I usually go to Petsmart more, but I love stopping in at Petco as well. The store has a different setup, but the same type of animals. They have guinea pigs, ferrets, mice, snakes, hamsters, lizards, snakes, birds, fish, cats, gerbils, chameleons, iguanas, geckos, etc. I think it is awesome that they have a huge turtle tank. There are lots of things you can buy for tanks for turtles and other animals such as snakes and lizards. They have everything a pet can need. They have a cute home furnishings area and a salon (closed on tuesday and thursdays). I also love the mini cat adoption area, but I wish they had more. They were all older cats today. We also saw a VetCo clinic. Something interesting I saw was the raw premium food and treats. Quite pricey option, but a smart one. This store is super clean.

    Happy dog coming home!

He's a Coton de Tulear, so he needs regular grooming, he loves to go see Samantha, I believe she treats him with kindness as he is a very perceptive dog and is filled with joy when he leaves. I have also used their boarding facilities at the Mound Road location. They walk the dogs outside everyday through snow, sleet, rain etc. The dogs are given training and lots of play time. The owner Christine Fox believes that dogs need to be stimulated both physically and mentally. They have great learning and play areas. I have and will continue to recommend Wag 'N' Tails to everyone!

We usually saw Amanda, who is now longer with them which I knew because I did receive an email. When I arrived, I was told by Cassidy that the appointment was now with her. I questioned this, but she seemed confused and insisted I had booked with her. I assumed I had made a mistake--but after checking my confirmation, I was right: I had booked with Jessica. The appointment was for our 10-pound Maltipoo, who needed a full shave-down after a week of camping. He was definitely a mess, but nothing out of the ordinary. What was unexpected was the way he behaved the next day--clearly uncomfortable and not himself. I called several times, but no one answered the phone. When I finally received a call back the next day, I was told nothing had happened and that they had no idea what was wrong. They scheduled a phone call with the owner, Christine, for Saturday. I made adjustments to my work schedule to be available. Saturday came and went--no call. I didn't hear from Christine until Wednesday, and by then I had already taken my dog to the vet twice, spending hundreds of dollars. The diagnosis: post-grooming furunculosis, most likely caused by clippers. (Per my vet) We played phone tag for a week, and when I finally connected with someone, it was an employee who apologized on behalf of the owner for the missed call. I never heard directly from Christine again--despite knowing a serious issue occurred under her business's care. The lack of accountability and professionalism was extremely disappointing. And you can save your generic copy and paste response to all the other yelp reviews that I'm currently now seeing it took me a while to write this because I was really upset and had I wrote this immediately my review would be much worse. To make matters worse, they also missed clipping his dew claws. We will absolutely not be returning. A sincere follow-up from the owner could have gone a long way--but unfortunately, that never happened. I am happy to report. I did find the location where Amanda is grooming and will make the trip out to Rochester just to see her knowing I never had a problem.

Neptune is a great and sweet dog but we had some barking issues EVERY NIGHT about the time we wanted to sit and unwind from our day-despite him getting plenty of exercise. At times, Neptune would bark in the middle of the night for over an hour, or more. While I am sure he heard something, we heard nothing and it was extremely frustrating. Also, Neptune would get so hyper when a door opened or someone was at the door, we worried he would run out. Dave, Michelle, and their amazing staff provided so much help and support from the beginning of the journey. I took K9's puppy class and as a result I was able to teach Neptune a few of the basics. At times I would go to the store at 25 mile and Van Dyke and I felt they were providing me therapy. As the barking continued, I decided to call and see about some training. Even though K9 Kindergarten was no longer around the corner, Dave and Michelle were just a phone call away and they certainly came to my rescue. Dave came over and we discussed my goals, which were to control the barking a bit and give Neptune some "off leash" experience by having him master the come command, which would also help with our fear of him running off. After a couple days of training with Dave you could see a difference, after a week the difference was amazing. My little dog that barked at everything (and nothing) was more calm and more confident, if that makes sense. When I used the come command he would actually come to me. I was amazed and a little upset I didn't do this sooner! Neptune easily allows me to put on his e collar, which he only wears a few hours a day and when he is off leash. I have to say I pretty much never need to "correct" him. If he starts barking and I tell him to "leave it", he stops barking. A MIRACLE! If the there is a knock at the door, he still barks but it's not as crazy and he stops upon me telling him to "leave it." If I can't find him in the house, I tell him to come and he does. If he is off leash and I tell him to come-he listens. It really has helped with our overall enjoyment of our sweet boy. I've had follow up questions and Dave and Michelle are always prompt at returning calls and eager to help with any questions or concerns. Also, it's so nice to give Neptune the freedom to run around (within reason and in a safe area) off leash. Dave's training has given us the ability to enjoy our dog throughout the day and not dread the evening hours which in turn makes everyone happier-especially me. It is also nice to not have the constant fear of him running off any time a door opens since we can calm him down with a simple leave it and tell him to come if he starts to go in another direction. Thank you Dave for training Neptune

I went in to talk to the owner and he tried telling me our dog was severely abused and mistreated. Our dog is 13 years old and very much a big part of our loving family so for him to accuse us of mistreating our dog is down right wrong and the owner refused my money back. I told him it is obvious the groomer has never groomed a Bichon before and he tried telling me our dog was so matted because he was mistreated. He refused to even reason with me and told me to wait seven months for the dogs hair to grow out and then go somewhere else. Really? You are the owner and that is how you treat your customers? Pathetic. My father who is elderly paid him $40.00 for a hack job. They didn't even clip his nails and I doubt they even bathed him. How do you take $40.00 from an elderly man and think that is ok? Sadly our veterinarian is leasing the back part of his store because I doubt I will ever go in there again and the vet will lose good customers because of the owners ignorance. To anyone who owns a Bichon....I do NOT recommend this place for grooming. In fact I don't recommend them at all. I see other reports that are not good either from other customers. Read them before you spend your money! You won't get it back and you won't be happy.

Do Not Trust This Facility -- They Lied, My Dog Got Sick, and They Showed No Accountability…read more I sent my dog here for confidence-building--and instead, she came home traumatized and physically ill. She contracted kennel cough during her first week, which was confirmed by my vet. When I notified the facility, they refused to inform other customers, and chose to keep operating as if nothing had happened. I have four dogs at home--now they're all sick, and I'm stuck with over $1,000 in vet bills. On top of that, the experience was deeply unprofessional: * They never provided any report card or update on my dog's first week. * At pickup, my dog was actively coughing, and staff were cold, dismissive, and rude--clearly trying to distance themselves from any accountability. * I had to get a lawyer involved just to cancel the remaining weeks and force a refund of the money I had paid. * Their business practices are shady--they use bait-and-switch tactics, pressuring you to sign fast, then changing terms. If you ask questions, they belittle you. This is not a safe or honest place. They may operate under a well-known franchise, but there is no integrity, no transparency, and no real care for your dog. Please don't make the same mistake--choose a local, reputable trainer who puts your dog first.
