Boarded our 2 dogs a pit mix and a boxer fir 1 week. We reserved a villa with a outside door and Webcam. They boarded in the same kennel so they wouldn't be lonely. By the 2nd day I noticed 1 of their beds was missing so I called and asked about it. They said one of the dogs pooped on the bed and had to be washed and they would put it back. Checked on the the next day both beds were gone! They weren't eating, I noticed they were not acting right either. Went to pick them up and our pit mix had red hot paws with blisters and a fever. We liked the fact that they sent us pictures every day but we had a frustrating experience. We boarded 5 pets and we decided to pick up three of them a day before because they were having "accidents" in the pen. We were told the latest pickup was until 7:00 pm, and we arrived right at 7:00 after communicating our timing. The facility was already closed, and staff refused to release our pets, saying it was "7:01." That level of rigidity was disappointing, especially since we had communicated ahead of time. I started bringing my dog to daycare because she had too much puppy dog energy that a walk just couldn't fix. This was the best decision I could have made for us all. I take her to daycare for a half or full day and she gets to run and play with her besties for hours. The pictures I get everyday are priceless. Took an extended weekend trip and needed boarding for our doodles. The staff were amazing, the facility (under construction) was nice. They had playtime with other "friends" and got Valentines treats. Over a very positive experience for our dogs and us as owners. There was one concern, but not their fault. Before dropping off, one of our doodles ate a sock (it happens!!!). They later threw it up, but I was not contacted timely. They did contact me next day, but not the day it happened. Our Doodle is fine (again, it happens!), the staff were very apologetic in not contacting me asap. Overall, we look forward to our doodles returning. They also have Webcam, you can see you dogs while they play with others. read more

Our dog went missing from there through a gap in the fence. Staff did not notify us when it happened and our dog has not been found. When we were notified we were told he went missing that morning and later it was admitted he went missing earlier after someone saw him and contacted us to let us know they had seen him. read more

I'm giving 3 stars because we dropped off 3 large dogs and we know that can be a lot to handle. One of our dogs has anxiety, which was mentioned during the time I scheduled their reservations for their stay. I gave the "resort" just enough anxiety medication for my dog to have during his week stay. When we picked our pups up, his medication bottle was COMPLETELY empty and he was incredibly drugged up. I also gave the "resort" the correct amount of GrassSaver treats and Dentastix, WITH INSTRUCTIONS on how many to give each dog and how often a day, and our bag came back FULL OF TREATS. The "resort" didn't give our dogs a single treat. They just decided to drug our dogs. They never mentioned to us at pick up how our pups did or anything. I even gave them their toys so they don't get bored and it didn't seem like our pups played with them because there were ZERO teeth marks in their brand new toys. Although there were SO MANY things that went wrong, even with given specific instructions, the people who worked there did help us bring our dogs to the car. Before anyone says anything about "did they know about all of the treats and toys?" YES! I witnessed the receptionist write down the specific instructions and I wrote them down myself. And YES I double checked with the receptionist about my dog having anxiety. We're not even positive if our pups were even given time to play outside or how their behavior was or anything. The people who worked at this place just cared about leaving for their lunch break. I understand it was almost time for your lunch, and you're probably not getting paid enough for what you're doing, but people's pets are their children. The least you could do was give the parents some kind of update or information and to keep up with specific instructions the parents gave. And lastly, when I dropped off my dog that has anxiety he was pre-drugged just to be safe. The receptionist said she would hold onto him while I grabbed the other two dogs out from my car. I asked her if she needed me to put a muzzle on him just to be safe and she snarled at me, shook her head vigorously and said "nah, I'll be fine". I looked at her for reassurance and asked one more time and she "yeah, I'll be fine". I came back with my other two dogs and she was standing there with my anxiety dog, perfectly fine! When my husband picked the dogs up she told him she may need help with the anxiety dog because he snapped at her! Are you kidding me?? Needless to say, we will not recommend this location to our pet loving friends and family. read more

