(We have the same tank, heater, filter, substrate, plants, and decorations.) And we used the same water with around 90 drops of betta conditioner and we cycled the water for same same time (also, I forgot to mention that she got her snails from petco too and they are the only animals in her tank that are thriving.) Really says something about how petsmart treats their animals.

Rude, insensitive, entitled lady behind the counter. Denied her treat of Denta Stix which shes had for ten years, saying it's a choking hazard. This lady was on a power trip, not nice, not welcoming, doesn't like her job obviously. Filled all the papers out. Dog had all necessary vacinations. She bent down and tried to put a lease around her neck. Dog has cataracts and is hard of hearing too. Dog snipped at her. I asked her to give the dog a few minutes to calm down since this is a stranger she cant see trying to put something around her neck. She refused and told us she couldn't take out dog!!!! At the last moment before we leave for out week long vacation she says she can not take the dog!!!!!! No apologies just flat out can't take her!! We had no one or no where to take her since it's the Fourth of July weekend!! This person didn't care about any of that. Ruining our vacation didn't matter to her. To top if off I was told by a Danielle that she'd hate to report my dog to animal control if she bit anyone!! This dog who has had a rabies shot was going to be reported to animal control?? Are you kidding me? For what for them to come take and euthanize her? Stay far away from this place. The store manager was no better except supporting his staff! I wouldn't leave a fly here!!

So it was with great trepidation that we took Charlie to a "Big Box" groomer. I was immediately put at ease when we entered and were greeted warmly by the two young ladies at the grooming reception desk. They welcomed Charlie as if she were their own dog and I was truly overjoyed when I picked her up a few hours later and saw the beautiful job Joyce had done with Charlie's cut. It was immediately obvious that she was inexperienced and unsure of how to groom my Pomeranian. The haircut was uneven, completely botched, and to my horror, she even cut off my dog's whiskers. Since that visit, my dog has been noticeably traumatized--nervous, jumpy, and not acting like himself. Whiskers are essential to a dog's well-being, and any properly trained groomer should know that. I understand that employees must learn, but it should never be at the expense of someone's pet. I ask that Petco better supervise and train new groomers before assigning them to customers. When I went to pay, the cashier informed me the price was $70 + a tip. With my previous male Cavalier, the highest price ever paid in 16 years was $48 + tip. He was twice my female's height/weight with a much heavier coat. I thought $70+ tip was excessive for a 12 lb. Cavalier. I thought the groomer did an okay job but never trimmed any body fur and the butt was a bit scruffy and looked a bit unfinished. Chest feathering was not trimmed at all. Being retired on a fixed income, I think I will look around more before I schedule my two year old Cavalier for her next grooming appointment.
