We love our new vinyl plank flooring! We had four different flooring materials in our home previously. And the majority was a very dark, distressed walnut hardwood flooring. Now we have a lighter color vinyl plank throughout our house which really made a big difference in the flow and brightness of our small home. Duane's crew was awesome. They worked really hard and they got to our house early and stayed late to finish the job within 3 days. (Including baseboard) Elmer was the lead guy in charge and Lupe and Christian were his main help. Everyone was very friendly and very professional and they did a great job. Be aware that if you have multiple flooring mediums throughout your house, you will probably incur extra charges to fix these different elevations, as they install your new flooring over the existing flooring. Ours ended up costing more $$ than the initial quote due to the extra amount of sanding and self leveling material needed. But, we would definitely recommend and use Rancho Viejo flooring again. read more

We were tired of carpet in our primary bedroom since the rest of the house was hardwood. Fortunately the builder of our home left an extra box of unused hardwood in the garage. So we looked up the manufacturers website and found that Rancho Viejo Flooring was one of their dealers. So we called Rancho Viejo Flooring and talked with Duane on the phone. Duane was very responsive to our inquiry, found out the floor and color we had was still available. Based on our room size he gave us a preliminary estimate of the cost for materials and installation. We had one other quote from a store much further away but his was competitive and we liked doing business with a local small business. We made an appointment with Duane to come out and measure the room to get an exact price. He came out the next day, was very responsive and sent us a text message once he was on his way. We agreed to have them install the floor and he ordered the flooring. He said that once the flooring was in he's showroom, we could schedule the installation. About one week later, we got a call that the flooring had come in. He told us that he had a cancellation and if we were available, the floor could be installed in two days later. We explained that we were heading out of town the day after the scheduled installation, but he assured us that his team would finish the installation in one day. He arranged for the materials to be dropped off a day ahead of time, and he called and texted us throughout the whole process. His team showed up at our home promptly on the morning of the install. The moved all of our furniture out of the room and began working. Since our existing wood floors were 6 years old the color had darkened a bit from the new material. Also since the there was a color variance they suggested that they could either change the direction that the boards were running, or the could pull up a couple of boards where the old hardwood ended and lace in a combination of the old flooring that was saved in the garage with the new flooring to make a better color transition between the old and the new. His crew worked throughout the day removing the carpet, prepping the floor, and installing the new wood floor. They finished the job on time and on budget and moved the furniture back into the room so we could travel the next day. They took away all the old carpet, padding and all the debris and boxes from the installation. They put down tarps and red rosin paper to protect the existing floors in their walkway to the bedroom. We decided it was time for a new couch and love seat in our TV room, but first we had to replace the flooring. Who wants to put in pretty new things on old, worn-out marble flooring? But we didn't know WHO to call(?) Our very good friends just had luxury vinyl flooring installed in their home here in San Clemente, and they recommended Duane from Rancho Viejo Flooring. I looked them up and went down to the shop, but I didn't know that I needed to make an appointment ahead of time! (No one was there.) So I had to try again, and I spoke with a nice gentleman on the phone named Duane and we set it up to meet and see his flooring at his shop in Ladera Ranch. My husband and I saw the choices, and we settled on a very light colored wide plank luxury vinyl floor for the downstairs - and a beautiful gray/beige carpet for the upstairs. We had our stairwell restained and replaced all the spindles from a company known as San Clemente Woodworking. (Another review that I need to write!) Once the stairwell was completed, Duane's crew showed up to install the downstairs flooring first. Duane advised us to get everything up and off the floors, empty drawers and get stuff ready for his hard-working team. We were prepared and Elmer and 3 other men came to do the job. Originally, I have to tell you that we had carpet on one side of the downstairs, and dingy marble on the other side of the downstairs. The carpet had to be removed and the men had to float a new floor since the height was a bit lower than the marble side. They carried out the procedures to assure a level floor - and let me tell you. These men worked very hard, non-stop, until the job was completed! They also installed a beautiful 6 inch high baseboard, which wasn't in the original plan, but due to some mix-up, we installed the 6 inch baseboard and we LOVE it more than our original choice! Gio and Crystal and another man came to caulk and paint the baseboards in two days! They did a professional job all the way around! We had the carpet show up the following day with Luis and his team. Luis has a lot of experience with installations, and before it was taken off his work truck, he