Staff friendly. Facilities were good. Our did suffered a scrape on his nose that bleed a good bit. They did not tell us about for three days and then tried to miss lead us when it occurred. I do not blame them for the injury but the dishonesty of it was the reason for the low stars. read more

I love this place for my baby - English Springer Spaniel. He stayed a week few months back. They took good care of him. Yes, they show pictures on Facebook which is nice. I have a particularly finicky dog. He is half King Charles Cavalier and half Pomeranian. I found these folks here on Yelp and I am so glad I did. When I went in to drop him off he went right to her. He is normally like a cranky 2 year old who only wants its mommy. The atmosphere was very welcoming and I quickly felt he was in good hands. The groomer who comes into the resort is very skilled. My little Orson has not been groomed in a very long time and was beginning to look like Sia. In the picture is before and after. You will notice the definition around his face giving the illusion of defined cheekbones. She went with the high and tight which draws your eye away from his rather portly mid-section. And last but certainly not least his paws... He will not be racing into whoville with a bone in his head not today not ever the groomer has said! Great Job girls! read more

She was knowledgeable and very patient with all my questions. I felt comfortable that I was leaving my baby in good hands. When I got there my dog was shaking she was nervous...well one of the employees got down on the floor and welcomed her in..it was heart warming. Immediately my baby felt at home and went with the worker like they were best friends. While my fur baby vacationed at the resort, she got her hair done and had a pedicure! I started bringing my dog here because one of my previous co-workers recommended it to me. It was slightly cheaper than the other places I took her so I thought why not? My past 2 experiences here were ok. The place is pretty run down but for the price, I kinda expected that. However today, when I went to pick my dog up, as I walked up, I started to smell something unpleasant, and when I stepped through the doors, WOOSH. An incredibly PUNGENT feces/urine smell slapped me in the face. I exclaimed "WHAT IS THAT SMELL" and the receptionists response was "I smell a lot of things". She then said "oh we have a litter of puppies and they poop, then we clean it up, then they poop again". This smell was more than just a little poop. And I would HOPE that of dogs were pooping, they would pick it up immediately. I will NEVER bring my dog here again. Absolutely disgusting. I realize dog places aren't going to smell amazing, but this was absolutely gross. Never again. read more

Although I have boarded my dogs there several times, this time was a bit different. The lady that works at the front desk was not very personable. They are usually very friendly. The reception area smells really bad. It never smelled bad like that 2 years ago. About three days after getting them home, my one dog started sneezing and coughing and now all of them are sick. The last time I was there one of my dog was scratched on the nose. I think that they leave the dogs out in the yard together so sicknesses get spread and such. They did feed them a holiday meal and give them each a stocking with treats in it which was very nice. read more

