I recently installed vinyl flooring in my small apartment, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The installation process was easy and efficient, and the customer service I received was exceptional. The team was responsive, helpful, and truly went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. I highly recommend this company for anyone lookingto upgrade their flooring options! Tony and his master installer absolutely are one of the best in the town. I'm so glad I didn't go anywhere else. We just finished the install of vinyl floor all over our house. The finished job is beautiful. My wife and I are extremely happy with the result and would highly recommend. Tony was great to guide us through the process, helps us pick the right floor and provide competitive pricing. The installers Jesus and Thomas were also great and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the result. They were really professional, very experienced, super hard working, dedicated and great attention-to-details. read more

Tony and his master installer, Juan, saved me from a Home Depot disaster! Hired Home Depot to install vinyl flooring in my condo. They use only one installer, Carpet Pros in Orange. The crew from Carpet Pros shows up, remove most of my carpet, and refuse to do the job claiming my floor isn't level. So, instead of having my new vinyl flooring installed, I'm living in a condo with mostly concrete floors. I call Tony at Payless Carpet & Tile and he inspects my floor and says it's fine. Tony graciously agrees to install my vinyl flooring. A week later, Juan (Tony's master installer) arrives and gets all the vinyl installed in 1 day. He worked a half day the following day and installed the baseboard. He even moved a lot of furniture. Juan is a master! My vinyl flooring looks amazing! If you need new flooring, call Tony at Payless Carpet & Tile in San Juan Capistrano. Whatever you do, avoid Home Depot! read more

We have worked with Tony 3 times now and his team has done a fantastic job each time. Tony came by to measure our home the day I called him. His estimate was ready the next day, and the job was scheduled after we gave to go ahead. The job started and ended on time and the project remained within budget. Juan, the installer, and his team really took their time, were prompt and courteous, cleaned up each day when they were finished, paid attention to the details, and made sure the job was finished right. The floors look great and when we need help again with any type of flooring, Tony will be the guy. I highly recommend Payless Carpet & Tile. read more

Fred was great with my house projects that I needed to do with my move. He was very helpful and willing to do more than needed when asked. I really appreciate all his hard work. The team of workers he brought were very good workers as well. They did a great job with my flooring, counters, and showers. I appreciate all their hard work. Thanks again to everyone!! I recently had the pleasure of meeting and working with Tony who owns this company. Tony was referred to me by my most excellent handyman. The accolades, as high as they were, were still understated. Tony is a pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable, honest, flexible and sweet. The job consisted of removing stair carpeting and replacing it with vinyl planks. His installers arrived punctually both days. They were very skilled, pleasant and precise. They bent over backwards to make sure I was pleased. Without reservation, I highly recommend this company. read more

What a huge disappointment. My carpet was a little over a year old and I had to go back to the owner to say the carpet was lifting and this is with one person minimally walking in it. The owner sent out someone who stretched it again and now 6 months later it is happening in different areas. Note, these are bedrooms without a lot of traffic. This was a huge investment and not inexpensive carpet. I will end up replacing this carpet which is less than 3 years old but not with this company. read more

Tony's team did a fantastic job with our floors. He has an incredible selection to choose from in the store. He was very prompt coming out to The house to give us an estimate. There were no glitches whatsoever. The guys completed the work on time, we're prompt and courteous. They were neat and detail oriented. Highly recommend. Very competitive pricing. read more

Tony is incredible and Ulysses, his installer, is so skilled! The price was very competitive, Tony called me regularly to check on my satisfaction, and the floors and baseboard look more fantastic than I ever imagined! I've been going back to Payless Carpet & Tile every time I start a renovation project. In the past they have helped with my Kitchen (Countertops and floor tile) and bathrooms (countertops and shower and floor tiles). I have now just finished the largest project to date, putting beautiful hardwood floor all through my house. After getting several quotes for both flooring and install, Tony's was the best and his installer told me why my prep work was going to be so costly. One installer said I didn't need any prep work to give me a low quote but that would have resulted to very uneven floors. It's nice to work with professionals that know what they're talking about. I hope I don't have to do a renovation project anytime soon but when I do I will be going back to this Payless Carpet in Dana point. read more

I had my bathrooms tiled 2 years ago. Tony provided a very good price and the installers he sent did a great job and were very nice gentlemen. I just recarpeted my entire upstairs and went back to Tony. I got a great price and again, quality installation. My two experiences have been nothing but stellar! I highly recommend him. read more

Tony is amazing, not only is he very knowledgeable he is just a good human being. We have utilized Tony for two different installations and he has always exceeded our expectations. read more

This guy is very friendly, gives really good deals. I have refered many people and they are all very pleased. I keep going back because he treats us so well. He is to the point but knows what he is talking about. His installers are on time and work fast, and do a good job. read more

Went back to Tony to carpet the upstairs of our new home. Once again we had an excellent experience. We were in and out of his store in 10 mins. I told him I wanted basic "nothing fancy" carpet. After making a selection we had an appointment for the following week. We received an extremely fair price and cost included removal of old carpet/ padding and labor. We did move all our furniture beforehand, contractors were hardworking and professional. read more

