I went to Double Eagle Pawn a few months ago. I spent over $1,000 that day. I purchased a gold chain with a pendant, together they were $500. I found out a few weeks after buying them that the CHAIN WAS FAKE GOLD!! So I took it back to the Francis store. Their policy is no refunds or exchanges. Now I see why. They told me If I brought the pendant back in with the chain they could asses the value of the chain. However I had giving the pendant as a gift and no longer had it. I got the run around. I asked them why can't they exchange the chain for a real one? They have other chains that are the same length and all that, it should have been real easy to simply exchange for the fake one they sold me. I still have not gotten the exchange. I feel like I was scammed. Next time I go shopping at a pawn shop not only will it NOT be at Double Eagle but I'll bring a magnet with me. Do not shop at the Francis store. Came in to have a custom made gold chain priced. Was told the chain was fake because it did not look like "Thai Gold" my custom made high karat chain had a Thai style clasp. This is beside the point. No effort was made to verify authenticity, and the employee refused to look me in the face and talk directly to me. I was treated with no respect, and I would caution people to come here only if they know exactly what they are bringing in. Recently purchased a brand new Washburn acoustic electric guitar, an amp, and a cord at the Double Eagle on Francis. It was out of tune, their tuner was broken and a guy was playing a plugged in electric guitar so I decided to take it home to try it out. It wasn't near the quality I was hoping for, plus they had sold me an amp for electric guitars. Tried to return everything 2 days later and they said 'All sales are final'. This was $660 at stake! There were no signs posted, no one mentioned this to me. I was now told it's on your receipt. So it was... in faded ink (do you read all your receipts?) By the time I would have seen it, the sale was already done anyhow. I spoke with the manager, then the manager's boss and the best they would do was a $198 loss to me. I got Red Steel2 for the Wii for about $5, my husband got a metal file for less than $2 after the guy said, "Give me a number." Brian on the phone who handles their online department said, "Honestly no, I would relist the item, you would have to bid on it". These guys DO NOT care about LOCAL BUSINESS! Obviously they are in the market of taking your stuff and selling it on Ebay rather than providing a good local market and satisfaction. I called first to see if they were even buying silver rings since the silver market is soft. I described rings over the phone: a 3/4 ct sapphire in a simple setting & a 2 1/2 ct tw garnets in a chunky setting - very unique style. I was advised by the pleasant man who answered the phones that yes they are buying but would need to see them of course... So I drive across the Valley to their store, using half the gas in my tank to do so and entered the store. An older man at the counter brusquely asked if he could help.
