I've taken my dog here a few times and they are great! I always get an appt fairly quickly and the service is pretty fast. I've had to drop off my dog early before too and they were very accommodating. He is always clean and happy when I pick him up. Finally had the chance to try this groomer and let me say how happy I am to find one I feel comfortable and trust with my dog. When I first got there the groomer came out took the time to ask questions about my dog such as allergies, if she's good with grooming ect. She asked questions about style and helped me decide what to pick. Then when I came to pick up my pup she came out looking adorable with a report card and a Baggie with a few treats. I took my yorkie on 6/28/21 to get groomed after they had a cancellation. I showed a picture to the groomer of what I wanted and the groomer did such a horrible job. I asked for a short cut and round face yorkie cut instead they cut his face in a "V" shape (one side longer then the other). the job overall was super choppy. hair on one Leg is super long compared to the other 3 legs. His ears are uneven, his neck & chest were literally shaved compared to the rest of his body. I feel a 5 year old could of done a better job. That groomer should go back to grooming school. They charged me $80.00 and even tip $5.00. Ofcourse they charged me before I even saw my dog (which is shaddy business practice). After complaining with the receptionist the groomer never came out. People please save your money and don't take your babies to that horrible place. I'm going back to "Classy Canine Dog Salon" they do a much better job and they listen to the clients. Oh and they take 2 hours grooming your dog as opposed to 1 hour at NegativeKarma. Which I give a big fat zero star read more

She was so scared at first but the groomer took her time to get to know her and talked to me about what I wanted done. They did such a great job. I have been coming here since the place opened about two years ago and I LOVE it. The store itself is cute, has easy access parking and close to the freeway. You can only find high quality food/treats here, so expect to pay a bit more for food/treats then you would at your local grocery store. But their prices are very reasonable considering the QUALITY. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to this stuff. I like going in there and trying the new treats out knowing that everything will be high quality and safe for my dogs/cats to eat. They have done their research so I don't have to. Marilyn works the retail part of the store and is always a wealth of information. If I ask a question she doesn't know the answer to, she will find the answer and get back to me. She has also been wonderful in finding/ordering the products I want but that she might not carry in stock. I have asked for a few weird/oddball items and she always manages to find what I am looking for. Robin does the grooming. They do have another full time groomer there, Shannon, but I have not used her yet. Robin always takes her time with my dogs - and never complains about their temperaments. She is always calm, yet firm with one of my "naughty" dogs. Once the grooming/nail trim is over, she makes sure to take some extra time with them before and afterward to make sure that the experience is as easy as possible. All of my dogs still like her - despite having their nails trimmed there for the past few years - that says a lot considering my dogs HATE having their nails trimmed. I love the store and the people who work in it. It is a friendly and inviting atmosphere. We often stop by just to visit and they are always happy to see us. My dogs love it here and that makes me love it just that much more. read more

I was referred here by my sibling who comes with a much larger dog then my much smaller dog (so they work with all dogs well). I would recommend this location. We live in LA, but visit The area a few times a year with our two danes. When we are on walks, they are so happy when we make a quick stop here. Knowledgeable staff, cute dog accessories, with toys and treats for dogs of any size. If you have big dogs, that are avid chewers, they even have a few Nyla-Bone brand toys which will last through a year of daily hard chewing. I wanted a muzzle to be placed on my dog to get his nails trimmed and he was fearful of them and I wasn't quite comfortable letting them take him back there but I was going to give it a chance in the lady came out talking about oh where's the biter in front of people in the store a few times before finding us over in the chair not only did I not feeling comfortable with my dog didn't either that's sad. I called her out on it and she said yeah you're right I shouldn't have assumed I just assumed that the dog bites because you asked for a muzzle and I said I think we should go somewhere else and she said that's your prerogative. I took my 3 month old pup--Elvis--here for the first time today for a pedicure. He YELPED (LOL) like mad the entire time, but the two girls held him down and expertly filed his sharp nails down to a beautiful trim. Now my legs and arms won't be so bloody! They were very cool with his puppy madness, and compared it to a toddler tantrum! Elvis is a short hair and we don't need grooming, but there was an adorable little dog who was getting a blow dry--he/she looked GREAT! WARNING: They have TOO much cute dog stuff in here. Love this