My 18 year old kitty got very sick and the new vet here was very kind with helping me through the decision to euthanize her as well as actually providing the procedure. The whole staff was kind and compassionate and acted as if they had all the time in the world for me and my beloved cat. End of life decisions are an important part of being a responsible pet guardian, and Pawsitive provided the support I needed to do right by my cat. read more

I have been coming here for a little over a year. I have been through many vets before and always felt like the vet was either overcharging me for things I didn't need or they didn't care about my dog. Pawsitive vets is the total opposite. From the first time I took my dog there everyone was so nice and kind and patient (my dog is a nut), from the receptionist to the vet techs to the vet themselves. I never really have a particular vet I go to here just because they are all amazing. Recently I called in a panic about my dog - she ate dark chocolate; Dr. Chilla got on the phone with me and helped me get through the ordeal. I cannot thank her enough. Any other vets office would have told me to bring her in ASAP so they can charge me a fee but not Pawsitive. read more

We loved Dr. Chilla! She was so great with our dog and we left feeling very informed!

What a nice group of people! Very caring and knowledgeable. Took kitty in for what may be a UTI. The staff (Tiffany and Dr. Nancy Chilla-Smith) were just so accommodating, gentle and kind. I was trying to be useful to hold kitty down while they took the temp, but I couldn't bring myself to do it and Tiffany was great. Had some concerns about vaccines for indoor cats, which were discussed at length. I will definitely bring in my other cat for a checkup when its time and look forward to going again. They also trimmed his nails (Thank you!) which was complimentary. read more

I cannot say enough about my love for Dr. Chila and her staff. I have a 2 year old Pit mix and they are AMAZING with her. She can be high energy and excitable around new people, but they are understanding and always have treats on hand. They treat her as if she is their own pet- I appreciate this immensely. We have been to PAWSitive several times now, for an ongoing paw issue with my dog, and they have always been patient and easy to get ahold of for advice and able to squeeze us in for 'emergency' appointments. PAWSitive is also very affordable- for example, I spent $54 on a Bordetella vaccine for my new puppy in Chelsea, the same shot was $24 at PAWSitive. I will be ABSOLUTELY be taking my new puppy here for all of his future checkups and appointments. Go here! You won't be disappointed. read more

The clinic itself could use a little prettying up but given the fact that I used to take my cat to an overpriced place in the city it's clear that I was paying high prices for his interior design and new office space over the quality care. Pawsitive cares. Dr. Chilla-Smith is warm and friendly and the tech staff ask all the right questions. They are upfront with costs (which are very reasonable) and my appointment was on time. Dr. Chilla-Smith realized a test she needed for my cat didn't happen so she asked me to come in to get it checked without charging me and found the problem. Great customer service and my cat actually likes it there it seems. Great neighborhood vet. Two thumbs up! read more

Dr. Perry is absolutely wonderful and goes the extra mile every time our dogs need her. It took me years of being disappointed with other vets throughout Brooklyn before finding her, whom I trust completely. Her staff has been hit-or-miss and occasionally drops the ball, but recently we've had positive experiences there all around. I have worked in vet hospitals myself and know that Dr. Perry is not out to make money on unnecessary procedures, but she will give you all your options and provide referrals for more specialized care if you're interested. read more

Great clinic and people. I had a situation where my kitten was diagnosed with ringworms and it required me to return her to the place I've bought her from. The whole situation was very complicated and I had very tight deadline. Pawsitive clinic was able to answer all my questions, send over all medical information and still stay polite after my non-stop calls to get situation resolved. I will definitely recommend this clinic to everyone. If I decide to get another pet, this will be the clinic where I take my pet. read more

Dr. Perry and her staff are great! Her dad stopped me three years ago while walking my dog and a foster pooch. Dr. Perry had just opened up her practice and he was passing around her card which offered a $15 disc. on new visits. I was so taken aback at how proud he was of her that I had to bring in my Leah. She has great bedside manners and her staff is soo attentive. The office cat is so cool that he didn't even flinch when Leah took a sniff! He just gave her gentle "warning" swipe of her paw! LOL! As a result, I've made an appointment to bring in my beagle. Its also a short walk since they are in the neighborhood! read more

