Horrific standards and a disturbing lack of compassion. I adopted a Guinea Pig and was informed…read morethat he had a case of ringworm, but it was treated and taken care of. The original red flag should have been how carelessly the employee grabbed the guinea pig, threw him in a box, and handed him to me to carry throughout the store and when I asked if there was a place I could set him in the meantime (to lessen the already traumatic experience of moving for them) I was told no and I was forced to walk through the store with an increasingly traumatized animal. I asked for documentation and was told they "do not do that" I noticed the guinea pig scratching quite frequently, but thought it may related to the previous condition clearing up. 2 months later, I noticed a patch of fur is falling out and upon further inspection I found a large, raw lesion on his back, consistent with ringworm. I called to resolve this, (understanding that this was out of their 14 day health guarantee, but hoping for some kind of compassion for the animal and sympathy for the pain they have caused it.) and was dismissed, talked down to by the elderly woman "manager", and told if I "would do some research" I would find that this is just something that happens with them. I have loved and cared for many guinea pigs in the past and know for a fact it is not as common as they claim (In a well cared for animal). Furthermore I was told that they have no knowledge of ever having a guinea pig with ringworm, and they would have just adopted him out for free (the guinea pig was on "sale" when I purchased him). I was told my option is I can surrender him to them because their main priority is "the wellbeing of the animal". I would NEVER under ANY circumstances allow anything I care for to be "taken care of" by the employees I had experiences with. My personal impression on the "manager" I spoke to is this: I have never spoken to someone in animal care who showed such little compassion for an animal that was clearly suffering due to their own neglect. The way my concerns were dismissed left me highly skeptical if the wellbeing of the animal is truly as much of a "priority" as she claimed...

WORST PLACE EVER!! I will never ever go back! Had boarded our dog 3-4 times in the past…read more Recently was last summer. She's a 10 pound Maltese, never ever bit anyone in 15 years of having her. Rude, insensitive, entitled lady behind the counter. Denied her treat of Denta Stix which shes had for ten years, saying it's a choking hazard. This lady was on a power trip, not nice, not welcoming, doesn't like her job obviously. Filled all the papers out. Dog had all necessary vacinations. She bent down and tried to put a lease around her neck. Dog has cataracts and is hard of hearing too. Dog snipped at her. I asked her to give the dog a few minutes to calm down since this is a stranger she cant see trying to put something around her neck. She refused and told us she couldn't take out dog!!!! At the last moment before we leave for out week long vacation she says she can not take the dog!!!!!! No apologies just flat out can't take her!! We had no one or no where to take her since it's the Fourth of July weekend!! This person didn't care about any of that. Ruining our vacation didn't matter to her. To top if off I was told by a Danielle that she'd hate to report my dog to animal control if she bit anyone!! This dog who has had a rabies shot was going to be reported to animal control?? Are you kidding me? For what for them to come take and euthanize her? Stay far away from this place. The store manager was no better except supporting his staff! I wouldn't leave a fly here!!

After we did one set of sessions with another trainer and having several highly recommended dog…read moretraining schools that were shut down last year due to the pandemic we wound up working on dog training solo. Our German Shepherd pup had so many issues in the beginning & spent many visits at the Vet, then at the same time I was at my end with serious health issues with father in law tapping my husband's strength and involvement I was so desperate many times with hoping we could keep our beloved puppy. It's been a hard road, we have tried to learn a lot to self teach ourselves and researched more local training facilities but nothing seemed to fit. Our first consultation with Ryan gave us a lot of confidence that finally a solid professional dog trainer. When he and Sarah came for our first session we were absolutely astounded. They truly are very in tune to the dog and they were also extremely capable of engaging us to be apart of the training. Their love for the pup and what they do shines through! I loved learning how to break down each little piece of learning about what our goals were and working with my Jedi to see her GET IT. I became more amazed at what dogs are capable of than I ever knew was in these incredible animals we become family with. We have made more progress with northBound Dog Training in short order that I think is a testimony to their skills and ability to capture what we need to know and what our dog needs from us. They really get how the dog is wired up and honing in on the dog's awareness, as well as reading the dog for tolerating how much time is needed for the work your doing. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a caring, kind, skilled and capable dog trainer that will listen to you as the owner and help you understand the ways they do their work to have you be apart of it. Equipping you to be capable too! I wish I had them at the beginning when I was near melting down once a week, but better late than never! I don't feel lost and alone in the journey now, or like drowning in online floods of options that make your head spin. Yep.. I can't say enough good things about them. Ya might want to call them and shut me up! Haha!
