I called to put something on hold. Then when I went down to pick it up probably an hour later, one of the employees told me he had sold it to someone else, thinking they were the person they put it on hold for(??? Even though I gave them my name and they had it written on a paper slip attached to the thing) When I was upset about it and told him he should've asked their name to confirm it was really the person who put it on hold, he angrily told me "it's not MY FAULT!!" Which seemed like he was telling me it was my fault. Sorry but I don't see how you selling something that was put on hold for someone else is anyone's but your fault. It was a young ish dude with glasses and a tattoo on his ear. Don't know his name. After being treated like that, I'll definitely never go back. Only redeeming quality was that another employee was very apologetic even though he wasn't the one who made the mistake. Very disappointing for many reasons. read more

I'm a Marine Corps Veteran with head trauma and other medical issues. My memory is not as good and I get distracted and loose track of time and dates. I almost forgot my time was due for a pawn and was late but all went very well. Syd the science girl was kind and patient when dealing with me. She took it upon herself to help make sure I don't forget next time and was very considerate. She highlighted and went over everything and explained to me how to watch for dates and how your policies work. Outstanding customer service. I AM EMBARRASSED! VERY EMBARRASSED! I have been a customer of this store since the location opened. Pawn One Monroe, could be called a neighborhood store back then. I think the Monroe Pawn One could have been Pawn One's second or third location. It was wild back in those early days. The store could have been called family owned and operated then. Now!!!! Wow, Pawn One has changed! Though the family is around. It is rare to see the folks in the store. Instead, you are now greeted by a professional staff. At this location the staff is headed by Tearin the store manager & Morgan his right hand man. Both of these men continue to be gentlemen at all times! Amidst the storm of humanity, going through hard times. These two men behave like firemen. Rescuing people in the worst of situations. I see these folks at work almost twice a week. I have been shopping here in this store near two times a week since it opened! And not until this moment have I thought to write the stores PRAISE! I have always been treated with Familiarity! "WELCOME TO PAWN ONE!" They always look up, and greet me. Tearin searches for eye contact. Tearin the Manager here sets the stores tone, the staffs tone even hard working Tracy, looks to Tearin for his knowledge. This is for the Hilliard location. The first Pawn1 I went to on Sprague was much more helpful. I was looking for a few snowboards which I know are out of season but my son wanted me to make shelves out of them for his room. The guy on Sprague said they had just sent a bunch of old ones to the Hilliard location since they had more storage space. The Hilliard location would not even look or sell them to me because they were out of season even though they had a "bunch" in the back, even boards they've had for multiple seasons and can't sell. Umm so I'm here willing to buy something you've said just doesn't sell and you still won't just walk to the back and get them so I can buy them. Yeah that makes a lot of sense for your business. While the associates are nice, I find myself repeatedly disappointed with the service. I understand that they're short handed, but when you wait for an extended amount of time to get someones attention every time, it leaves a bad taste for a place. Also, multiple disks in the display cases are seriously scratched/damaged ... The lack of attention to customers and merchandise me wonder what exactly they DO pay attention to. read more

I am not a fan of pawn shops in general but they can be useful in certain situations. This location however is terrible. The staff is rude, especially to women. The selection is small and over priced. I frequented this store because it is in my neighborhood but no longer. After realizing i was angry everytime i left the store i never went back. read more

Was in the store the other day, and never got any help after 15 to 20 minutes. With 5 workers, 2 of which were helping people. Maybe they were handling issues on the computer but I was not even acknowledged. To bad, because I was ready to buy something. read more

I have never pawned anything but like to see what they have to sell. They are reasonable with their prices and employees are very nice . Also they let you return items that your not happy with. That's always a plus. read more

On Tuesday October the 23rd 2018, I sent my girlfriend to the north pawn one in spokane to verify authenticity of a cross necklace purchased from Macys for $499 plus tax. So she went inside pawn 1 to get it checked, she was assisted by a manager named Arye, he verified it was real 10k gold and the baguette and princess cut diamonds were in fact real. Then my girlfriend asked how much she could get if she was to pawn it. The guy responded with an accusation that she was trying to run a scam on the store and said he would only give her $40 for the necklace. This is after it was tested to verify authenticity.. Then he proceeded to tell her (my girlfriend) that she just left the valley store and tried to run the scam on the valley store. My girlfriend of course said no, I had just gotten up from sleeping and went rite to the north store and the necklace was around my neck the whole night and day. I haven't taken it off since I got the necklace. Its way too beautiful to just let it sit... So then the "manager" argued with her calling her a liar and insisting she tried to run some scam. I am currently in the middle of getting upper management involved as this is completely unacceptable behavior from a any customer service member let alone a member of management..
