More expensive than NYC…read more Came here with a friend around 1:40 pm on a Saturday and still waited in line for about 15 to 20 mins, outside the store. Once we got in, we were tested the temperature, given the hand sanitizer, and menus so we can think about what we want to order while waiting for another 5-7 mins. There's no table service. You decide what you want, then go to the counter where the sign says "order here", then pay upfront. You also get yourself water, silverware and napkins. So no service charge, which is a plus for someone like me who hate the tipping system in the States. So I saw the Garden Deluxe salad. Avocado, grilled peppers, scrambled eggs, and toasted bread; $128. Must be hell amount of goodness. So I went for it. When the salad plate arrived at my table, I was a bit shocked. SO SMALL portion like feeding a bird! The taste of each item on the plate was good (but not like "wow so good"), but I was FAR from being full even after consuming those 3 slices of toasts (well, crostino size tho). My friend had the carbonara. I think if you are hungry or aim for a proper lunch, go for the pasta. Can't go wrong with pasta, although my friend thought it was just alright, at least portion wise you'll feel money is not wasted. Coffees here range from $40-ish to $65-ish, pricey but as expected. I had the ginger latter. To me it tasted like virgin Delirium but bitter with a hint of ginger, which was okay. My friend ordered the tonic coffee and didn't say a word about how it tasted (LoL). Anyways, quite a popular place as there were still ppl waiting when we left 2 hours later. Love the industrial decors and ambience, but no thanks, not coming back.

When I saw the word 'brekkie', I immediately thought of Australia - it means 'breakfast' in their lingo. I'm thinking this cafe is possibly be Australian inspired :) This dish was prepared by the lady behind the counter with a small portable stove. I can feel the love as she delicately prepares this for us! We also ordered the Lavender Latte and the Matcha Magic. What is a Matcha Magic you ask? It is a Matcha Latte with a shot of espresso! Perfect for those who loves Matcha but also needed that caffeine boost lol. The Lavender Latte, surprisingly, does not have the usual overpowering lavender kick... it was very light and soothing. Recommendation: Would Why50 consider making a Lavender Mocha? ^^ Chocolate actually goes well together with the lavender taste ;) Keep up the great work!

Studio Caffeine is a great spot to get a well-made fry up/English breakfast in a few different…read morevarieties along with some strong espresso to wake yourself up. The restaurant is located right on Temple Street, easy to find. The inside is small, cozy, and clean, decorated in a rustic style with maybe 10 tables or so. When I arrived at about 10:30 AM on a Saturday there were several open tables, but by the time I left (a little after 11) the restaurant was full, so you may need to wait a bit if you arrive during rush times. The ordering process is order-at-the-counter style, with a staffer bringing your food and/or drinks when they're ready. Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. Overall, a fast and delicious experience at Studio Caffeine and I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast western-style breakfast in the area.

My friend and I were originally seated at the bar, a bit cramped due to our large carrying bags, but luckily a high table opened up and we moved there. We ordered the following: - Blackbeard Secret (Coca-Cola with a shot of espresso) $40 - Definitely not what I expected at all. Interesting combination, but not particularly fond of it. - Rose Latte $45 - Best I've tasted in HK! Very delicate and delicious! You can taste the rose flavor, which I enjoyed very much. I suppose you can say I'm going through a rose-flavor phase, from my previous review, haha. - Orange Caramel Mocha $45- I was concerned that the caramel would make it too sweet, but it was just right. I love the combination of anything with orange and chocolate, so this was right up my alley. - Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting - absolutely divine. - Almond croissant - sublime. The food was served on a cute wooden board. The almond croissant was warmed up, perfect. Overall a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy some delicious coffee and treats!

I'm surprised to see reviews praising the coffee here. I tried both the cappuccino and the latte…read moreand they are unequivocally bad. My rating is based on the following: Coffee: 1.5 stars Environment: 3 stars The cappuccino had no foam what so ever and even with the milk the bitterness of the coffee really cut through. The coffee is strong so if you need a pick me up this would do. Using Starbucks as a baseline for average. This coffee is below that standard. The latte wasn't much better. The coffee was really bitter and you don't get any silky smoothness from the milk. Had a hard time finishing my drink. I drink black espresso all the time so it is not because I'm not used to drinking stronger coffee that my opinion is this way. The decoration of the place is cool, but the place is really cramped. They also only have high chairs with small tables. Sitting there for more than a few minutes was not enjoyable. There are so many better coffee choices in Wan Chai.

Not long after I got in, 8:55 AM on Sunday, people started coming in droves. In fact, 15 minutes after I arrived, the place was almost full. For my breakfast, I ordered an iced green tea and the Eggs, Chorizo, Avocado and Toast. The eggs were perfectly poached and matched well with the salty chorizo. The avocados were also a nice touch. As for the tea, although I was not wowed, the presentation was quite good. On my first trio here, I also had the fortune of trying the latte which was very good. I would definitely recommend this cafe for breakfast.

I loveeee avocados in all forms....in tortilla soup, fried, sliced in burgers, homemade guac dip, and straight from a raw cut half sprinkled with sea salt. Just throw them at my face. I'll eat it. So I loved the combination of avocado diced with almonds, alfalfa sprouts, thinly sliced radish, and whatever else magic was on there. All that covered over one piece of sliced bread. The other slice had a perfect poached egg. A bite of egg and a forkful of avocado mix was just scrumptious. I will have to recreate that at home. Iced soy vanilla latte was dynamite! I think it kept me up while adjusting to time change since it was day 2 of traveling. Lastly, had to go with a take away dessert. The buttery baked fig dessert was gone in 4 bites. It was a little on the dry side. But I saw potential in the making....beautiful piece of baked good.

Being a westerner and preferring my coffee iced, I was suprised by the depth of flavor that the standard vanilla iced latte achieves at this cafe. You might say it was the reprieve from the humidity and heat that led me to like it so much, but I had one pretty much every day for a week and each time I was equally pleased by my decision, regardless of which specific TCA location I got it at or how heat-exhausted I was. The atmosphere is definitely upscale for a cafe and the prices reflect that. But you get great, fast service and this particular location has ample seating if you want to stay a while and work or chat or escape the heat or rain. Maybe the locals aren't as into it but for a simple tourist, I'm grateful I chose to stop in. And I went back for more.
