Super impressed. I came in (because of their Yelp rating) for a screen repair on my phone. They quoted a price. I agreed. When I came back a short time later, they showed me a "heat warning" warning on the screen and photos of water damage that likely caused it. They quoted me a price to repair it. I told them I that I may opt for an upgrade from my provider instead. They totally concurred. I then told them about my laptop that was having issues. They gave me some advice to fix it myself. This was my 4th or 5th visit to Payless wireless and I've got to say they are the best. I went in with a bad battery in my iPhone 6 and for $35 it was replaced with a new battery. Before I replaced it I would charge my phone to 100% and in the morning it was dead. Now 100 % at night and 99% in the morning. Very shady. Here's my story. I see an add on craigslist to fix my broken iPhone screen for $60. I call and they send me to this shop where I find out its $90. So I offer 80 and he agrees, I didn't feel like driving to another place. Big mistake! So I pick up the phone a few hours later and everything seemed fine but a couple days later I realize the top of the screen isn't sensing touch. A few weeks later I take it back to tell him, and he tries to tell me it's probably a motherboard problem which is ridiculous. So he finally gives in and tells me he will have the tech look at it, which didn't happen that day so I drive all the way back to the shop to weigh my options, and they gave me a loner phone and said they would look at it tomorrow, didn't happen, I got a call from the tech saying he couldn't find anything wrong so I spent 5 minutes telling him the problem and he finally gives in and admits to it, but first he needs to factory restore the phone to see if that works (there gos my jailbreak). Anyway he knows it's messed up so fixes it and the next day I am able to pick it up. So I drive allll the way back again and the shady bastard tries to charge me $40. He said its for the part not the labor. I told him I wasn't paying anything and I shouldn't have to. And he tries to tell me the only way the screen would have had that problem is if I had dropped it. BS. Anyway he let me leave but gave me attitude saying he wouldn't be responsible for the phone anymore. DON'T TRUST THESE SHADY PEOPLE. ANYWAYS, IT TOOK ME 5 TRIPS TO THE STORE TO GET MY PHONE FIXED, AND 3 DAYS WITHOUT THE PHONE. read more

This cell phone repair store in San Diego's college are is very good. Been going here for at least 5-6 years. Same business, same owners, same technicians - and always the best service. I've had them fix a few of my phones, including my iPhone ...shattered screen, screen saver and battery replacement for lower than average prices. They also have lots of different phone accessories like cases and chargers... and authentic Apple accessories for much cheaper than the Apple Store. My Motorola Nexus 6 phone had a worn out micro USB charge port that needed to be replaced. This kind of the repair is not easy and requires microsoldering. The repair technician in the back room did an amazing job. The phone was fixed the same day. They even cleaned the phone free of fingerprints/smudges. Very professionally handled. It was a reasonably priced repair...not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. I'll pay a little more for good work every time. In comparison, some competing shops either didn't work on Motorola phones, needed to look at it first, or wanted to send it out for repair. One shop actually referred me here. My phone went for a swim in the ocean and the repair was more than the standard phone shop could handle. I've been to phone repair shops before and everytime I was treated like crap, the guys fixing the phones screens think they are Gods and that you should bend over backwards before you dare ask them a question or mention that their price is a bit steep. They're always "so busy" they can't even look at you when they talk to you. So for that I had low expectations when I came to Payless Wireless. First they smile at you and look at you when they speak to you, that's was new to me. Then they looked at the damage and quote me a reasonable price, stating that I wouldn't pay anything if they couldn't fix what I needed to be fixed. Well that was new too! The last shop I called before them wanted $150 just to look at the phone! They told me it might take a few days to repair the damage which was fine with me. Well it was faster than expected, they called me the next day saying they recovered my data and put it on a usb drive!! The phone itself was too damaged to be put back in a working condition and I knew this, all I wanted was to get the data if it was possible. They also took time to erase the phone for free, so that I could sell the working parts on ebay and not risk people looking at my data. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! A++ for the service.
