My wife called Breville and they told her it was malfunctioning and to bring it back as the water didn't heat and it didn't drip. We attempted to return it to the Sur La Table in Mizner Park in Boca Raton with the original purchase receipt from West Palm Beach. The manager of the Boca Raton store, Anastasia said that since it was opened and used that she would not be able to issue a credit throughout credit card account, but could exchange it or give us an in store credit. This is contrary to what was printed on the receipt. From other stores, we have made a purchase at one store and returned it to another of their stores. Recently, we purchased something from Tommy Bahama when we were in Sarasota and was able to return it to the Tommy Bahama in the Boca Raton mall. There was no issue as we had the original receipt. Why did we get a hard time returning a defective coffee maker to another Sur La Table? We tried setting up the coffee maker but we never were able to use it as it didn't work. We now have to make another trip to West Palm Beach to return the coffee maker to the Sur La Table that we purchased it from within the 30 day return period. This is a big inconvenience to us. We will be telling our friends and neighbors about this experience at the Boca Raton Sur La Table. We no longer will shop at Sur La Table.

First off, I love cooking. I'm a foodie at heart. When I first moved to South Florida 2 years ago,…read moreI found Culinary Convenience on Yelp and was very curious. And it's OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!!! Not just for chefs. Yayyyyyy. Fast forward to 2021 and I had asked my chef friend for a recommendation on a place to get my Henckels knife set sharpened. He immediately suggested Culinary Convenience and told me to ask for Aaron Michaels who is the owner. Well, this convo was about 6 month ago as I slacked and never made it here. I had to drop someone off to Ft. Lauderdale Airport and was heading to a local coffee shop when I drove by this store and remembered the name and realized it was the chef supply store I've been dying to visit. Funny how things work. It's a cool store with dreamy chef and kitchen toys galore. I swear I took about an hour just strolling through the store taking my sweet time admiring everything. They have EVERYTHING!!! Chef's uniforms, shoes, aprons, bakeware, pots, pans, knives, serving dishes, the small stuff, the big stuff...just EVERYTHING! I asked questions and started talking with Allison. She was very friendly and helpful. I was mesmerized by the Breville Smoking Gun and have been eyeing this for years now. I really want one. The one they had at the store is a professional grade one, not like the one you see at Williams-Sonoma or Sur la Table. She noticed I was curious and asked if I wanted to see a demonstration. Heck yes!!! She showed me step by step how to use it and it was ridiculously cool. Yes, I still want one!!! Ha. I inquired about knife sharpening and got more info on that. I also started looking at the Japanese knives as I've been wanting a really nice Japanese chef's knife too. They had a beautiful selection of gorgeous knives. I've been wanting a Damascus style Japanese knife. Allison helped me by answering all my questions. She pulled out the MIyabi and Kikuichi knives. The Miyabi caught my eye. I love the design and simplicity. It's a sexy AF knife!!! They didn't have the Miyabi chef's knife I wanted but said they were currently on order. A gentleman who noticed I was having a hard time deciding on the knives told me the Miyabi is a wonderful option and introduced himself as Aaron, the owner. I said hi and told him the story of my friend who initially sent me here. Aaron knew exactly who I was talking about. We started chatting about our mutual friend, the hospitality industry, how he started his business and a funny story about his brother. Aaron has a very enthusiastic vibe and energy about him. I love his excitement when he talks about things. He was down to earth and so fun. He even pulled out his phone to take a selfie of us to send to our mutual friend. Funny too because I was thinking about doing the same thing. Haha. Needless to say, I really had a wonderful experience at Culinary Convenience and I may end up spending too much money here. I eventually came back because Allison called me the next day to let me know the knife I wanted arrived after I left the store. I came back a few days later and bought the said beautiful sexy AF Miyabi Japanese knife. And brought my knives in to get sharpened too. I also met Kieran, the store manager, who was also very helpful regarding my knives that needed sharpening. Bottom line, excellent spot for all your kitchen needs. Be careful, you might go browsing and leave with a gorgeous Japanese knife. Haha. It's not a terrible thing either. I'm madly in love with my knife. Huge difference even cutting veggies and herbs. Go check it out ASAP! You won't regret it. Thanks Aaron, Allison and Kieran for the amazing customer service. I need to come back for that Breville Smoking Gun, because everyone needs one of those right?

Best bet is to get very fair priced but excellent kitchen wares from a reputable store like The Restaurant Warehouse. As far as I can tell, the store specializes in providing supplies for restaurants; everything from pots/pans to deep fryers and condiment bottles to glassware and knives, even everything a pizza shop could ever dream of. But at the same time, everything a person needs for their home can be purchased here too... We got tired of buying thousand dollar sets of pots/pans from Caphalon... and the sets always include numerous pieces that are too small to be useful and always lack the over-sized that we need (we cook BIG). We ended up purchasing all new pots/pans here a couple weeks ago and got all the "right" sizes and types of pans we needed, including the over-sized we needed and only got the smaller ones that we actually wanted. The guys at the shop were patient in assisting us and never pressured us into buying more than we needed or extra stuff we won't use. We've even returned to check out some other things and now are buying mixing bowls. Everyone here provided top notch customer service.

A lot of people don't realize this, but Costco sells more wine than anyone else in the U.S. True to…read moreform, they sell both wine and spirits at very low markups. While their core business isn't focused on the ultra-high-end wine market, their enormous buying power allows them to occasionally offer very rare and expensive bottles... often at pricing that's surprisingly reasonable given the market. Unfortunately, pricing on the world's greatest wines has gotten out of control. First Growth Bordeaux like Haut-Brion, for example, used to sell for around $40 a bottle in the 1980s. Seeing it today at $699 puts it out of reach for most people... but it's still amazing to see bottles like that on display at Costco. That said, Costco really shines in offering excellent, high-quality wines that are still accessible. You can find terrific values like Clos du Val Cabernet around $40, along with consistently good pricing on well known items such as Veuve Clicquot Champagne. If you know what you're looking for, Costco remains one of the best places anywhere to buy wine -- from everyday bottles to rare gems.

Their produce can be a little hit and miss at times, but it's good more often than not. As for non-food items, the Kirkland brand of paper towels and toilet paper are top of the line. They also have a pretty good selection of clothing here and you can catch some of the items deeply discounted if you're lucky. Oh yeah, Costco is a great spot for linens and towels too! They recently had very hjgh quality, plush bath towels for $6.99 each which was a steal. I totally stocked up. One thing to note, they often rotate products out, so if you like something make sure to stock up on it. One the one hand it's kind of a bummer when you find a gem and it disappears, but they are very good about replacing stuff with new and interesting products and I guess they kind of keeps things fresh for the customers. As for the mechanics of the place, the checkout gets very busy, but the cashiers do a great job and move it along quickly. There's also plenty of parking, but it can get very hectic in the morning and around 5pm. I personally prefer to go at like 730pm, an hour before close, as it's much more relaxed than at peak times. Also, pro tip: never ever go on the weekend or before a holiday, it's absolute mayhem. What else can I say? You gotta love Costco. Five stars from me, best of the best as far as I'm concerned.