A friendly and professional office. The staff does a great job with your pet. I have taken my dog here for two appointments and I am always more nervous than she is. Going to a new vet is always a little nerve racking but the tech and vet taking care of my pup were very knowledgeable and asked lots of questions. Dr. Perry is amazing! I recently discovered my young Dobie is affected by two mutated copies of a potentially serious bleeding disorder. Oh no! I wanted to get him neutered. Before I had my appointment, Dr. Perry called me directly and chatted for 20 minutes about my concerns related to his disease and a neutering surgery. She totally put me at ease - cheerful, but honest, and very clear about the pros/cons of moving ahead. I came in for our first appointment, were seen right away, wham/bam, had tests/vaccines/etc. taken care of. This is probably the most pleasant experience I've ever had with a vet. read more

We just moved into the neighborhood and took our ailing 18 yo kitty in to see Dr. Perry. She is was one of the nicest, most knowledgeable vets I've ever met. I have had my dog go to other vets and the people at pawsitive are absolutely incredible. When you walk in you feel at home. They are very professional, caring and the prices are very reasonable. Dr. Perry, Dr. Belvedere, the vet techs(who craddled my dog because she gets very anxious), Z the recptionist and the entire team are the best. She made me feel very comfortable with asking questions and she even follows up with an email. I thought the tumor my dog had on her legs was cancer but it was benign tumor. I got the results ASAP. I am an avid animal welfare advocate and I am very picky about what vet I bring my pets to. I look for a vet that truly cares for the well-being of their patients (rather than one who looks to make as much money as possible off of the pet's family). It is easy to make an appointment or you can walk in. The staff are all professional and friendly. The veterinarians are extremely knowledgeable about pet health. I discovered Pawsitive when I moved to Brooklyn and I had a cat who was a little bit sick. I brought her in to have her checked out. The first thing I noticed was the appointment fee is half of what you'll pay in Manhattan. I was put in a room and a vet tech came in to ask me some basic questions. The tech was wonderful. Then I saw the veterinarian. She recommended a conservative treatment (this saved me money). The treatment did not work as well as I had hoped so I went back and we did more tests. They found the source of the illness and treated it. (They even waived the appointment fee for the second visit). Now I take my pets in for their vaccinations grooming needs, check ups, and anything else they need. I've also recommended Pawsitive to multiple friends, who have all had great experiences. I highly recommend this place!. read more

I've been to some good vets but this place is awesome. In summary? They are professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable on the charges. My dog was diagnosed with Lyme disease unfortunately, and Dr. Johnson, the new vet, couldn't have been better to work with. She answered all my questions, spent some serious quality time checking my pet over from top to bottom, and was upfront in anticipating his next needs. You frankly couldn't ask for a better vet to work with. I also have to mention that in addition to the vet, the entire staff was great, from the receptionist to the vet tech. Everyone was on top of their game, friendly and doing exactly what you'd expect and want. Definitely the vet of choice in the neighborhood. read more

When I first came here with our previous dog back in 2014, they were great. Our vet then and the vet techs knew us by first name. We also visited often because our dog had a lot of health issues. As the months grew and so did their patient list, we started to notice a gradual change: more people in the small waiting area, hair balls and dust everywhere, long waits even to check-out, rushed appointments, etc. One time, we waited at Petsmart for a food prescription to come thru and it never did because the receptionist forgot and then the office closed early. We left messages and waited an hour before begging Petsmart, and thank god they had an in-house vet who was understanding and approved it for us. What broke the camel's back for me, was when I got my new dog and made an appointment a month in advance for a Bordetella booster. The night before the appointment, I got a voicemail stating that they've ran out of the vaccine. Who doesn't keep inventory of their supplies? It was inconvenient and I was willing to brush it off, until I was told that I needed to call them to see when it would arrive as they didn't seem to know it either. My phone call then led to numerous back/forth with a lazy receptionist who refused to get out of his seat to find out. After three frustrating phone calls and being told that he was too "busy" to ask about whether a vaccine was in, I got absolutely nowhere. It was dire to get this booster as my dog was going to be boarded and it was absolutely required. Seriously, all I was trying to do was find out whether the vaccine came in. If you want real service and a caring staff, I'd keep away from here. This place is dirty and beyond disorganized. Needless to say that I now go elsewhere for real vet care, even if it's a little further out. read more

