Wave Hill has something rarely seen in Connecticut...REAL Bread! Their prepared sandys are are also good + friendly service!

First visit here, although I have passed it by numerous times on the Post Rd in Norwalk. I came to try the "Parisian" sandwich with Jambon de Paris (specific ham from Paris France). Small parking lot shared with multiple other businesses, but was able to find a spot. I was greeted seconds after entering, asking what I wanted, but as this was my first time here I wanted time to look around. Other than a party of 4 who were seated inside, no other customers were around. I had no idea they made pizza, and I took a suggested sample to try. Outstanding. Still looking and deciding, I was again asked if I was ready. I did know I wanted a sourdough baguette. OK. Packed. I asked about the Parisian sandwich (all the sandwiches are pre made and disayed in the case), to be sure Jambon de Paris was used. The staff had NO clue what I was talking about, and rudely proclaimed "it's ham". Yes, I am aware its ham, but if it is not Jambon de Paris I want to know so I can chose something else. Luckily, the manager or owner overheard and confirmed it was Jambon de Paris. Staff began ringing my items when I indicated that I still wanted 2 more items. Sigh and eyeroll. There was no one else in line or waiting to order. All items were expensive and no receipt was provided which I did not realize till I got home. The sandwich was good, but needed more Jambon de Paris. The tarragon mustard gave a nice flavor, while the butter provided a smooth texture to compliment the crunchiness of the bread. The sourdough bread and the filled croissants were both delicious, but also quite pricey. Sandwiches are not made or order, there is no pricing on many of the items that I could see, this is a location with lots of traffic and not much parking. On top of all of that, feeling rushed and completely disrespected as a paying customer doesn't make me want to return or recommend. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. read more

Fantastic croissants (plain, chocolate and almond) and sandwiches (breakfast and lunch). The lemon pie is delicious as well. Not a fan of the baguette- very chewy and overpriced at $6. Service is fantastic! read more

We came here on a weekday afternoon and it was still pretty busy. We ordered leek soup, tomato soup, and a couple of sandwiches, including the tin roof with focaccia. Everyone enjoyed their food but my biggest issue with them is that the focaccia is pretty thin and not as thick as I'm used to having (resulting in a smaller sandwich). Then the tomato soup was also fine, just not as thick as I would have hoped. Overall, the food here is pretty solid, and the service is also nice, with the ambiance of an upscale fast casual sandwich shop. Definitely would return to try other sandwiches, though would be nice if they had more vegetarian options. read more

This is a small place, but the selection of food is huge. They have delicious sandwiches that are pre-made, but they can heat them up for you as well as bite-size and regular portion treats including breakfast pastries & slices of cake. I got a cake pop for the little girl i was with and i got myself a piece of carrot cake which was great & also a pesto panini which was great also. We dined in and enjoyed ourselves. The bathroom is clean and smells nice. Definitely on the pricier side, but everything i've ever tried from here is excellent. The people working there are also very nice. read more

Got lunch delivery from the Wave Hill Artisan Bakery and was blown away! We had a huge order but the restaurant was able to fulfill the order so timely! They even gave us a large box of some type of berry bread for my team to enjoy! I personally got the tomato soup and the Il Padrino sandwich and both were fantastic! The sandwich especially and the bread it was served on was delicious! Hope to get more from here soon! read more

This review is for the Wave Hill stand at the SMNC Sunday Farmers Market. Overall, this Farmer's Market has gone downhill. Wave Hill Breads was one of the stew stands that still show up. I purchased a $10 Italian bread which was nothing special, it was rock hard the next morning. There were flies all over the breads and baked goods and the salespeople were still selling them. I inquired about the monkey bread as the stand attendant swatted a fly and it smashed onto the baked goods and he still asked if I wanted it. No thanks! read more

We came here on 10/6/2024, and I gotta say, the sandwiches are really good. I highly recommend the Wave Hill Breakfast Sandwich. The mixture of fried egg, crispy Genoa salami, arugula, and Calabrian chili mayo on their original three-grain roll... wow, it was a symphony in my mouth. My girlfriend had the Ol' Faithful, and she raved about it! I had a bite, and the bread was nice and buttery. The coffee--espresso--was really good stuff: bold and flavorful. I had it with cream and added no sugar. The crème puff was very flavorful and paired nicely with the coffee. We're definitely coming back here for the delicious food and great atmosphere. read more

The place looks so nice inside. You can sit down and enjoy your meal and coffee. The baked goods are fresh and some items change each time i go. I had the three cheese monkey bread and that was good. The chocolate croissant is big, apple tart delicious, cream puff is yum. It's higher in price but the quality is great. There's also fresh baked bread. read more

Met a friend at Wave Hill bakery recently and I am looking forward to going back. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. My friend and I both had coffees and we both enjoyed them a lot. The pastries and breads all looked delicious. I bought some sourdough bread to bring home and my family really enjoyed it. I look forward to going back to try some of the pastries or pizzas next time. There were plenty of tables and a nice ambiance. Great addition to the Norwalk cafe scene! read more

This is, flat out, one of the best bakeries in Connecticut! The cinnamon sugar monkey bread, chocolate chip cookies, sugar brioche are all top notch, literally as good as it gets. I'd give it five stars except that when I've gone there, like five times already, everyone working there seems to be in a bad mood. Smiles are extra here. No one seems like they are having any fun. Such an easy fix!!! I'd go there every day but for the lack of good energy. I'm guessing whoever ownes/runs this place is not setting the right tone. read more

This is my new favorite sandwich shop! I've always loved Wave Hill breads, and would regularly go to their bakery to buy croissants and sandwich breads. When they opened this cafe, I knew it would be good! I ordered two sandwiches, the Wave Hill Breakfast Sandwich, and the Vesuvio. The breakfast sandwich had one of my favorite ingredients in the mayo, Calabrian chili peppers, and it was so good I wish I could order a second (I'm too full)! The Vesuvio is the perfect Italian lunch sandwich with a really good spiced fig jam between the meat and mozzarella. I haven't even started dessert yet, but everything was so amazing that I can't resist :) read more