groomer!!! I've been taking my Yorkie "Dolly" here for 2 years or more now. Nikki is her groomer. She is kind,caring and very knowledgeable. All the groomers are great I've never ever had an issue of any kind here. I love the fact that it's cage free and the personal attention that they give the animals and their owners. Pawsitive Karma is a Holistic Boutique and Pet Spa which has been opened about 6 months. This was my first time visiting and I was impressed with the wonderful selection of natural and organic pet foods and treats. They sell pet food, treats, baked goods for dogs, clothes, accessories, toys, etc.. They also have a Pet Spa service. There were a nice variety and everything was set up very nicely. I purchased the PupPuccino which is a beef blend of Gourmet Dog Treats and a "Good Dog" chicken pot pie dog treats. They both come in nice containers which I will be giving to someone as a gift for their dog. The owner was very nice and helpful. Her dog was working with her in the store and came to greet us and check us out when we came in. The store is in the middle of a block and is a bit hard to spot while driving by. It is right next door to a small restaurant named JD's Restaurant. I definitely will be back again either for my pets or gifts for my friends' pets. read more

On July 3, 2010, I took Mom's Maltese/Poodle, Jesse, who is 13 and very spoiled, to their shop. It is a very cute storefront-type place, and I was very pleased that they fixed Jess up: They got rid of his little mats, and they were on time for me to pick him up. I did hear Jesse cry once when he got his nails trimmed, but overall we are pleased with the "do." They are higher priced, but they are worth it. I found this place on yelp, and it was also really close to home. This was Remy's first time at the groomers and I was scared he wasnt going to let the girl do her job. Last experience was awful because the place that I went to , they put the dogs in cages and totally scared my little Remy, to the point that I couldnt take him to any other place. Finally, I decided to try out Pawsitive because I couldnt cut my dog's nails on my own anymore. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and helped right away. Chelsey took Remy in and did an amazing job. She was very gentle and Remy wasn't as feisty ad he usually gets around other people. The prices are very competitive and they have all kind of holistic,organic, super great quality food & treats at great prices. checked it out today with Boston Biggie, he's kind of growing and we wanted to get him a bigger harness, one of those new style fancy step in harnesses maybe with a little design or something. Well honestly wasn't too impressed. Most of the stuff was for small dogs, a lot of cute stuff if your interested in that for your pet, but nothing that jumped out at me that other places didn't have of course without the flashiness. The dog food section was impressive wasn't all that pricey. But I didn't see how much of a difference if you feed that stuff to your dog compared to my all ready organic dog food Ultramix and the other dog foods. Does organics have a Super organic and is that super organic going to transform your dog into some kind of super dog with no health problems? Don't know about that one... Small place that kind of said hi to me and then ignored me, or didn't talk to me for the duration didn't even say bye on my way out which was kind of surprising to me... I groom my own dogs but I have never seen anything other than satisfied grooming clients here. Not sure why Milo's owner was so upset, but take his comments with a grain of sale. This is my fav place to bring the furkids for yummy, healthy treats. I even got Ziwi Peak air dried raw food for a recent road trip. The dogs loved it! Of course, it is important to change foods gradually, so I do so for a week before our trip:) This place is full of supplies for raw feeders, holistic kibble people, etc. Their food & treats are healthy and there are plenty for special needs pooches with dietary restrictions (grain free, etc.). Robin, Marilyn and Staff are the most wonderful, caring people with their furry friends and guests. They have provided the best grooming services for my difficult little Yorkie Ella throughout the years. I have been taking my little Ella to Pawsitive Karma for approximately 9-10 years and I would not consider taking her anywhere else. They are very attentive and knowledgeable. The appointment process is easy with friendly reminders and my little girl is in and out, in about an hour depending on what type of service is needed. No cages, no leaving your pet for the day and my little Yorkie is not stressed out after her visit. I brought my long haired kitty in for grooming every 3 months for 6 years while I lived in the Bay Area. Now that I have moved away, I miss their excellent service and wish I didn't live 3 hours away so I could keep taking him here! I love that the service is quick; they usually had him bathed and complete with a lion cut within 1.25 hours. When I moved from Castro Valley to Concord, I kept bringing him back for their excellent service. Michelle was his groomer and he always came home with a great cut and feeling happy. Absolutely THE WORST experience I've ever had at a groomer. Hearing my sweet little dog yelp for a few seconds from the back of the grooming area was frightening and traumatic to say the