Really scummy, sleazy business practices. Will schedule you for services you did not request and charge you for it without consultation. They will also try to convince you to get services that are unnecessary. They are not looking out for the best interest of your pet but trying to squeeze as much cash as they can out of you. I recommend finding a better, more respectful clinic. read more

I made an appointement for my cat to get neutered through their web-site. Got a confirmation by email about my appnmt, which was in 5 days. I made arrangemnets at work to come in later that day because I had to bring in my cat at 9:30 am. The night before my appontmt, around 7pm, I got a call from the vet office confirming my appmnt and explaining that they won't be able to neuter him tomorrow, because first they would have to examine him and do blood work, and then schedule another day for me to come for the actual surgery. Since they are pretty far from me, I asked if it would be OK to go another vet, close to me, for the blood work, and then I would go to them for the surgery. The girl said she would have to speak to her boss about that, and call me back the next day. It's been 3 days already, no-one got back to me. First of all, I want to say, I have 6 male cats, that were neutered, and blood test is never REQUIRED, it's always optional, or you sign a waiver that you don't want it. It's about an extra $100. In most places they do it in the same day as the surgery, I never had to Come Back for the surgery. I've been to many vet clinics, having so many cats, but never delt with such unprofessionals. And that was just over the phone. I can't imagine what I would go through if I actually went there. Another thing, the reason why I chose this clinic, is because of 40 5star reviews on Yelp. Now I'm thinking, vet clinics that have been in business for over 30 years, and really ARE good, have like 5, 10, 15 at most reviews, but this place, that's been open for 3 years, has over 40 reviews. And most are 5star. Are the REALLY THAT great and famous, and that's why can care less about new patients?.. makes me wonder... read more

This is a great vet. When my cat became very weak and ill one day and her long-term vet was too booked to see her, I took her over to Pawsitive. They ran tests, called me several times, and we discussed all her not so great options. Flow is now back to her usual (ridiculously spoiled) self with manageable diabetes and IBD, but all the staff there has been great. We have now switched over entirely to Pawsitive for her ongoing needs including the medications she will receive for the rest of her life, submitting insurance reimbursement claims, her prescription food, and even boarding/cat sitting. I also stopped by one day to make sure I got the correct size syringes and they were happy to answer my unexpected drop-by question. GREAT vet. Affordable, good communicators, and clear animal lovers. Never felt rushed at my appointments, always received a thorough report of my cat's health, often with follow ups and check ins over the phone and email. They don't even deserve a star my cat has been put down today because she had cancer which has taken over 1/3 of her body and it was too late to help her mind you I've taken her to pawsitive veterinary two weeks ago and she didn't know what was wrong with her we've been back and forth at this vet for about 3 year because my cat is always throwing up her answer was a sensitive stomach. When I first adopted my cat a few weeks ago, we began looking for a vet in the neighborhood. PAWsitive had pretty good reviews, so we decided to give it a shot. However, scheduling an appointment proved to be more difficult that it should be. I had to call 2-3 times and stay on the line for minutes waiting for someone to pick up. I figured it was a busy clinic and let the issue slide. When we arrived for our appointment, there were two techs/receptionists sitting idly at the front. I had also just gotten health insurance for my cat and when I tried to discuss it with one of the ladies at the front desk she stated that it was a reimbursement system whereas I had thought otherwise. I asked for a few minutes to sort it out with the company, which seemed to irritate her. I'm not sure why as there as no one else in the waiting room and they didn't seem busy. A few minutes later, the nurse took us into one of the exam rooms to take vitals. After she was done, my cat jumped off the table and began exploring; I realized it was pretty dirty down there but my cat was exploring a under things and was out of reach at that point. While my cat was on the floor the nurse opened the door without warning and a huge dog was standing right outside. With exits and other animals in close proximity, I would expect the staff to be a bit more cautious when opening doors with a cat on the loose! I hurriedly shut the door to prevent a situation. A little while later, we were greeted by Dr. Chilla-Smith. I have to say, we had a great experience with her! She was great at answering all of my questions and concerns about vaccinations and feeding schedules. A few days after her vaccinations, my cat's energy level was very low and I was concerned about a possible infection. Yet again, getting someone on the phone at this place became an issue. It was a Friday and I really wanted to speak to someone before the weekend, but I ended up leaving a message and getting a call back a few days later. Dr. Perry was great and spent a good 5 minutes discussing her current condition with me. Last week I called to schedule my cat's spay surgery and yet again, was forced to leave a message as surgery cant be scheduled via their online system. I waited a few days but never heard back so I tried calling again. When I did get in touch with the office staff, I told her that I wanted to do the surgery ASAP to prevent my cat going into heat. She said she would be able to get us in by the following week, but when I brought up the use of a certificate to help cover the cost of the procedure the receptionist told me that she would have to call me back after speaking with the vet... The crazy thing is, one of their own staff suggested the certificate to me in the first place! At this point, I had had enough. I told the receptionist to cancel the procedure. I then found an alternate veterinarian to see and my cat had her surgery 2 days later. Then, this morning I got a call from PAWSitive asking if we were still coming for the spaying... The receptionist had apparently never canceled our appointment. Sadly, we won't be returning to PAWSitive. While Dr. Chilla-Smith and Dr. Perry were both wonderful veterinarians their office management needs improvement. The service there has been poor and disorganized from the start and I didn't feel comfortable putting my pet's care in the hands of their staff. Not to mention the lack of respect for paying clients. read more

