    Dog Grooming

    This was my first time taking my husky to get groomed at this place and I absolutely loved the entire process, from making the appointment through the phone to the interaction with the groomer. Our groomer was Yerette, at least that's what the paper was signed and she did an amazing job! She made sure to ask questions about what my husky likes and doesn't like. The grooming also took only 1 1/2 hours which is speedy. I've gone to other places and I'll have to pick her up about 4 hours later! Definitely would recommend and I will be going back! I also got a happy pup back!

    I was hectic to bring my lovely husky ( Luna) to a grooming place since she had a really bad experience at a different groomer but this place it's totally different, they do communicate very well and explain every step to what will be done to your pet, they do care about your pet, great work done by Priscilla and other team member (I'm sorry I can't remember her name ). This will be our regular place to go now to get Luna a well done grooming, keep up the good work, I really appreciate your patience and love you all give to our pets. Almost forgot to mention of course no cage used since Luna hates it !

    I am a first time client & had my Pomeranian groomed her for the first time yesterday. We recently moved back to the Hayward/CV area so finding a groomer nearby was needed. I was impressed by the reviews, checked out their pictures of Poms, I liked how I saw a picture of a pom with a top view that was still very fluffy after a visit. I know a lot of people like the "boo cut" but my size and shape pom isn't suiting for the boo cut, plus that's a very short cut which I've read isn't good for their fur. I have very mixed feelings with this place, I was happy to be able to call on a Monday and get an appt for the next day, the woman who booked the appointment was also very pleasant. Upon entering I was a couple minutes before our appointment and was greeted by our groomer Neysa who was ready to go. Having a pom, we like to keep her fluffy and full & I told Neysa I mainly wanted to have her sanitary area cleaned up, along with her face to be rounded out. We went over her body and I said I didn't want her shaved or short. She was pulling up the fur length on her back and neck area to ask about the body length, which I stated not much off just a trim & that I still wanted to keep her fluffy. She said ok to all of what we went over & that she would be ready in about 1 hour to an hour and 15. I left feeling confident that everything would be as discussed upon my return. My Pom was ready in the time communicated, so when I came to pick her up, I was disappointed in the over all result. All of her fluff was mostly gone... The woman at the register asked me how I liked her cut, I let her know it was much shorter than expected. She said they used the longest attachment that they have, which confused me as I didn't think that was going to needed for what was discussed. I asked if they used hand scissors at all, which she said yes, just depends on the area they are going to use it on. I paid $90 for the cut & left $20 in Neysa's tip jar. But I just didn't feel happy upon returning home. I called back & let them know I felt like I needed to provide the overall feedback bc I just didn't understand where the miscommunication was. The woman I was speaking to let me know she was the manager and that they're happy to accept customer feedback & but had long winded answers to my concerns. She stated that when I said I wanted a "trim" that wasn't the correct wording I should've used the term "cleanup" which would've been the more correct term. When I explained that we went over the body length also, she said there wasn't anything they could do fix it at this point (which of course I know, what's done is done we have to wait for the growth) but they would let the groomer know. I felt like she had more rebuttals during our conversation rather an understanding but at the end of the day for me, I just wanted to make sure my dissatisfaction was heard. She said it would be noted and if I chose to come back they would keep it in mind, but because they keep their appointments to an hour or hour and 15, there's no hand scissoring done as the receptionist had told me, so she apologized saying the receptionist was mistaken but that made me feel as if there's no point to returning. Ultimately, there was no solution for us. The haircut overall I think would've been acceptable to someone who wanted this type of cut, but I just don't understand how my requests were either completely ignored or misunderstood. We will probably have to wait 2-3 months for my Pom to get her fluff back again so we'll see where we take her next, I didn't feel like my return business is wanted at this point. I just wish I felt more valued in my first visit here.

    I have been coming here for 9 years! My chihuahua loves this place. His 18-1/2 now and his absolutely a lover of all the wonderful cuddles and pets he receives here. My go to is Robin she is experienced with seniors has many dogs of her owns and fosters so she is a wizard at calming down my senior. Alex is a cutie! She's so lovely and always handles my senior with love and care. She remembers all the doggos names and is lovely to call up. Yes this place is appointment only bc they do not cage anyone that being said. The ones complaining about calling in, it's not that hard to get through but they are busy! Because they are that good! I make my appointments every 4 weeks out and have never had a problem calling in for one. The clothes and pet supplies are all so cute and holistic, healthy top grade products. The place is impeccably clean, and always has the cutest baked goods. I recommend this place to anyone I meet with new pups and definitely for seniors. Everyone here genuinely loves dogs, cats and rabbits! There is ample street parking and parking lot is shared but I've never had a problem finding a spot. I'm in an out in 35 minutes and my dog is a short hair. I hope you visit this place it's worth it every time.

