I was able to go into the showroom, discuss the color options, choose the carpet, and set the installation time for Tuesday evening at 4:00 PM. The installer arrived right on time at 9:00 AM Wednesday morning and was finished by 2:00 PM that same day. I was especially impressed with Lupe, the installer. He did a wonderful job, vacuumed the room, and completely cleaned up after himself. The whole experience was fast, professional, and easy from start to finish. We added on a 200 sq foot master closet room and originally went to G & A to look at carpeting for the new closet. Not only did Brandon spend a lot of time with us on the carpet (which was a small job), he inquired if there was anything else they could assist with. We quickly learned that G & A does not just specialize in flooring, they provide a wide variety of services. In addition to carpeting, we needed painting, stone for countertops and expanded our project to replacing the tile in our laundry room (a long want on my wish list). I got 5 bids for painting and when combining all the above services, Brandon came in with the most competitive pricing. We went with G & A and are so happy that we did. I never felt like he was trying to upsell us and we felt their prices were very fair. In fact, Brandon offered us options with the stone that were more economical than other brands. Brandon was with us every step of the way! When the tile I picked out for the laundry room was discontinued, he found one very similar which I ended up liking better anyways. When they started the laundry room project, while removing the old baseboards, there was an issue with some of the drywall. Brandon quickly stepped in and had one of his guys perform drywall repair right away so as to not stall the project. They removed and reinstalled the washer/dryer as well. They also updated the 20 year old baseboards to match the rest of the house. All of G & A's laborers that worked in our home were courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Brandon kept us advised every step of the way. I STRONGLY recommend G & A for any home improvement needs you may have and don't forget, they do way more than flooring! I am attaching some photos of the closet where they laid carpeting and installed quartz, the tile & painting in the laundry room and the painting of the living room/foyer where the new closet was built above.

I was shown around by a very nice man (Cesar) and found the perfect tile for our shower. He let me borrow the sample for the weekend which was incredibly helpful. I showed the sample to my wife and she loved it as well. On Monday I went in and purchased the amount of tile my installer recommended. On my excitement of buying I did not read and was not told that all sales are final. After finishing up our shower which by the way came out perfect, I called and asked if I could return one full box for a refund. No was the answer and I was out $75.00 and have a box and half of tiles that will never be used. My suggestion is be very certain of measurements because once you sign the invoice you have cross the road of literally no return. My shower looks fantastic I could not picked a better tile and my installer (FRG Tile Installation) did an excellent job, just be wary of the no return policy so your not overpaying with no option of a refund.

After we paid and left, we received a call saying the product was actually not in stock and would take about a week. Frustrating, but what made it worse was the response we got when we followed up. We spoke with Glenn and explained that had we known, we might have gone elsewhere. His response was essentially that we were free to do so. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I found that surprising and disappointing...there was no effort to retain our business or make things right. We decided to continue with the order since we had already paid. Fast forward about two weeks, and we hadn't received any updates. I called to check in and was told the shipment was still in transit and might arrive by the end of the day. I asked to speak with a manager, and Glenn called me back. To his credit, he acknowledged the earlier interaction and apologized for the delay, but there was still a lack of proactive communication or effort to improve the experience...especially considering we had already, made multiple trips for payment and a partial pickup. Ironically, I received a call just before closing that the rest of the shipment had arrived and would be ready for pickup the next day...but only after I had reached out first. I would still recommend this place for the showroom, selection, and the help we received from Polina. Just be aware that the follow-through and communication may not match that initial experience.