I want to say something about Dr. Perry - I am a grad student with almost no time, and she was recommended to me by the woman I am staying with in New York. She was so helpful over the phone without judgement and with a clear sense of compassion and energy for the work she does. Her recommendations put me at ease without even meeting her first! At the moment, I know she's operating remotely, but to know that if I needed a housecall she was more than willing to help was such a relief. I was very worried about my kitty and her digestion was giving me a real scare. Dr. Perry has been happy to talk to me over the phone and was so genuinely wonderful about scheduling an appointment, even though my cat's condition improved (which I called to tell her), and we decided to hold off on treatment and Dr. Perry recommended I monitor her closely and even offered to make a visit the next day if necessary. If you are looking for a trustworthy woman who will put you at ease about the care of your beloved pet, Dr. Perry is the choice for you! read more

I love the care they give to my girls. The prices are almost too reasonable. They don't talk you into a bunch of treatments. They only do what's necessary. There's never a hard push to sell. In fact, because they are a small business you want to buy from them. I would just extend their hours to 8pm everyday. Otherwise. these are the most gentle vets I've ever been to. read more

I will never ever take a pet here again. This place is shockingly unprofessional. The vets themselves are probably ok, but it is nearly impossible to get a clear picture of their ability: you will be dealing mostly with receptionists, who are RUDE, DISORGANIZED AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Even if your (urgent, concerning a pet who is in extreme pain ) messages to get to the vets, they never get back to you. They suggest emailing - but they never respond to the emails either. My pet was prescribed a medication repeatedly. I had to buy it over and over for over a month, to no avail. I finally went to another vet who prescribed the same medicine but stronger, and it got rid of my pet's ear infection in three- four days, at a much lower cost. I absolutely hate this place. read more

