First off, I love cooking. I'm a foodie at heart. When I first moved to South Florida 2 years ago, I found Culinary Convenience on Yelp and was very curious. And it's OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!!! Not just for chefs. Yayyyyyy. Fast forward to 2021 and I had asked my chef friend for a recommendation on a place to get my Henckels knife set sharpened. He immediately suggested Culinary Convenience and told me to ask for Aaron Michaels who is the owner. Well, this convo was about 6 month ago as I slacked and never made it here. I had to drop someone off to Ft. Lauderdale Airport and was heading to a local coffee shop when I drove by this store and remembered the name and realized it was the chef supply store I've been dying to visit. Funny how things work. It's a cool store with dreamy chef and kitchen toys galore. I swear I took about an hour just strolling through the store taking my sweet time admiring everything. They have EVERYTHING!!! Chef's uniforms, shoes, aprons, bakeware, pots, pans, knives, serving dishes, the small stuff, the big stuff...just EVERYTHING! I asked questions and started talking with Allison. She was very friendly and helpful. I was mesmerized by the Breville Smoking Gun and have been eyeing this for years now. I really want one. The one they had at the store is a professional grade one, not like the one you see at Williams-Sonoma or Sur la Table. She noticed I was curious and asked if I wanted to see a demonstration. Heck yes!!! She showed me step by step how to use it and it was ridiculously cool. Yes, I still want one!!! Ha. I inquired about knife sharpening and got more info on that. I also started looking at the Japanese knives as I've been wanting a really nice Japanese chef's knife too. They had a beautiful selection of gorgeous knives. I've been wanting a Damascus style Japanese knife. Allison helped me by answering all my questions. She pulled out the MIyabi and Kikuichi knives. The Miyabi caught my eye. I love the design and simplicity. It's a sexy AF knife!!! They didn't have the Miyabi chef's knife I wanted but said they were currently on order. A gentleman who noticed I was having a hard time deciding on the knives told me the Miyabi is a wonderful option and introduced himself as Aaron, the owner. I said hi and told him the story of my friend who initially sent me here. Aaron knew exactly who I was talking about. We started chatting about our mutual friend, the hospitality industry, how he started his business and a funny story about his brother. Aaron has a very enthusiastic vibe and energy about him. I love his excitement when he talks about things. He was down to earth and so fun. He even pulled out his phone to take a selfie of us to send to our mutual friend. Funny too because I was thinking about doing the same thing. Haha. Needless to say, I really had a wonderful experience at Culinary Convenience and I may end up spending too much money here. I eventually came back because Allison called me the next day to let me know the knife I wanted arrived after I left the store. I came back a few days later and bought the said beautiful sexy AF Miyabi Japanese knife. And brought my knives in to get sharpened too. I also met Kieran, the store manager, who was also very helpful regarding my knives that needed sharpening. Bottom line, excellent spot for all your kitchen needs. Be careful, you might go browsing and leave with a gorgeous Japanese knife. Haha. It's not a terrible thing either. I'm madly in love with my knife. Huge difference even cutting veggies and herbs. When I walked into Culinary Convenience I had thought I'd walked into a sort culinary equipment heaven. If the great master Escoffier were searching for cooking equipment, this would be a place he would come to. They have just about everything you might need from pots, pans, spatulas, infused oils, glasses, chef uniforms, blade sharpening service and one of the best and most extensive offerings in cutlery I've ever come across and all of it has quality. I came here as I needed a cooking pot that would be well suited for preparing Mussels Meuniere. When I walked in I was warmly greeted and when I mentioned what I had in mind he knew exactly what I was talking about and showed me several good options, one of which I selected. It turns out he happened to also be a skilled chef with a complete knowledge of cookware along with its preference according to use, which makes cookware shopping so much easier. Besides just purchasing the pot, I spent some time looking through the store and what was the best and most varied in cutlery that I've ever seen in a kitchen supply store, and also ended up buying one of new heat resistant plastic like spatulas along with some really gorgeous little sampler glasses with decorative modern green stems. Indeed this is a store in which I could have spent hours enjoying.....Five Stars. read more

Great store with lots of reasonable party/serving supplies as well as high end items. I found it by way of the knife sharpening services and now pop in regularly for anything from bamboo skewers, sauce bottles, knife sleeves... and so on. But don't get me wrong, the quality of the material and the knowledge of the management (Thanks Thomas James for your expertise) makes every minute worth every amount of your time. If you're into the gastronomical evolutions that have changed dining in the last ten years - this is your kind of store (nitrogen, all sorts of molecular equipment, sous vides, etc.). And if you're simply a perfectionist about cutting, carving, paring (etc.) - the knives where are unparalleled - thankfully they also sharpen knives so those of you with your own precious set(s) - you oughta check 'em out. The also come replete with chef uniforms, fancy schmancy clogs that might make Mario Batali jealous and tasteful sets of drinking glasses from sake to martinis, and did I mention the ret' to go Chocolate Fountain? Child, this is the pret-a-porte of the dining oeuvre and they're just waiting to help you plan your next event (while parting you from a good percentage of your money). I had two Japanese carbon steel knives repaired here, and I could not be happier with the work done. One of my knives just had a minor chip in the blade, but the other had the tip broken, and maybe 3-4 chips on the blade. The person repairing the blades did miracle work. Both knives look, and cut like they were brand new. The price was very affordable, too. One knife b/c it was single beveled cost around $25, and the other b/c it was double beveled was only $7. Most knives bought in America are double beveled, so you can get a knife repaired/sharpened at a very affordable price. It only took around 10 minutes to finish the repair of both knives. However, I stayed in the store for maybe 30 minutes, b/c I enjoyed walking around to see what they had for sale. They had all sorts of great knives, kitchen tools, and kitchen equipment for sale. I ended up leaving with my two knives, and a few other items, such as a knife bag, which I will use to transport knives for holiday trips, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. If you travel with knives, you need to get a carrying bag for them! The bag keeps the knives organized and safe from damage, and makes them very portable. read more