1/21/26 Downstairs floor replacement project…read more Our downstairs flooring only lasted 4 years due to high humidity and no underlayment. When we first installed, the manufacture did not recommend an additional underlayment but the humidity simply killed our vinyl planks. We tried glue, filler and then clear tape. Nothing worked and it was simply terrible in appearance. I reached out to Alan end of last year to report the need of new flooring. He came to check out the areas and agreed it was due to humidity. We chose a new flooring only lasted color and type since our current one was discontinued. We opted for a new water resistant laminate that requires an underlayment which was needed in our case. We got the floors redone 1/21/26. The guys finished in 4.5 days. Good team and workmanship. I felt really bad that we were supposed to move all the little things beforehand and it completely slipped my mind. I thought they would move the furniture from one side of the room to the side but they ended up moving everything out in the garage. Due to all the cutting dust, everything brought out was covered in a layer of dust. I had to clean everything off upon the move back in which was tedious. I wish they would have recommended me to buy some plastic coverings. The half day on Sunday, the guys helped move the pool table back, completed last minute touch ups and re-installed my quartz on the vanity to fit under the mirror. They did a fantastic job and considering they had to reuse my old baseboards, it was nicely preserved for reinstall after the new floors were laid. Despite of the small hiccup with lots of dust on furniture, I was very satisfied with the crew's install. It's so nice to have flat and smooth floors again. As always, Alan visited in person daily to ensure progress, and address any concerns we had. We have been loyal to Alan for many years. I appreciate his continued transparency in business practice. Sean and his crew were amazing. I had a prior company come and measure. They never called me back. I called Sean and he was here the next day. He measured, gave me a quote and set up the job that same visit. His prices are very good. The baseboards were included with the cost of the flooring. His crew came as soon as the supplies were in and writhing a week, we had new wood and carpet throughout the house. The crew was very polite and cleaned up after every day's work. Over the course of nearly a month, Adriana was very patient with me as I mulled over the options - from refinishing the engineered hardwood to considering LVP or laminate. They have lots of samples in store to see in person. Adriana and DM helped me explore all the possibilities, even testing out wood stains, before we ultimate decided that laminate would be the best choice given the color I wanted and our lifestyle. If buying carpeting can be described as a sensational experience, then that's what I had here. At a…read moredifferent store, I found exactly the high-end carpet I wanted and was quoted a doable price at that store. Then after they came out and measured, it almost doubled in price. When I remarked on it, suddenly they were able to reduce the price by $1,500. That was still almost 1,500 more than what they quoted me in the store. So I said thanks but no thanks and went looking elsewhere. The first thing I saw when I walked into Sterling carpet was that exact same brand. The quote I got at the store was roughly the same as the quote given to me by the first store, but after they came out and measured it was actually the price I got! So I paid about half what the first store tried to wrangle out of me. The installers took their time and did a stellar job. Not a nick or a flaw or any noticeable imperfection. This carpet will last a lifetime and beyond cuz I'm kind of old now. If I ever need carpet again I will only have to stop by one place.

She really listened to what I wanted and did not try to sell me something more expensive that I did not want. She was a joy to work with as well. I drove farther to the Irvine store because I heard so many great things about her. She really knows all the lines and will tell it like it is. As for the installers, Ceasar and Vickie did such a great job! They were true perfectionists! They really went above and beyond to make me happy. They asked me little things like which way I wanted the small trim on the edges to go, etc. I really appreciated there attention to details. I wish all my home improvement projects went this easily!

1/21/26 Downstairs floor replacement project…read more Our downstairs flooring only lasted 4 years due to high humidity and no underlayment. When we first installed, the manufacture did not recommend an additional underlayment but the humidity simply killed our vinyl planks. We tried glue, filler and then clear tape. Nothing worked and it was simply terrible in appearance. I reached out to Alan end of last year to report the need of new flooring. He came to check out the areas and agreed it was due to humidity. We chose a new flooring only lasted color and type since our current one was discontinued. We opted for a new water resistant laminate that requires an underlayment which was needed in our case. We got the floors redone 1/21/26. The guys finished in 4.5 days. Good team and workmanship. I felt really bad that we were supposed to move all the little things beforehand and it completely slipped my mind. I thought they would move the furniture from one side of the room to the side but they ended up moving everything out in the garage. Due to all the cutting dust, everything brought out was covered in a layer of dust. I had to clean everything off upon the move back in which was tedious. I wish they would have recommended me to buy some plastic coverings. The half day on Sunday, the guys helped move the pool table back, completed last minute touch ups and re-installed my quartz on the vanity to fit under the mirror. They did a fantastic job and considering they had to reuse my old baseboards, it was nicely preserved for reinstall after the new floors were laid. Despite of the small hiccup with lots of dust on furniture, I was very satisfied with the crew's install. It's so nice to have flat and smooth floors again. As always, Alan visited in person daily to ensure progress, and address any concerns we had. We have been loyal to Alan for many years. I appreciate his continued transparency in business practice. Plus their two big advantages over other vendors is: 1) their quote is all-inclusive - they don't nickle and dime you and what's in your contract is what you get. They even paint and install new baseboards as part of that contract! 2) their one-day turn around time. I couldn't believe that our floors would only take one day to do, but they delivered!! This was a huge benefit for us because we were still living in our home during renos and who wants to be living in an unfinished space for days at a time in dust and yuck. Not me!
