We've been to this location multiple times and never had an issue. We never really say anything to the owner at least I think he's the owner, but we just explain the service that we want and the dogs usually come back perfect. Today when we picked our babies up, I noticed that one of my dogs was tending to her back paw and it was bleeding. We called the vet and they asked us to bring her in so that they could take a look. I rushed her straight to the vet, and they wrapped her paw in a boot, gave her pain medication, etc. it was obvious that her claws were clipped far too closely and caused bleeding and pain. This is a situation that I would never want anyone's animal to experience. I never expected to have to rush my dog to the vet after a grooming appointment, and I am extremely disappointed and saddened by this experience. Please take better care of peoples animals and be much more careful in the future. Of course, we will not be returning, but I wanted to advise others of the situation. read more

Samy's Dog Grooming is the best on this side of town! I've lived in Henderson over 10 years now and have taken my pups to them many times! With a Goldendoodle it can be hard to find the perfect groomers who won't leave your dog butchered. I've taken pictures and they match the look to a tee!! They are also super loving of my pups and do a good job communicating if there's ever an issue or change in price! Nice people but just left the vet. My dog started getting scabs around the genitalia after the first time being groomed here. When the scabs started spreading I went to the vet. Sure enough its a bacterial infection. This groomer( blond female) must not have cleaned her equiptment. $75 for the groom and another $100 at the vet. The first time I went I had great service. The second time, the owner was kind of rude but I let it slide. A year later I take my dog back and the owner is even more rude. I made an appointment a week ahead of time because I knew I'd have a busy week and I was assured the time slot was good and not busy. He overbooks himself, which means he probably doesn't think about sanitizing his clippers/supplies that they use after every pet. Although the grooming made my dog look great, I got distracted by the outer appearance. I called after I waited 3-hrs (in the past it was 1-1.5 hrs till he was done), I asked for an estimated time so I can be on my way (as I live 20ish mins away from this place), and Samy's response "Ay! I hate when you guys call to rush me! If you were in a rush, you should've told us that when you dropped him off! Ugh fine you can pick him up in 10 mins". Sorry Sir, but I asked for an estimated time so I know when to head over. Again, I don't live near this place. If the owner himself has no manners, how can I trust that he or his staff won't mistreat my pet? Clearly he has no problem being rude to his customers. My dog was perfectly fine before I took him in. Throughout the day, and the day after the grooming, my dog was itching most of the day & All night, plus he was flickering his ears. I figured maybe they cleaned his ears and he's uncomfortable. WRONG! My dog got some cuts from the clippers (they never mentioned this to me). This lead to an infection, from the unsanitary supplies that they use. He hates "rushing", which I'm sure doesn't give him time to sanitize much. Clearly he RUSHED the service and had no shame to say anything about it. A $40 grooming service lead me to a $220+ visit to the Vet to be taken care of after Samy's carelessness. NEVER AGAIN read more

The owner is dismissive, rude, and called my dog "annoying." If my dog was annoying I would definitely be the first to admit it . But she (a husky) is 9, calm, and crate trained so does VERY well with ALL groomers I have ever brought her to. Never had a complaint. I used to go here frequently to bring her for a bath a deshedding. I did, because the prices were cheaper for the decent-to-okay job they did. But I ALWAYS tipped extremely well and even put up with the dismissive owner bc the prices were low. Not anymore. In a time when small local businesses need business, I will be finding a new place. The grooming floor literally has small dogs running around, barking, and pooping on the floor, but my bigger, quiet, crate trained dog is bothersome in a crate waiting for me to pick her up after they call me (which is not long).... I don't know, if you're like me, I just don't like taking my time to spend extra money to tip well and bring my business to somebody who doesn't appreciate it. I've been taking my dogs to Samy's for about 3+ years because he was affordable since I started with 2 dogs (but now I have 8). He was wonderfully affordable because I used to pay $80 - $90 for my 2 small fur babies. I've noticed that since the new owner, Bobby, the prices keep climbing. Earlier this year I met him and he said he would grandfather me in because I'm a regular of Samy's. So, when I was there in Jan, I had paid $45/dog. When Bobby asked Samy what I was charged, samy told him $50/dog which is what the guy said he'd do, is increase the rate by $5. Well, I had to pay $55/dog x 3. I tried telling Bobby I was there 4-5 wks prior & paid $45/ea but he wouldn't hear it. I have 4 puppies I needed to experience grooming after their last set of shots. Since I was there about 5 wks earlier, I'm expecting to pay $55/ PUPPY. When I was called to get them, it was $60/ puppy. I was trying not to blow up at them because they're nice but that dug in my wallet. With the tip, I paid $280 for 4 puppies between 5 & 11 lbs. They looked cute and fluffy but not much of a trim since I wanted them evened out but still have a puppy cut. Within 2-3 days, their fluf turned into mattes. I got angry because they never matted before going to them. I was still combing out mattes yesterday and it's been about a month since I've been there. I'm just very disappointed because Samy's (not sure the new business name) is 2 mins from my house. I was happy with the job they did, except once, in Feb, I did notice my 9 mo old puppy had a bleed from his quick. It was his first grooming and no one said anything. I get him in the car and he's BLEEDING all over the leather seats. I wish someone spoke up about it because I was distressed to see that much fresh blood coming from his nail. I've started shopping for others groomers. Samy didn't used to cage my dogs but since the new owner, they are always locked up together in a cage while the owner's dog and cat get to roam around the place. Letting them play and socialize is important when they're in that kind of stressful environment. I'm even willing to drive my dogs 5+ hours to go to the groomer my daughter works at not only because they have affordable rates & let the dogs play but because I know my daughter will make sure they're taken care of. read more