Sweet girl. One day I booked with Ashley and got to the shop and was told Ashley was sick so someone else did Munchies grooming. I took my dog home and was very disappointed. Just wasn't how my dog usually is groomed. I ended up calling and taking him back a few days later for Ashley to tidy up the cut. Fast forward to last month I made an appointment online on a Friday. When you book online it says REQUEST, WAITING for approval. I made the request on Friday for that Monday appointment. Well, I never heard back, never got a call, did not get a text , nothing. So Monday comes, I assume they couldn't honor my appointment. The shop calls me and tells me if I want to bring Munchie in, ever, I would need to pay for Mondays No show. I explained the situation how I did not get confirmation, no one called so I didn't think they could take him in. After going back and forth and this very rude female butting in to our conversation which they had me on speakerphone, I told the owner Nathan that I couldn't pay 120$ for the missed appointment plus another 140$ for a new appointment. I always tip 20$!!! Nathan tells me, well ok he will just charge me 60$ for Mondays appointment. I explain to him , what it says online when booking, it says request waiting on approval! It does not say confirmed! I have been a customer for years. I always tip. Nathan says no, Munchie cannot come back unless I pay the 60$. He said that I no showed a few times in the past. If that was the case, why was I never charged or this was never mentioned to me. And how can they just make up a No show price of $120? No one has ever said anything to me ever about a no show until this happened. I expected them to consider the thousands of dollars I have paid them over the years. And to consider that besides this incident that was not my fault, I have been a loyal customer! I take my dog to them once a month! Every month! But no, Nathan insisted either I pay for the missed appointment from that Monday or not to ever come back! I think that says a lot about them, and now that I have found MOBILE groomers who come to your home for same price and do a great job, I am happy this happened. Otherwise I would probably have stayed there giving them my money. All in all, Nathan does not value his customers, or this would have been handled differently. I am disappointed my dog means that little to them as a customer and my years of spending my money with them means nothing, but I am happy I moved on to this awesome mobile grooming! It is so nice, so convenient you know your dog is right outside in the van getting groomed. I don't have to wait around all day to see if A Cut Above Grooming is gonna have my dog 2 hours or 4 hours. The shop itself is not clean. There is usually dog poop on the ground outside, that stays there all day from when I drop my dog off, until I pick him up, the same poop is still there. Kinda lame considering there's 4 or 5 workers there sometimes.

We usually call ahead of time to see if drop off is okay, usually it is fine and they can take him right away. We usually take him for a routine grooming session and also when he gets into some naughty business and wants to rub himself in the grass in who knows what but it leaves him smelling very stinky!! No worries tho cuz Claudia gets him smelling so clean and brand new. We usually book a bath, ears, teeth cleaning, nails, trim excessive paw hair. Beagles are prone to ear issues so we always include the ears!! cost is affordable but honestly, finding the perfect place is PRICELESS to us. Our dog seems comfortable being here, and maybe secretly enjoys it because he doesn't get nervous during drop offs anymore LOL We love our doggo so much and love that we found a dog groomer who is reliable, trustworthy, honest, and so friendly to us and Sage our dog. My travel happened a lot of times at the last minute, and overall I feel like they did a great job accommodating me and handling the situations which were sometimes chaotic. My dogs are both super high energy, and they always seem to return relaxed from their stays. I like that there are certain activities they do with the dogs and that they video / photograph it daily. I do feel like a live camera would be nice but I understand that can bring more complications. Lastly, their actual place has gotten WAY nicer since I first went there. It looks very clean and organized.

I originally started coming here for training with Ria when I brought home a new puppy and my other two dogs were not getting along with him. Through her training, all of my dogs have developed the skills they needed. The training is ongoing and I've been able to go at a pace that works for my schedule and budget. I now feel much more in control of my dogs' behavior. All three of my dogs are reactive in different ways and the training has made a huge difference. Ria is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things in a way that actually helps me understand what I'm doing and why. She's also very consistent, which I really appreciate. I've worked with other trainers before, but it never felt like an ongoing relationship where I could ask questions or continue learning like I can with Ria. We've done both individual sessions and group reactivity classes and I love that my dogs get to practice being around other dogs in a structured, non-judgmental environment. I've seen real progress in each of them. One has improved with aggressive and overprotective behavior, another has built confidence, and my third has gained obedience skills and improved socialization. I also use their daycare for my youngest dog and he absolutely loves it. He's been going for about six months now. He comes home happy and tired from physical activity and mental enrichment. The facility is great, the staff are caring, and I love getting photo updates. It's also a big plus that they have grooming services on-site. It gives me extra peace of mind that the facilities are all indoors and they work closely with the vet next door in case of an emergency. I'm really grateful to have found a place that supports both my dogs and me!