least! Here's what happened: We walked in for a quick nail trimming. My dog and I are no stranger to nail trimming as I get her's done regularly either at a groomers or at home by myself if I'm crunched for time. About a minute or less after my dog being taken into the back, I hear horribly painful yelping from the back. It was distinctive of pain and I knew instantly it was my pup. Not to mention, it lasted for a few seconds and was not a quick yelp by any means. I try to go into the back to see what happened only to see the cashier holler nervously at the lady in the back to call for help. CALL FOR HELP?!?! What did they do?! I try to go back but the cashier says it's ok and that I don't need to. I'm not comfortable with that so I ask again and am allowed to go back there. When I go in the back I see my poor girl on one of the tall tables, backed into the corner, being held by two ladies. One is trying to cut her nails with a dremel, the other is trying to pin her down. The lady pinning her down fails and my dog is now backed into the corner standing on her hind legs getting her paw pulled and twisted by the lady with the dremel. I briskly head over to assist and see what is happening and they just comment that my dog's paws are ticklish. UM NO! I mention that the neck collar they placed on her is too tight and is chocking her, plus they cannot hold her in that manner and get a good result. The just told me to "get into her face and tell her it's ok". I go to my dog and try to calm her, but the ladies do not stop pulling and prodding my dog with the dremel. I try to take my pup and go, saying that this is a bad experience and I don't want it to continue; they told me to hold on and they will just do the front paws so at least I got something done. Then they proceed to harass me about whether or not I've been to a groomer, if my dog is ok with nail trims, if she's always afraid of tables, etc. Thankfully the lady at the cashier station came in the back at this time and put a stop to everything. She told the two ladies that they were doing it all wrong and she was going to take control. She picks up my dog and takes her into another back room where there are multiple dogs running around and two others being groomed. I make sure to come along. This lady does a MUCH better job and my dog is finally back to being manageable and not scared out of her mind. I ask what happened and the lady said she has no idea; my dog might not do well at the groomers (ugh stop with that! she loves spa days!!!) or that her hair got cut in the dremel. I ask if we can use normal nail cutters, and the lady tells me they don't have those and aren't comfortable using anything but the dremel. As she's doing the nail trim, she continues to ask if my dog is always scared like this and if we go to groomers. I have to keep defending us the entire time. When she's almost done she mentions that my dog's hair makes her uncomfortable, and starts to trim all of the hair on my dog's paws...only to ask after she's done the first one if that's ok with me. After doing so she comments that her and the other people are a bit nervous today since it's so busy and that my dog probably got scared at their being rushed and so on edge. No, sorry lady, that can't be it. We are finally done with the nail cutting and I go to walk my dog out. When I get to the cash register I find the lady who first took my pup in and asked her what happened. She finally admits that as she started to trim my dog's nails my dog turned around and she "accidentally got the dog with the dremel". It took a few follow-up questions to get the truth out of her which ended up being that she got the dremel caught caught on the side of my dog (like the side of her belly) and got it caught up in the hair and possibly on her skin as well, and she didn't know what to do. OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Then she made me pay for their junky service. Well, as my mom and I drive home we discuss the events (my mom waited for me in the shipping area as I went in the back to assist) and I find out that the lady who met us at the cash register at the end of the event (the lady who made my dog get hurt) was being rude to my mom while she waited. This worker was condescending and rude when my mom replied she wasn't sure how old my dog was or how long I had her, then continued to harass her about how my dog must just be scared and bad with groomers. Never, ever coming back here again!!! TLDR: they hurt my dog and didn't confess to what happened until afterward, got the dremel caught in my dog's fur long enough for her to yelp for at least 3 seconds, and harassed us about not being familiar with groomers when all my dog loves to do is get pampered by groomers. I love this pet boutique and little Chester, the pomeranian, loves it too. The owner, Marilyn, is very friendly and extremely knowledgable. Chester is hooked on their gourmet treats, especially the Stella & Chewy's Carnivore Crunch in Beef. It's 100% natural. They have a variety of natural/ healthy yummies for your pooches. I was shopping for a stroller (for those days when I do the 10 mile run since Chester can top at 2 miles at most - hey, like I said, he's a pomeranian! That's better than some people!), and Marilyn knew everything there was to know about strollers: what's ideal, what's recommended, what I don't need/need, etc. She's great, so helpful!!! read more
