I spent 50$ there and everything tasted a few days old. The smell of the quiche reheated was inedible, smelled gamey. the cake tasted old. theres not labels above and below all of the food and pastry options so I dont know what anything is. there was no coffee drinks menu but teas were randomly written on a piece of paper. they should redo menu, make it clearer, offer less options that are all fresher. salads are great, sandwiches are great, flatbreads are great. Fill in the holes of what nc really needs, they shouldn't sell muffins with Rosies next door, you cant even compete, stick to what youre good at or where theres a hole in the market, for example NC has no donut shop, serve those to stand out.

For a person who can never seem to finish a sandwich, I devour these in their entirety - specifically the Turkey, bacon and avocado - get it pressed - the chewy, crispy baguette and the ridiculously thinly sliced meat piled high just disappears once it's in my hands. Don't forget the amazing Strawberry Shortcake topped with a memorable marzipan layer

The class size was about 8-10 of us, a nice mix of people like me who were new to the sourdough adventure, and some more experienced. The class was $200. The different stages of starter development, proofing, fermentation, shaping and baking were demonstrated. At the end, you get a container of starter and a loaf to take home. For a new sourdough baker, I wish there was more hands on so you feel the textures of the dough.

There are sandwiches, sweet treats, sourdough bread varieties, focaccia, cookies, coffee and more. The place is inviting and casual with air of class and attention to detail. Very welcoming. There is seating avaible to enjoy your coffee or cornetto. The products are all thoughtfully displayed and the service was genuinely friendly and upbeat. The cornetto with him and cheese was a simple and delicious sandwich. The bomboloni (1 pistachio and 1 lemon) were light and decadent at the same time, with a creamy custard like filling with subtle tastes of lemon and pistachio. I will be coming back for these. The garlic sourdough was filled with whole garlic gloves baked in with a nice chewy outside crust and soft inside. The country sourdough was equally amazing. Both great for dipping, sandwiches, toast, or simply spreading with a good quality butter or jam. There are no preservatives or artificial ingredients and all is made by hand. Right off the Post Rd in Westport with a small parking lot shared with other businesses. I highly recommend and will be a regular!

This review is an emotional outpouring…read more Stew Leonard's (SL) has been a part of my life for 55 years. I first came to this store soon after it opened, when it was much smaller and the only SL store. I now live a few hours away from any of the stores, but 2 SL shopping bags are among those my family uses regularly. I still go here and to other SLs when it's opportune, and the close relationship between SL and my family culminated when, upon his passing, SL SR. was placed a few strides away from my parents at Willowbrook Cemetery (rated 5). Over the years our family developed a close personal connection with the store. My mother became good friends with the head chef there (the prepared foods are excellent--I still always get the ambrosia salad when I'm there!). Sorry I don't recall his name. He was there from at least the mid 90s to the early 2000s. As my mother grew older we started having increasing numbers of SL items as side dishes at our holiday meals. In 2001 when she died we had SL provide the whole Thanksgiving dinner. I recall going in and speaking to the head chef, informing him of my mother's passing. He said he had wondered what had happened to her and missed her. The connection between our family and the store grew with my wife and kids. When we got engaged I got my wife's parents a SL gift basket, complete with Elsa the cheese cow. We would all visit this store and some of the others while traveling, enjoying the ice cream on site and bringing non-perishables back home, as well as apple cider in season--we'd bring the coolers for that. I don't know if my mother ever met either the Senior or Junior proprietor. I won't say I 'met' either of them, but I did encounter them both together once. There were no intros, and it was brief and terse. It was early summer 1979 or '80; like many college students, I thought SL would be a good summer 'gig'. I went to apply and found no parking spaces, but saw another parking lot across the street. I parked there and two men, one old one young, both dressed business formal, went walking past. The older one asked why I was parking there. I noticed the SL employee-only sign only then; I said I was going to apply for a job. He insisted there were none available. I started to say I would like to just leave an application, but he cut me off, saying again "there are no jobs!" [Please continue reading in the review space for the Stew Leonard's store in Danbury. There wasn't enough space here to complete my review. Thank you.]