I wanted so bad to LOVE this place because I had high expectations for it based on all the great reviews but I had an issue with pick up. The issue was such a bummer it ruined my vacation. The same girl (my cousin) who dropped off my dog was NOT allowed to pick her up. 2 days prior to her dropping her off I called to let them know she would be dropping her off and possibly picking her up. I was told that was fine & that there would be no problem. While I am in the middle of the ocean on a cruise my cousin tells me her sister said she was not able to pick up my dog because they would not release her. Well I wasn't about to spend $2 a minute to call to the US to give the ok for my dog to be released when I had already made that arrangement. It was very disappointing and it ruined the rest of my vacation. I will not be using this place again. It's an hour away from my house & it was not worth it to me. My dear beagle is 13 years old. We moved here recently and were SO nervous not having that proverbial word of mouth to rely upon when we needed boarding. I, being the crazy Mom that I am, drove there, scoped it out, and was completely impressed. Drop off was friendly, informative, comforting and well, just all around REAL. The lobby smelled pleasant (and this is a feat, I am sure). There was no aromatic cover-ups that I detected so - clean is clean. Our spoiled child has been with us since he was 9weeks old so he has had uncountable caregiving instances- I can think of only 2-3 that, upon pickup, it was fraudulent and heartbreaking. All others went quite well, and often as we are travelers. So Paws Resort had their hands full. Well... We just picked him up (open on Sundays- YES!) and he was/ is SO stupendously happy!!! I just about melted to the owner who is really really great. As long as we live here, and as long as they keep it up and will have us, he will go nowhere else! My fur babies absolutely love playing AND staying here! Our rambunctious puppy comes in about once a week to play with his furry friends and he really looks forward to going every week. Seriously! If it's been more than 6-7 days he will start following me out our door and jumping into my car because he is ready to play! We also board our dogs here as well. In addition to our larger puppy we have a middle aged small dog and the INDIVIDUAL attention and care our dogs get is great. The puppy gets to play while the older dog gets extra bedding and more snuggle time. The staff is great, very friendly and thorough. They make sure your pet is healthy and up to date on all shots. The Paws Resort is the best! I take Governor there every time I leave town. He has a great time and is so excited when we pull into the parking lot. I take him inside and he knows where to go and heads straight back after saying hello to Harriet. When I come to pick him up, he is so tired and sleeps for a full couple of days afterwards because he has had such a good time. Their guests have so much room to run and play. They keep the small dogs with the small dogs and the big with the big. I feel confident that Governor will be safe and have a great time whenever he goes to vacation at the Resort. The Paws Resort really takes care of their guests and remembers them every time and are excited when I call to make new reservations. They are great with last minute reservations and are very accommodating. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

My two dogs stayed at the Paws Resort for New Year's weekend. The staff and the owner were very friendly and professional, and my dogs settled in comfortably in no time. I loved seeing pics of them playing and having fun on the Paws Resort Facebook page, and they were their usual happy and energetic selves when I picked them up -- no signs of trauma, skittishness, or any other behavioral issues that would lead me to suspect they were treated poorly. I had visited to tour the place before I made the reservation, and that time, the time I dropped them off, and when I picked them up, there were always repeat customers there. We have been using the Paws Resort for about 2 years now for our two dogs anytime we need to leave town and can't bring them with us. Recently we welcomed our first baby to our family and had a couple of last minute, unplanned hospital stays the week leading up to his birthday. The Paws Resort was there for us and more than accommodating to our last minute needs and did everything they could to make sure our fur babies had a place to stay and play. We never have to worry about our pups when they are here because the staff is always amazing and they always come home happy and healthy. One of my other favorite things is that the staff frequently posts photos of the pups at play to their Facebook page so I never have to wonder about how my dogs are doing. We went on a 14 day vacation when our German Shepherd puppy was about 3 months old. We called several boarders and The Paws Resort told us we could come anytime for a tour. We liked that you could just show up and see how things were run. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the animals seemed happy. We decided to go with them. We were very nervous leaving our baby for that long, but the staff made us feel very comfortable. They seemed really excited to be keeping our baby. We really enjoyed seeing the pictures on Facebook while we were on vacation. When we picked up our dog, she seemed well cared for and happy. We have since left our baby there many times. WOW!! Truly a full-service resort for pets!!! My German Shepard has unfortunately been boarded at other kennels and always come home agitated, extremely tired, and had sore paws from the rough concrete. After finding "Paws" and meeting with the owner, Harriet, and her staff. I was completely confident that my Shepard would love it there. Paws' staff showed me their complete facility and I was thoroughly impressed. The other dogs were not constantly barking - they were receiving attention from staff, e.g., getting baths, outside in the nicely furnished play area, or heading out for walks. They actually seemed "happy!" It was easy to tell that Harriet, Janet, and the other employees were genuine animal lovers! When I picked up "my girl" a week later, she was doing great. Once home, she didn't sleep for almost 1 1/2 days as usual after boarding, but was "normal and happy." Most importantly, Paws was a very clean and well-maintained facility and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that has a "member of their family" (cat or dog) and doesn't want to feel 'guilty' about leaving them behind for vacation.
