Due to the size of our kitchen, the estimated project time was 2 & 1/2 weeks. They removed our cabinet doors and drawer fronts and collected a 50% deposit as outlined in the original email. They took the cabinet doors to their warehouse to prep, prime and paint and were planning to return to our house to prep the kitchen the following Monday. They never returned to finish the project - they provided multiple excuses for the delay. This pattern continued for almost three weeks. We provided one more opportunity to complete the project on Oct 10, with stipulations (NOTE - we realized they had not started painting the cabinet doors during this call because Mick asked about paint color, which had been provided to them previously). They did not show up the following day and we terminated the project and requested return of our cabinet doors and deposit. At that time, Claire stopped responding to my numerous attempts to obtain our doors and deposit. Ultimately, we hired a lawyer and received a response from Claire to pick up the cabinet doors after she received a letter from our lawyer. We picked the doors up on Oct 22 and took them to Small Claims Court to obtain our deposit (CAUSE #: 29D04-2312-SC-011524), which was resolved in our favor. Buyer - BEWARE! Additional tip: protect yourself - review Indiana's Home Improvement Contract Act (Indiana Code §§ 24-5-11-1 to -14).

This project stretched out to a month with little work being done. We understand that there was an illness, but communication was inconsistent, with text messages and phone calls repeatedly ignored. We were also told progress was being made on our doors and drawers in their shop over this period of time, which was a lie. We decided to terminate our relationship and when our property was returned, one drawer front was missing. We were told this would be returned to us, but our calls and texts are again being ignored and we are still missing our property. Additionally, when our new contractors reviewed their work, they found the prep work to be insufficient- incomplete sanding, panels were only tacked on instead of being glued and tacked, crown molding was not level. We now have to have all prep work redone. On top of that, when sanding the cabinetry around our refrigerator, their sloppy sanding led to the side of our refrigerator getting sanded. They also left a saw in our dining room plugged in, knowing that we have a young child in our house. We have never dealt with such an unprofessional team and would not recommend them to anyone. Based on our interactions with them and the countless lies and deflections, I am confident they will refute our account as well as attempt to blame us in some way, but I am willing to risk that in order to warn other homeowners.

Their knowledge, skill, precision, punctuality and customer service is top notch. From the beginning to the end of the project they have guided us and have done an immaculate job. We had dark cherry woods to work with and wanted to tone down the color but also allow it to flow with our dark staircase and blend into the new. They aided in finding a match that coordinated and flowed without taking away from the home. It's rare to find the tenacity and quality this company exudes. Typically everything is subcontracted out with most companies which is not the case with Guardian. The owners are hands on and invested in the project just as much their team is. And an added bonus they have a veteran on the team!

We contacted Guardian Flooring Advancements to see what our options would be to have the floors refinished. WOW!!! What a wonderful, amazing job!!! They sanded, stained, and put the final coat on those old hardwood floors. They made those 157 year old floors look practically brand new!!
