First off, disclosure: In addition to being my pet-sitter for hire, the owner of Pawsitively Pooches, Lauren, is also a friend of mine. That said, I'm writing about my experiences hiring the company for petsitting, not the owner as my friend. My wife and I have been using Pawsitively Pooches for cat-sitting when we travel for at least the past three years (probably longer). Most of what this company does is dog-focused, but they also provide in-home cat sitting. We have four cats, so we typically hire them to come by twice a day, morning and evening, to check on the cats, feed them, scoop the litter boxes, etc. Over the years we've had service from Lauren (the owner), Dana (who has since left, but who also become a friend) and most recently Brooke. All of them have made sure our cats are well taken care of. Whenever we've had any issues or concerns, Lauren always made sure our minds were put at ease and everything was done right. The real sign of a good pet sitter is that when we come home from travel, our cats' reaction is, "Oh, you're home? That's nice." They're not desperate for attention, because the sitters from Pawsitively Pooches have clearly been taking great care of them, loving on them, etc. I've also talked with Lauren enough about her business to understand how seriously she takes it. She is always on call for her clients and dog walkers. If there's a problem, she owns it and makes sure it's taken care of. When looking for a new dog walker, we called about half a dozen services. PP were the only ones who returned our calls quickly, so at least we knew they were organized. Lauren and two staff members came to visit our home, meet our pups, and take the lay of the land. My husband met with them and felt completely comfortable placing our pups in their care and giving them access to our home. It's been over a year and a half now, and they continue to take good care of our slightly neurotic dogs. They are quite flexible with scheduling, allowing us to cancel or add walks to accommodate our ever-changing work schedules. read more

I found Pawsitively Pooches (Purrs) on google and called them because they were the most affordable. I requested a meet and greet with my cat last minute on a Friday evening because I was leaving town suddenly for a family emergency. I spoke with, Alyssa, who was caring, attentive and happy to help. She set up a meeting first thing the next morning, on a Saturday! The website is user friendly and the online profile is easy to fill out. Each person sent me texts/photos of their visits and even brought in packages. Some of them were not small! They provided me a lockbox for the key to the apartment and offered to water my plants. I felt safe letting this great crew in my home and, from the looks of the photos, my baby loved their company. I have already used them multiple times and they will continue to be my primary cat-sitting service! read more

Pawsitively Pooches has been great to work with. We use their walking services and Tyson (our main walker) and team (Brooke) have been great. I like the daily post-it notes left with how the walks went. If Tyson is not able to make it they have others that cover on the fly. The communication has been great even when we had to make a last moment change. They are great at accommodating our schedule as well and I appreciate it soooooo much. We have a fairly difficult and at time aggressive rescue dog. Finding a dog walker that we felt comfortable with was nerve wracking but Lauren, Sarah, Alyssa, and Kari have all been great! They are super reliable, understand dog behaviors and are able to work with our puppy's quirks, and they are super communicative. I cannot recommend their boarding services enough. I had high hopes for Pawsitively Pooches with their excellent Yelp reviews, but my experience was not great. The dog walkers kept changing and I felt very uncomfortable giving my alarm code out to a new person every month. I also never received my apartment key back, though I was told it would be mailed to me. It's been over a year since I've had them, so maybe service has smoothed out. But I'm looking for a new walker now that I'm moving and I would not return to Pawsitively Pooches. read more

I use Pawsitively Pooches for all of my young (energetic) dog's needs, both for walks when i know we'll be gone for a long day or pet sitting when we're on one of our frequent trips. I always feel confident that my dog is in the best possible hands with Pawsitively Pooches, and he always comes home with his fluffy tail wagging from all the fun he had. I've always had a lot of ease when working with Pawsitively Pooches around my travel schedule and sometimes when i've been away and missing my little pup a lot, i'll get a surprise picture via text or email of my dog having a great time and it always makes me feel better about having had to leave him behind. Due to some health concerns with my dog, I had to quickly change the dog care arrangements I had in place for Kaya, my senior Jack Russell. Lauren was quick to respond to my requests for help. My parents were in need of a dog sitter that would stay at their house so I recommended Pawsitively Pooches after hearing about them from a co-worker. The morning that they were to leave they got a text from the dog sitter asking if he could have people over to their house for a BBQ over the weekend. The question was completely inappropriate and naturally caused a lot of concern about having him in their house. We then had to scramble to find someone that could come and watch the dogs at the last minute. Lauren, the owner, was less than helpful in trying to remedy the situation and help us find a solution. My family's experience with PP was PERFECT! The entire process was simple, transparent, and convenient. Our dogs are small and large(1 each) which can make for a handful. The PP Team had every aspect planned out regarding the care for our pups. We shopped around for over a month in Denver. The price was right on par for the care you get. I would say market value. I love Pawsitively Pooches! I have been using them since we moved to Denver to walk my energetic labrador (1/2 hour walks during the weekdays). They have been very flexible with our busy, changing schedules and are always pleasant and responsive to our texts/calls. I called Nikki at Pawsitively Pooches to get some more information and to set up a meet and greet. She was very friendly and promised to call me back that same day with availability and scheduling. Well, I still haven't heard from her 3 days later. If I can't even count on someone to call me back when trying to earn my business, should I really trust them placing a stranger in my home to care for my dogs?