asked us to inspect the carpet. It was the wrong one! Duane answered his phone when we called him to report the trouble. He was very professional and wanted to be sure that we got exactly what we wanted, since everything is so expensive these days! It was only a few days of delays and the right carpet arrived the following Wednesday. Luis came and his team of 3 got all the furniture moved outside on our back deck, and they worked so hard to complete the entire upstairs in one day! These men worked very hard and non-stop until the job was done and all the heavy furniture was put back to where it belonged. Our flooring is so beautiful, it's beyond what my husband and I envisioned!!! There was one small problem with a nicked floor upstairs, and Luis came in a day to repair the situation. This is to respond what the business owner's comments below on 7/5/21. Everything he said is a lie! Prior to the installation, the owner did NOT communicate to us or even mention that the bullnosing wasn't going to match with the stairs we picked. He also never brought up any manufacturer rep to to assist with the process of choosing the bullnosing. This was his first wrong-doing. Second, the owner never showed up during the installation process and he never came to check the finished work. His crew was fine, they did what they were asked to I don't blame them. Unlike the owner, they were honest people, they told the owner towards the end of second installation day that they would need to come again next morning to fill the holes on the baseboards because they couldn't finish everything, but the owner just told them to rush and leave without filling up my baseboards which was unbelievable. The owner does not care how much I was unhappy with the bullnoring and why he didn't communicate that to me prior to the installation. I've been trying to get a hold of him and I even visited his shop wanting to find a solution with him but he just keeps ignoring my calls and texts. I never asked for a full replacement of stairs. All I asked was to replace the bullnose as a lot of them have obvious burn marks and they do not look good! His installation crew even told him themselves the bullnoring we have is completely different from the stairs and the owner was supposed to come to my house to take a look himself but he never showed up or showed any good willingness to work with me to find a solution. So what he commented below is just a big lie. I'll be more than happy to communicate with him and work with him on coming up a solution that we both can accept. All he needs to do is pick up the phone and call me back that simple. You got my phone number, you know where I am, if you really care about your customer then you should not ignore them, and at least you should show up to take a look the material yourselves to understand why I am not happy with the result vs. hiding behind the screen and try to defend yourself with a bunch of lies. Do the right things to earn your money! This was a wood floor that they choose in order to attempt to match an already existing wood floor . I am happy to continue to work on coming up with a solution but seems like they are not willing to communicate with me directly but rather post . This has caught me by complete surprise since they loved the quality of the installation and service up to the point of the stairnose issue. I could be happier with the work Duane's team did on my stairs! He quickly responded to my request for an estimate and beat the other prices I was receiving by quite a bit! He was able to schedule the installation for the following weekend which was great! His team arrived on time in the morning and removed the carpet from the stairs, did all the prep work and installed new stair treads and risers. Would NOT recommend at all!! Please do yourself a favor and not use this guy "Duane". As a owner/contractor he didn't even show up to check the installation of the flooring. The biggest problem with him is he did NOT match the material we discussed and agreed! Bullnose and engineering flooring are completely different specs unacceptable. Please see the pictures yourself to understand. Anyone who knows about wood flooring they can tell from the pictures, they don't need any other information! Also this guys Duane is so irresponsible. He does not respond phone calls or text messages, and he even asked his crew to leave the job without finishing the baseboards that I had to fill out holes myself on every single of them! My sister bought a new construction home in Irvine, CA and wasn't sure to go with the builder or an outside contractor for her flooring. My wife and I bought our first property and had about a week to get the old carpets out and put in some new flooring. We got in touch with Duane after a friend recommended him. We are happy we did. He installed amazing looking laminate and got the job done quick. The master bedroom has a large set of closet doors that slide on a rail that goes in the ground. This rail was originally on the carpet and was removed and placed over the laminate during this process. When we went to put the doors back in, they didn't fit! Duane gave us high quality options including baseboards replacements for better pricing then commercially advertised competitors. His showroom had many quality and price range selections and allowed us to see the product in our home at our convenience and time frame. RVF was a complete lifesaver! Duane and his crew came to the rescue even after giving them such short notice about a deadline I needed to meet! My house went thru a terrible slab leak that destroyed my floors. After a few flooring contractors, literally nothing got done with my floors.
