Been taking the cat here for years. And when I say the cat, I mean THE cat. If you've been there when my cat was there, you know who I'm talking about haha. My cat is TERRIFIED of the crate and TERRIFIED of strangers and TERRIFIED of the clippers. He meows so loud, you can hear him through closed doors when I pull up in my car... anyway, the staff at Paws n Jaws has always been very accommodating, kind and has always done a terrific job shaving him. I trust them and appreciate that they are not afraid to groom him. He's always so much more snuggly and present after he comes home clean and smelling like baby powder :). I don't write many reviews in fact this is my first time yelping. I've been here before and every time we bring a pet, there is 1000 questions asked as if the dog was abused. Fair enough, they truly care right? On this visit, our dog who stays indoors the whole time, came back with ticks and an ear infection. As of now, our whole house is infected with ticks. I'm sure glad you take the time out of your day to make sure the dog isn't abused. Our dog is a shy fella but from their story, he was aggressive. If you ask me sounds like he was mistreated. Took Bacon, our 4 month old miniature poodle to this great place. It's just a little place in a strip mall close to my house. I was recommended here and I'm so glad I brought him in. The owner was very nice and helpful. They were very fast and Bacon looked great when I picked him up. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because they don't take cards. Now that all the High Desert trolls are coming out I thought I might shed some light. We have been using Lacy for a couple of years now and have always been treated well. I even take my 12 year old shitzu with arthritis there because of the care and patience they give. Don't let the trolls scare you. They are the perfect people who never have made a mistake. These dogs are our kids and they act just like that...kids. they get into stuff. Lacy has always been fair. And im sure if the two complaints were as calm as they were typed out, Lacy would have had a chance. But knowing the HD troll mentality, I'll yell at you and then start a yelp or facebook rant so all the other trolls can feed off you as well. Go somewhere else, grow up and give Lacy a chance. I have been a long time client of Paws and Jaws and they never disappoint me. They have very reasonable prices & are very patient and loving to each & every furbaby. Even with my big dog Angel in her final days they did everything they could to clean her up & make her beautiful once again. I don't know what you guys are doing over there, but you have not only traumatized one of my dogs, you've burned the private parts of my other dog by using clippers on her when you've been specifically instructed only to use scissors due to her sensitivity. Talk about excessive burning too!! I know you know this for a fact because YOU WROTE IT DOWN YOURSELF ON HER INFO CARD NOT TO USE CLIPPERS. The last time I let it slip, thinking it was just a simple mistake...seeing as I've been a patron there for a few years and had no previous problems. But now, I know you people don't pay attention. Plus, what the hell did you do to psychologically traumatize my other dog...a dog that couldn't stop being happy for anything- EXCEPT when she came back from YOUR establishment. I'm not the only one you pulled some crap on this week from what I've heard thru the grapevine. Don't expect my business any more. Everyone in the high desert should know just what vile treatment pets receive while in your care. Shame on you. You should have to pay my $400 vet bill. And not all the "positive" comments in the world can right this wrong, so save your time and breath people who love this place. It is what it is. read more

We took our Bassett Hound and Shih Tzu here and in the care of these groomers our Bassett Hound passed away. She loved going to the groomers and she was healthy and wasn't acting funny or anything. They told me that they had her out of her crate the whole time she was there & when they went to put a larger dog on the table who bites thats when they crated her. Then someone looked over and saw something wasn't right. They pulled her out of the crate and ran to the vets office next door. They did cpr on her but couldn't bring her back. Our Bassett Hound loved to bark and howl when she was at the groomers so we are wondering now if maybe she was given something to calm her down & maybe they gave her too much. Because the person who washed her was very upset and the vet had told me that he had been down to see her body a few times before I got there and was really having a hard time with it. It just doesn't all add up. Also I had to pay to dispose of her body and this groomers still made me pay for my Shih Tzu. You would think that there would be a little more sympathy because HELLO I just lost my dog! She was part of our family. So maybe do a little more research before you take your pet there. Also when they were telling me what had happened, this large dog that bites, fell off the table just hanging by the leash and these people didn't even rush back to pick her up! I will never believe any one found their animal had been abused - I have brought them some pretty spoiled dogs that were not easy to handle and there has never been anything but excellent work and great care. I have been bringing my Mother's Yorkies and Jack Russell Terriers for 16 years and I have never been disappointed. read more

I cannot believe this place has gotten such good reviews. They were good before the old owner left but ever since the new people took over they are the WORST!!! I took my dogs here for years and the new groomers mistreated my dogs to the point that they are afraid to even enter the door. They showed their fear by pulling against the lease and trying everything not to go in. I would advise everyone to stay as far away from this place as possible. My dogs are much happier going to the new groomer and no longer fight me when I take them to be groomed. These people need to be reported to the ASPCA read more
