If buying carpeting can be described as a sensational experience, then that's what I had here. At a…read moredifferent store, I found exactly the high-end carpet I wanted and was quoted a doable price at that store. Then after they came out and measured, it almost doubled in price. When I remarked on it, suddenly they were able to reduce the price by $1,500. That was still almost 1,500 more than what they quoted me in the store. So I said thanks but no thanks and went looking elsewhere. The first thing I saw when I walked into Sterling carpet was that exact same brand. The quote I got at the store was roughly the same as the quote given to me by the first store, but after they came out and measured it was actually the price I got! So I paid about half what the first store tried to wrangle out of me. The installers took their time and did a stellar job. Not a nick or a flaw or any noticeable imperfection. This carpet will last a lifetime and beyond cuz I'm kind of old now. If I ever need carpet again I will only have to stop by one place.

I am so happy to have found Brian. I was able to take a few pictures and he had me measure the square feet of the area/room that needed stretching. (The length and width of the entire room, multiply together to get the square feet. Brian got back to me quickly with a fair quote. Based on scheduling, we agreed on Friday morning from 830-9am. He was prompt and polite and showed up on time. I asked him to walk through the areas that needed stretching to make sure the agreed upon quote was still accurate. He got his tools and put booties on his shoes and began to work promptly. Now I know why he had me measure the entire square feet because the "ENTIRE" area needs stretched and not just the part with the bump. Brian is personable and I was able to able to find out that he has been doing carpet since he was 18 years old. He has over 40 years of experience! I was really impressed that he had the tools and knowledge on how to approach each room. I was able to get all the clutter and small stuff off the floor the night before. With his tools, he was able to stretch the carpet without moving too much. Each time I hire anyone to work on my house, I vet their past jobs and see if the customer is happy with the work and to see if it's a professional person devoted to the craft or someone with tools that watched some online videos. Brian is 100% legit. Pure professional, level 1000 mastery. I am so happy with the work that he did. Everything looks so much better. If you need anyone for carpet repair, carpet stretching, or carpet installation, I highly recommend Brian.

Where things fell short was communication and delivery...especially disappointing as this was our first time shopping here. When we placed our order, we specifically asked if the product was in stock and were told that it was. After we paid and left, we received a call saying the product was actually not in stock and would take about a week. Frustrating, but what made it worse was the response we got when we followed up. We spoke with Glenn and explained that had we known, we might have gone elsewhere. His response was essentially that we were free to do so. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I found that surprising and disappointing...there was no effort to retain our business or make things right. We decided to continue with the order since we had already paid. Fast forward about two weeks, and we hadn't received any updates. I called to check in and was told the shipment was still in transit and might arrive by the end of the day. I asked to speak with a manager, and Glenn called me back. To his credit, he acknowledged the earlier interaction and apologized for the delay, but there was still a lack of proactive communication or effort to improve the experience...especially considering we had already, made multiple trips for payment and a partial pickup. Ironically, I received a call just before closing that the rest of the shipment had arrived and would be ready for pickup the next day...but only after I had reached out first. I would still recommend this place for the showroom, selection, and the help we received from Polina. Just be aware that the follow-through and communication may not match that initial experience.

1/21/26 Downstairs floor replacement project…read more Our downstairs flooring only lasted 4 years due to high humidity and no underlayment. When we first installed, the manufacture did not recommend an additional underlayment but the humidity simply killed our vinyl planks. We tried glue, filler and then clear tape. Nothing worked and it was simply terrible in appearance. I reached out to Alan end of last year to report the need of new flooring. He came to check out the areas and agreed it was due to humidity. We chose a new flooring only lasted color and type since our current one was discontinued. We opted for a new water resistant laminate that requires an underlayment which was needed in our case. We got the floors redone 1/21/26. The guys finished in 4.5 days. Good team and workmanship. I felt really bad that we were supposed to move all the little things beforehand and it completely slipped my mind. I thought they would move the furniture from one side of the room to the side but they ended up moving everything out in the garage. Due to all the cutting dust, everything brought out was covered in a layer of dust. I had to clean everything off upon the move back in which was tedious. I wish they would have recommended me to buy some plastic coverings. The half day on Sunday, the guys helped move the pool table back, completed last minute touch ups and re-installed my quartz on the vanity to fit under the mirror. They did a fantastic job and considering they had to reuse my old baseboards, it was nicely preserved for reinstall after the new floors were laid. Despite of the small hiccup with lots of dust on furniture, I was very satisfied with the crew's install. It's so nice to have flat and smooth floors again. As always, Alan visited in person daily to ensure progress, and address any concerns we had. We have been loyal to Alan for many years. I appreciate his continued transparency in business practice. Sean and his crew were amazing. I had a prior company come and measure. They never called me back. I called Sean and he was here the next day. He measured, gave me a quote and set up the job that same visit. His prices are very good. The baseboards were included with the cost of the flooring. His crew came as soon as the supplies were in and writhing a week, we had new wood and carpet throughout the house. The crew was very polite and cleaned up after every day's work. Went to the store and Eric lent us the vinyl plank samples and he came out next day for a estimate. Added the living room after the job had started and that went smoothly. So I said thanks but no thanks and went looking elsewhere. The first thing I saw when I walked into Sterling carpet was that exact same brand. The quote I got at the store was roughly the same as the quote given to me by the first store, but after they came out and measured it was actually the price I got! So I paid about half what the first store tried to wrangle out of me. The installers took their time and did a stellar job. Not a nick or a flaw or any noticeable imperfection. This carpet will last a lifetime and beyond cuz I'm kind of old now. If I ever need carpet again I will only have to stop by one place.

1/21/26 Downstairs floor replacement project…read more Our downstairs flooring only lasted 4 years due to high humidity and no underlayment. When we first installed, the manufacture did not recommend an additional underlayment but the humidity simply killed our vinyl planks. We tried glue, filler and then clear tape. Nothing worked and it was simply terrible in appearance. I reached out to Alan end of last year to report the need of new flooring. He came to check out the areas and agreed it was due to humidity. We chose a new flooring only lasted color and type since our current one was discontinued. We opted for a new water resistant laminate that requires an underlayment which was needed in our case. We got the floors redone 1/21/26. The guys finished in 4.5 days. Good team and workmanship. I felt really bad that we were supposed to move all the little things beforehand and it completely slipped my mind. I thought they would move the furniture from one side of the room to the side but they ended up moving everything out in the garage. Due to all the cutting dust, everything brought out was covered in a layer of dust. I had to clean everything off upon the move back in which was tedious. I wish they would have recommended me to buy some plastic coverings. The half day on Sunday, the guys helped move the pool table back, completed last minute touch ups and re-installed my quartz on the vanity to fit under the mirror. They did a fantastic job and considering they had to reuse my old baseboards, it was nicely preserved for reinstall after the new floors were laid. Despite of the small hiccup with lots of dust on furniture, I was very satisfied with the crew's install. It's so nice to have flat and smooth floors again. As always, Alan visited in person daily to ensure progress, and address any concerns we had. We have been loyal to Alan for many years. I appreciate his continued transparency in business practice.
