I have wanted to visit Wave Hill in Norwalk for a while, but I live an hour away. But Lucky Me. They were at the Chester Sunday Market when I recently visited. I bought a Seeded Semolina bread, a Rosemary Focaccia, a Demi Baguette, chocolate chip cookies, an almond croissant and cheese monkey bread. I'll start with the most positive. The bread was terrific. My whole family loved it. It was fresh. Crusty in the right way. There were household requests for repeat purchases, and I had to say, "Don't get ahead of yourselves, they're too far away for normal shopping." I didn't eat the almond croissant or the cheese monkey bread until the next day. So I can't fairly judge them. The croissant was still pretty tasty. The cookie was fine. My wife and I both had one the day we bought it. We've had a lot of top tier cookies this year. I can't put this cookie in that category. The texture wasn't as enjoyable. It was a harder cookie than I like. It had less chocolate. The salt content wasn't where I like it. So we loved the bread. And would buy it again. We'd skip the cookie. 4.5 Stars read more

First visit here, although I have passed it by numerous times on the Post Rd in Norwalk. I came to try the "Parisian" sandwich with Jambon de Paris (specific ham from Paris France). Small parking lot shared with multiple other businesses, but was able to find a spot. I was greeted seconds after entering, asking what I wanted, but as this was my first time here I wanted time to look around. Other than a party of 4 who were seated inside, no other customers were around. I had no idea they made pizza, and I took a suggested sample to try. Outstanding. Still looking and deciding, I was again asked if I was ready. I did know I wanted a sourdough baguette. OK. Packed. I asked about the Parisian sandwich (all the sandwiches are pre made and disayed in the case), to be sure Jambon de Paris was used. The staff had NO clue what I was talking about, and rudely proclaimed "it's ham". Yes, I am aware its ham, but if it is not Jambon de Paris I want to know so I can chose something else. Luckily, the manager or owner overheard and confirmed it was Jambon de Paris. Staff began ringing my items when I indicated that I still wanted 2 more items. Sigh and eyeroll. There was no one else in line or waiting to order. All items were expensive and no receipt was provided which I did not realize till I got home. The sandwich was good, but needed more Jambon de Paris. The tarragon mustard gave a nice flavor, while the butter provided a smooth texture to compliment the crunchiness of the bread. The sourdough bread and the filled croissants were both delicious, but also quite pricey. Sandwiches are not made or order, there is no pricing on many of the items that I could see, this is a location with lots of traffic and not much parking. On top of all of that, feeling rushed and completely disrespected as a paying customer doesn't make me want to return or recommend. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. read more

Fantastic croissants (plain, chocolate and almond) and sandwiches (breakfast and lunch). The lemon pie is delicious as well. Not a fan of the baguette- very chewy and overpriced at $6. Service is fantastic! read more

We came here on a weekday afternoon and it was still pretty busy. We ordered leek soup, tomato soup, and a couple of sandwiches, including the tin roof with focaccia. Everyone enjoyed their food but my biggest issue with them is that the focaccia is pretty thin and not as thick as I'm used to having (resulting in a smaller sandwich). Then the tomato soup was also fine, just not as thick as I would have hoped. Overall, the food here is pretty solid, and the service is also nice, with the ambiance of an upscale fast casual sandwich shop. Definitely would return to try other sandwiches, though would be nice if they had more vegetarian options. read more

My last review was a bit harsh, but honest. (food has always been great. Service wasn't up to that standard ). Props to Tim for correcting it!! I got served by Tamar yesterday and today again! This place is busy because the baked goods are exceptional and the food looks great too (haven't had any yet, I'm a bakery guy)! But Tamar was efficient yet nonetheless, cheerful, chatty, and helpful! I give this place five stars. The baked goods are as good as it gets and the service is too! I particularly recommend the cinnamon and sugar monkey bread, chocolate chip, cookies, and blueberry coffee, crumb cake! The last one sounded kind of odd to me, but it really really works!! This is a small place, but the selection of food is huge. They have delicious sandwiches that are pre-made, but they can heat them up for you as well as bite-size and regular portion treats including breakfast pastries & slices of cake. I got a cake pop for the little girl i was with and i got myself a piece of carrot cake which was great & also a pesto panini which was great also. We dined in and enjoyed ourselves. The bathroom is clean and smells nice. Definitely on the pricier side, but everything i've ever tried from here is excellent. The people working there are also very nice. read more

Got lunch delivery from the Wave Hill Artisan Bakery and was blown away! We had a huge order but the restaurant was able to fulfill the order so timely! They even gave us a large box of some type of berry bread for my team to enjoy! I personally got the tomato soup and the Il Padrino sandwich and both were fantastic! The sandwich especially and the bread it was served on was delicious! Hope to get more from here soon! read more

This review is for the Wave Hill stand at the SMNC Sunday Farmers Market. Overall, this Farmer's Market has gone downhill. Wave Hill Breads was one of the stew stands that still show up. I purchased a $10 Italian bread which was nothing special, it was rock hard the next morning. There were flies all over the breads and baked goods and the salespeople were still selling them. I inquired about the monkey bread as the stand attendant swatted a fly and it smashed onto the baked goods and he still asked if I wanted it. No thanks! read more

We came here on 10/6/2024, and I gotta say, the sandwiches are really good. I highly recommend the Wave Hill Breakfast Sandwich. The mixture of fried egg, crispy Genoa salami, arugula, and Calabrian chili mayo on their original three-grain roll... wow, it was a symphony in my mouth. My girlfriend had the Ol' Faithful, and she raved about it! I had a bite, and the bread was nice and buttery. The coffee--espresso--was really good stuff: bold and flavorful. I had it with cream and added no sugar. The crème puff was very flavorful and paired nicely with the coffee. We're definitely coming back here for the delicious food and great atmosphere. read more

The place looks so nice inside. You can sit down and enjoy your meal and coffee. The baked goods are fresh and some items change each time i go. I had the three cheese monkey bread and that was good. The chocolate croissant is big, apple tart delicious, cream puff is yum. It's higher in price but the quality is great. There's also fresh baked bread. read more

Met a friend at Wave Hill bakery recently and I am looking forward to going back. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. My friend and I both had coffees and we both enjoyed them a lot. The pastries and breads all looked delicious. I bought some sourdough bread to bring home and my family really enjoyed it. This is my new favorite sandwich shop! I've always loved Wave Hill breads, and would regularly go to their bakery to buy croissants and sandwich breads. When they opened this cafe, I knew it would be good! I ordered two sandwiches, the Wave Hill Breakfast Sandwich, and the Vesuvio. The breakfast sandwich had one of my favorite ingredients in the mayo, Calabrian chili peppers, and it was so good I wish I could order a second (I'm too full)! The Vesuvio is the perfect Italian lunch sandwich with a really good spiced fig jam between the meat and mozzarella. I haven't even started dessert yet, but everything was so amazing that I can't resist :) read more