Tony is impatient, loud, easily irritated, and smokes in his dark showroom. I was trying to find flooring, both carpet and tile or planks, but he could not understand that I had to co-ordinate a total budget, for new kitchen and 2 bath remodel, all new appliances, paint, baseboards, etc., so he screamed at me, mocked me, showed total lack of professionalism, then told me to "find someone else". Found a real professional and I couldn't be happier. I would NOT recommend Tony for hire. read more

We had the best experience working with Tony and Payless Carpet & Tile! Tony was a blast to work with, his prices beat everyone else for vinyl tile wood, carpet and baseboards, and he was FAST! It was such a relief as a first time homebuyer to find someone who wasn't trying to take all our money and gave us honest appreciated advice. We couldn't be happier with his work! We've already recommended him to family and friends! Thanks Tony!!! read more

Omgosh!! First of all the estimate was half of what we expected! Second of all, Tony is great!!! I was nervous about having wood "laminate" flooring installed because I always see buckling in laminate flooring. But this flooring looks so good!! I ordered vinyl wood flooring that's water resistant and it looks fabulous! We also ordered cork underneath because it's an upstairs unit! I will use Tony on a regular basis now!!!! read more

I had my whole house done by Payless Carpet in 2008. I also recommended him to my aunt and few friends. I highly recommend his service. I asked for hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, staircase and the hallway. The price was very reasonable and the wood is beautiful. The Brazilian Cherry brings the house to whole new level sophistication and adds gobs of value to the value of the house. For the Kitchen and the door entry I did tiles. They are ordinary. The bedrooms are carpeted by the same company, and while the color has lost it's novelty for me, it's still a great carpet. It's easy to maintain, clean and despite being light colored, it does not get dirty. Tony is incredibly knowledgeable and you would be wise to listen to his recommendation. I wanted cheap carpets, and had I not listened to him, I would have already had to replace carpets. read more

I used Tony to do two jobs, one was redoing the carpet and the other was putting stone in our bathrooms. The man that worked in this carpet store was so incredibly rude. He actually acted crazy and unpredictable which to me was a huge sign to not use them to install our carpet let alone allow them into our house. Be very weary of doing business with them. read more

I cannot sing enough praises about this place. I manage and list for sale several properties and until now did not have a go to guy for flooring. From the minute I walked in, Tony took excellent care of me. He not only dialed me in with carpet & wood flooring, making great recommendations, he got right on my order and installed everything the day before Thanksgiving while I was out of town. Will definitely come back, and most definitely refer to my clients and colleagues. If you want personal, quality service when it comes to flooring, this is definitely the place. Very, very nice and professional man Tony is ! Truly a joy to work with! Prices better than Home Depot and excellent service!

I had my entire house carpeted by Tony in 2003 and was satisfied. 9 years later I was due for a second remodel involving carpet and tile. Tony was initially very helpful and gave me a quote on carpet and tile...sounded good and having already used him in the past, I paid upfront for the job in whole. After reviewing the invoice later at home, I asked Tony if he could breakdown the charges since it was a single dollar amount. He acted annoyed and in fast-speak acknowledged a $50 error in tax. He also made an error in the measurements which resulted in an inflated length of carpet and a higher cost. He was also charging me $75 per box of "the very best" tile which did not cause alarm until I saw the exact same tile on Amazon delivered for $32. He said I was getting the best carpet than anywhere else...turns out he was pushing a polyester, not a nylon. In speaking with Tony about the price of the tile, the tax, and the carpet measurements, he began yelling at me for wasting his time with all these questions. This behavior was typical of someone padding the invoice. Speaking of padding, I asked Tony if I was getting a good pad and he raised his voice with me saying "of course, you think I sell you a bad pad"?! in his thick accent. The reason I asked was because we have 9 month old twins who are falling and I wanted a good pad for them. Every question was met with hostility despite being polite with him. My wife was shocked at how rude he was when asked simple questions. He reminded us of the soup guy on Seinfeld. Do your homework before you buy carpet and steer clear of this guy. I am doing my whole house with Lantern Bay carpet in Dana Point...very friendly, and helpful with product information, and pricing. read more

I used Tony to carpet my entire home 9 years ago and was satisfied. 4 kids later, I was back during a remodel. I paid for carpet and tile upfront in full and trusted Tony as he did our home long ago. However, upon reviewing the invoice, it was not broken down. When I asked questions about the tile, the padding under the carpet, and the amount of carpet needed vs our first job, it was clear that the amount was wrong. When I called Tony to ask about the breakdown, he became rude. He raised his voice with me in front of my daughter when I politely asked about the invoice. My wife was greatly disappointed as well. The bottom line was the invoice was padded...the tax was overcharged by an even $50, the tile was double what it costs online delivered, and the carpet length was overestimated. When I discovered this and inquired, he refused to honor the job...I cannot give any more than a single star as the customer service was rude, invoice was not broken down, and price for job was cealrly padded. I should have done my homework and not paid upfront on an invoice that was not broken down. If you choose Payless, do the math, comparison shop, and then decide. I relied on a previous positive experience with Tony and failed to do my homework first. read more
