The street-side windows were open halfway and the car was parked in a somewhat shaded spot, but the temperatures are going up quickly and this was a potentially dangerous situation on many levels. In addition to the heat, the dog could've easily been stolen. It was super-friendly when I checked up on it. When the owner finally returned to her car our exchange went like this: Me: I walked my dogs past here 45 minutes ago and that dog was in there. That's a long time for a dog to be left alone in a car." Owner:"So?" Me: "You leave a dog in a car for over 45 minutes and that's all you can say?" Owner: "He's fine!" Me: "Yes, I can see that." Owner: "He's my dog." Me: "He's a beautiful dog and he shouldn't be left in the car that long. And when it's your business to take care of dogs, this looks really bad." And I want to also note that after the above conversation, the owner drove off. No explanation, no story of extenuating circumstances, nothing.

One of my greatest fears has been trusting the safety of my dog with a dog walker. I have had some…read moreawful experiences. Previous walkers have returned my previous dog with injuries. They have taken her in their car to some other location to hike without asking me. They have flaked out and forgotten to show up. On one occasion, they have assumed there was to be no walk because it was raining which left me gobsmacked. They have lost my apartment keys even from the lockbox to my door which I can't see how they managed that. Fast forward to a year after my previous dog had passed. I found a wonderful new dog companion unexpectedly at an adoption event at a Farmer's Market in North Hollywood. I remember thinking I have only a few days to find and vet a new walker. Doggie's Angels were recommended to me by a co-worker. I initially called the walker they knew directly l. That person did not service my area of town but recommended Adam from the same organization. She talked him up so much , but I still had my doubts. Quick phone calls with the owners of the company followed by a meeting with Adam and he was my new walker. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have someone who I believe truly cares and adores my dog and loves walking her. I hear from my neighbors how amazing he is with her. He walks her solo in the neighborhood and makes sure she is safe at all times. I have been getting regular reports from the local nosey busybodies that Adam is really attentive and friendly with my dog. I admit I am biased and think my dog would put anybody in a good mood. But I can tell from his regular updates and photos every day that he really enjoys his walks with her as much as much as she does. I rarely give Yelp reviews, but felt I should for him. I was recommended to use him and I want to pay that success forward. If you live anywhere near the Valley Village Park and need a dog walker, Adam is your guy. A true diamond in the rough of the other walkers out there.
