Take it as you will. When we started bringing our pit and dachshund in, things were great. But I've noticed over the last 6 months when we would bring them is they would still have a lot of dander for just being washed. The business practice is to Dremel the dog nails down. Fine. But several times I would get my pit home and notice jagged edges, sharp spots and the equivalent to hang nails on some of her nails. Brenda does a fabulous job grooming our extremely fluffy Pomeranian and even puts little flowers in her hair by her ears; so cute! Her rates are reasonable and she has a lot of good information and advice for caring for our pets. It is very apparent that she is knowledgeable and cares greatly for animals. I took my Pomapoo there twice. I should have not taken him back after the first time, but I thought the lady was having a bad day. I made an appointment over the phone. When I took him in they told me that they needed a picture of the cut I wanted so they could keep it in his file. They did not tell me that when I made the appointment. I thought that was strange as I've never had a groomer ask me to do that. She said she would just do the best she could with my description of what I wanted. She was rude, but again, I thought maybe she was having a bad day. The cut was ok so I thought I would give it another shot. The second time I took him in she was still very cold. The cut was nothing that I asked for! They basically shaved him! I have to put a sweater on him because he literally doesn't have enough fur to keep him warm! I also read on another review site that someone suspected abuse!!! I will never go back to this place, and I suggest you don't either! read more

Our 3rd appointment for grooming our very chunky, long haired, rescue kitty, and it was just as wonderful as the first 2 times! Being a rescue, I was apprehensive the first time, not knowing how Annie would react to strangers, but she apparently adapted well, and seems to really enjoy her "Lioness Cut"! So much so, she comes home and carries on with her "DIVA" persona! Kudos to both groomers for understanding my concerns, and really taking their time with her. In my opinion, they are extremely professional, and truly do have our pet's best interest at heart!! And, the price is extremely reasonable, considering the time and effort that go into grooming her! Brought my cat in to get a lion cut. After getting home from picking her up, I took her out of the kennel, and she looked hideous. They did such an awful job shaving/grooming her. So sloppy. I called and asked if they can fix her up, the lady was very rude, yet agreed to fix the cut. I brought her back in, she argued with me about a lion cut and sunflower cut. Whatever. I waited for her to fix the mess, she was very rough with my cat, and did an even shittier job at fixing/shaving her. What a disaster. I will NEVER bring my cat, or any other animal of mine to this place again. $70 later and my cat looks like a train wreck. I could have done a better job. Save your time, money, and frustration and do not go here. They are very rude and do an awful job. read more

You get what you pay for, I have used Paws N Claws twice now, and have an appointment today. Yes they operate on an industrial high production level, and the quality is mediocre, but in a month no one can tell the difference. The pricing is very reasonable, they groom cats, and I own a worst case scenario, so I am grateful to have Paws N Claws around. read more

They don't even deserve one star!! My husband and I had been in a horrific car accident so my sister-in-law took my dog in for me. She told them that I wanted her 1 to 2 inches all over. She was very uneven and at least 3 or 4 inches in spots. She looked ok so I didn't want to complain but within 2 1/2 weeks she looked like she never had a haircut! (I would have called earlier but was very busy taking care of my husband).I took her back and they tried to tell me that her hair grew that much in 2 1/2 weeks. She was extremely rude and did redo her but chopped her hair off! I was so upset that I had my friend pick her up and they had the nerve to tell her to tell me not to bring my dog there! She told them don't worry I'll never bring my dog there and I would never recommend them to anyone!! read more

I love this place! Brenda is always so helpful and really knows what she is doing. You can tell that she really loves animals. I take my dogs in there once a month to have their nails shortened and she uses the Dremel to get them shorter and smooth. During the wet winter months, she takes a little extra time to remove the hair between the pads of their feet. A few times a year, we get the full treatment. I have a corgi and he always looks adorable after his spa appointment. And her prices are great!! Oh and they also do cats, which is hard to find! read more

This was my second time and I won't be back. I had sensed some hostility towards customers and dogs and even to her mom last time. I thought maybe she was having bad day. I rescued an old orthopedically challenged dog who is sweet but has separation anxiety but he loves anyone who is happy to see him. I didn't even go through with it today because of how I felt. The owner was not kind to me and she certainly didn't act like she wanted to see my dog. If you are tired of working with dogs, retire or get someone in there who loves making dogs look like their best self. I need a groomer to convince me you are not the horror stories we see on social media or I'm not paying $35 to be treated poorly! Test failed today! Her employee did a great job though. He was clean and his fur silky. She was kind to him even though he was nervous. She understood he was in pain and was gentle. She should find a new groomer. I have brought my kitty to Irene for many years now. He gets very matted. She has done a wonderful job of combing him out and last time gave him the cutest lion cut. She has always been pleasant and seems to love the animals. The price is good too. One of the only places I've found to groom cats. read more

This is the best groomer in Spokane.....they did a wonderful job on my three poodles and my dogs were very calm....highly recommend Brenda for grooming them. Very caring and helpful read more

I made an appointment a few days prior, but when we brought our 14 year old long hair cat in for her 12:00 appointment, the groomer wasn't even there! She had just left to go to lunch 10 minutes prior. My kitty had some knotted and tangled hair on her tummy that we could not comb out. We told them to cut it about 1/2 inch long on her stomach. The fur on her back was fine, she didn't have any tangles there! The groomer was brutal with the clippers, she cut down to bare skin and nicked her nipples. The coat is so choppy and ugly all over her body. I told them she has never bitten anyone, but she was put in a muzzle. I'm sure this scared her out of her wits. When we got home her feet were taped up tight with painters tape that pulled out the fur on her feet when we removed it. She has been very lethargic and sick this week. I'm calling my vet and telling them to never recommend this place to anyone. They are incompetent. I can't believe we actually paid someone to do this to her. I will not bring her back! Please don't bring your kitty to this hatchet house! read more
