So it's 10:30am on a Saturday morning. I'm trying to be a good student by doing my work. Turn on the computer and BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. I do all the typical n00b things like restarting it, blowing out dust, reading the useless manual. Nope. I panic and at this point, am willing to pay for help than wake up my slightly-more-technologically-adept friends, who will presumably sleep till 3pm or later. Using the only source of Internet access I have left, my phone tells me there's a place who will fix my computer within 2 miles of home! Yes! I lug my computer over and Charlie was AWESOME, professional and extremely friendly. He is clearly knowledgeable about computers. He told me what was wrong, fixed it in 20 minutes and made sure I was happy. He even brought my desktop out to my car for me.. The next time my computer has problems (hopefully never of course), I will definitely take it here. i had an issue with my laptop overheating that i had neither the time nor the patience to diagnose or fix - charley and all the other awesome metal-loving dudes at the office were friendly, quick, professional, and explained the issue to me in layman's terms without being a condescending nerd (harder than it sounds when you know stuff about a specific field, especially one in which most people are absolutely lost) also, rebooted my computer to find it fully rebooted to factory settings (pro-style) with geek essentials pre-loaded on there for me (firefox, chrome, winRAR, openoffice, avast), all for an incredibly reasonable price. i will never ever get any of my electronics fixed anywhere else. read more

Called in with a possibly hacked Mac. Dropped off the system to have it fixed for a flat price. Charley is a very professional and knowledgeable repairman. The system is now working perfectly. Note that he is located on the Southwest corner of Lee and Berkshire roads and not in the Tudor building shown in the picture. PC Handyman earns top marks from me. I have never had a computer repair process be so transparent and hassle free. They operate on a pick-up/drop off basis now, so I don't think they have a brick and mortar store. But the pick-up process worked great. The technician (Merrick) called in advance to let me know exactly when he would stop by. When he got to my house he didn't just pick up the computer, rather he spent more than 30 minutes talking with me, looking at the computer and making sure that he knew exactly what the problems were. Merrick said that he would get back to me in 48 hours with what he found. I've heard that before from other repair places and then waited weeks for a call. But PC Handyman called two days later as expected. He had solved most of the problems but said he needed a bit more time to tackle one lingering issue. Three days later that problem was diagnosed. A replacement part was ordered and installed within four days, and my computer was delivered right back to my door at my convenience. When Merrick dropped off the computer, he again took more than 30 minutes to show me what he had done, including uploading some professional-grade software to keep the PC running to its best capacity. I really could not be more pleased with the level of service. For all the work they did, they are also incredibly affordable in my opinion. They were having a problem accepting online payments when I got my computer back, but the technician didn't stress about it. Two days later the owner, Charlie, called and took my payment by phone. He was also very pleasant and easy to work with. Seemed like a nice guy. I am incredibly wary of computer repair businesses after having a few bad experiences in the past. In some ways, I feel like PC repair places can be sort of like auto mechanics--they see someone who is not tech savvy and think they can take them for a ride. This is NOT the case at PC Handyman. They were consummate professionals and always eager to talk about what service was necessary and to admit when a service wasn't necessary. They communicated with me every step of the way. I never felt like I was being talked down to because I don't know technology all that well. Instead, they took the time to explain the process to me. I would highly recommend them! read more

A genuinely nice guy, got me into his schedule right away, identified the problem quickly, and saved me several hundreds of dollars with the fix he found. This is the only place I would consider using for computer help if the need comes up again.
