns, Bryan immediately made me feel at ease, unlike some other places where they talk down to customers for being seemingly computer illiterate. The Superstar of the store, at least for me, was their technician, Austin Ross. This guy was friendly and very accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure that my Artemis (yes, I named my desktop that) is taken care of, serviced and working well. He even placed a few calls to touch base with me, let me know the status of the graphics card that's been ordered. Simply put, these guys know what "Customer Service" is, and how to provide excellent service. They did not falter and they certainly did not disappoint.