I purchased a puppy last year as a birthday treat to myself and I was going crazy because after I got my furball home I didnt know what vet to go to. Although I found these ladies three days prior to bringing my little guy home I just felt like the reviews online was a little too good to be true AND they were in flatbush, and lets face it a lot of business owners in flatbush no matter what the industry may be - have bird seeds for brains when it comes to running a good, productive business so I was leery, I'll admit it. With reviews of other Brooklyn Vets getting worse by the dozen I just said to hells bells with it and I booked an appointment and hoped for the best, expecting the absolute worse. I booked with Dr Courtney (She is on leave according to their website last I checked a week ago while making an appointment) and to my suprise when I arrived, despite its cozy appearence ("Cozy" is my code word for "Tiny") inside the wait area was clean, organized, well lit, and are you ready for this.....quiet as a library! No barking, unorderly rotwilders, pitbulls, or bobermans wearing bandannas, home made shirts which was formerly their owners child's shirt. None of that foolishness you'd expect from crazy flatbush. So at this point Im pinching myself because Im thinking so far Im winning...But then I got my pup with me in his kennel who begins to make noise in this quiet place so my smile quickly turns upside down in embarrassment, I cant take him anywhere! Dr Courtney Scooped him out his carrier and rubbed his belly, gave him a treat, talked to him a bit and before you know it he was giving her kisses...Damn traitor! Of course when she handed him back to me we had a serious sidebar about swooning the ladies....Men! Smh Anyway I dont get what the fuss is about the front desk/house staff because in the year Ive had my puppy and we've been going there the same young lady has been at the front desk. She is very helpful, she faxes me whatever forms I need for groomers and she even knows a great deal about puppy care herself, she personally saved me quite a few $ and trips out to the location, its like having a sub-vet. On our first visit we were greeted by a tech who welcomed us, whipped out her ipad and checked us in, took his puppy profile pic, and logged in all his vaccinations (YES! Chile they are tech savy in there and I love businesses that keep up with things, especially Apple things...) When she was done the receptionist called the doctor to let her know when we were officially registered. I personally love the front desk and the fact that now all I have to do is mention my yorkie's name & she already know who I am. Service is always great. Im never in there more than 45 minutes, yet I never feel rushed when Im asking one too many questions. I will see Dr Johnson next since Courtney is on leave but no matter who you see you will be in great hands as Ive seen all the ladies in there in action. Call me sexist if you want but I like that this is an all ladies practice because they have a special touch and they are gentle with your furry pal as if they were theirs. I had a shepard previously and before he died I use to take him to a guy on Quinton Rd and he was rougher than sand paper. We stopped going therer... well it was my shepards choice (He bit him..... "Allegedly" - thats what they say in court right?) Anyhoo!! I reccomend these ladies you will love them. Dont let reception nit picking reviews scare you from great care for your furry love's. Plus they have plenty treats in there to distract your pet so its a win win. read more

Some months ago Dr. Perry came by for a housecall. She was upbeat, calm, non-judgmental, and extremely knowledgeable. She clearly assessed and explained the situation - that the cat is older, is in good shape physically, but having emotional issues (yowling.) Welcoming, professional, and clean. These are a few things you want when you bring your beloved pet in for care.

By far my favorite vets EVER! In life I'm low maintenance but I'm super bougie when it comes to my furry and feathered family. And going to lots of different vets, I can safely say so many of them have zero idea how to handle cats, or they just want people to get in and out. That isn't the case here! I went here back in 2013 and my cat saw Dr. Perry, who knew exactly what she was doing with my rambunctious cat who HATES going to the vet. Who wouldn't react poorly to being put in a carrier, taken to a strange place, then confronted with an anal thermometer and having the tender bits examined? There have even been vets who have refused to touch him since gets so freaked out that his only reaction is to lash out. But Dr. Perry was so calm, professional, and patient, and totally understood that cats have different personalities. She was the only vet that my cat ever sat relatively still for. Light growls and one small hiss, but nothing else. I was heartbroken when I had to change vets because of moving (he hates long car rides even more than the vet). But now I'm back in the neighborhood so today my cat saw Dr. Chilla and the tech was Martina, both of whom handled the appointment flawlessly! All the same praise goes for them too. Martina was even able to reach into his carrier and pick him up! They were patient and lovingly calmed him down, working quickly and gently, being sure to answer all of my questions. When asked, they are also up front about the prices of their services, which I greatly appreciate. A purrfect visit. I've never seen my cat in this state at any other vet. Highly recommend this place! read more

Really caring, knowledgeable vets - the best in the area for sure. The vets take the time to tell you what is going on with your pet and to explain various tests and procedures. My cat had a tooth extraction and I felt like she was in good hands from the beginning to the free follow up appointment. The vet will also answer your questions via email, which I haven't found anywhere else. read more
