The food is great, the pastries and croissants fabulous and the best you'll find around here. The ONLY complaint I have is location. Parking is a pain, often have to trek to them, crossing various roads. Often has festivals and protests blocking access. So if they were in a much easier accessible location, I'd probably visit them multiple times a week. Try it at least once you won't regret it! read more

First visit and a lot of positives. Great buildout, feels like a real French bakery, which it is, or a cool NY cafe'. Food and service need some tweaks. You order and pay at the counter, and they ask if you want your desert crepe at the end of your meal (yes). We ran into a glitch when the young lady very confidently said we could have a recently opened 2-top, but apparently a couple of guys had been told the same thing. We got there first but it was an awkward start. The next glitch was when my wife's Quiche Florentine came out about 2 minutes after we sat down, and my Croque Madame didn't come out for over 10 minutes. They did tell me the CM would take a few minutes, but both entrees should always be served at the same time - that's Restaurant 101. And a nit, but when the server took our iced tea glasses for refills she asked us to pull out and reuse our straws. Never happened in any other restaurant that I can remember. The quiche had great flavor and texture, but it was served lukewarm. My CM was very good - fresh, nicely portioned, melted and gooey. Both the quiche and my CM came with small mixed greens salads, drizzled with balsamic, and both were quite bland, tasting only of lettuce. We dug for dressing but couldn't come up with much. The sweet crepe with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas was excellent, clearly the highlight of the meal. So...pretty good food and uneven service in a great room. The food slips could be fixed in an instant, and the service just needs some tweaks. Worth returning to see if these get ironed out. read more

What a serendipitous find! We were antiquing in Conroe and wanted a quick bite. Found Paulette Cafe online and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! The atmosphere is darling, the staff to a person was warm and welcoming; our server especially was very friendly and engaging. The lovely owner even stopped by our table to see if we're enjoying our meal. And were we ever! My son had the Ranch Pizza and devoured every bite. The crust was wonderfully light and showed off the toppings beautifully. I had the Ham & Cheese Crepe. Spectacular! The crepe was perfectly thin, as French crepes should be (looking at you, SP). The ham and cheese were perfectly complemented but just a touch of onion. Accompanying the crepe was an ethereally light "Parmesan whip," a nice addition to the subtle flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and though we don't live in Conroe, I will look for reasons to return. I seriously want to make my way through the entire menu! read more

I ventured into this Conroe local French treasure hidden in plain sight if you know where to look. The atmosphere and decor was pleasant and refreshing. I ordered the French Onion soup, which was seasoned perfectly. And I finished off my lunch with a Macchiato. You can taste the passion and culture they serve with every dish, dessert, and beverage. Homemade croissants, various pastries and tarts, perfect crepes, and a gorgeous (and generous) spread for breakfast, all very reasonably priced for the level of expertise you're getting. A real authentic French treat. We stopped while visiting Conroe and loved the ambiance, the amazing food and the warm welcome and service. Our dishes came with a delicious side salad with a balsamic reduction and fresh Parmesan that alone would be truly enjoyable. The croissants and other pastries looked well worth another visit. I so wanted to love this restaurant. The café is located at the old Flour-ish Patisserie site across from City Hall. It's warm and inviting and the staff was welcoming. I started with a cup of delicious coffee and ordered a breakfast crepe. I saw it came with béchamel sauce and asked for the cook to go light on the sauce as I'd rather taste the eggs and other ingredients. When it came it had a small container of béchamel sauce and I thought perhaps he prepared it dry. Alas, it must have had a 1/4 cup of sauce in the inside. I could only finish barely a quarter of it. The server asked if everything was ok and I reminded her that I asked to go like in the sauce. She replied that she had told them that, apologized and went to the counter to restock and arrange bottles. I finished my coffee and left. I only hope that if the owners read this review they take note of the failing. read more

I had really high hopes but was a bit disappointed in the experience. There was a festival in the square so I was afraid they would be busy but there were only patrons at two other tables. It started out great, the hostess greeted and sat us quickly. Our waiter came over and immediately took our drink order. Shortly after that, we saw him leave the restaurant and drive away. It took a while to get our drinks and have our food order taken with our new waitress. She was quite young and did not seem to have worked in food service all that long. We had a very simple order and she struggled a bit. When we ordered the meal I also ordered a chocolate croissant and almond croissant to go. We waited quite a while with no food. The waitress came over and explained that the Croque Madame and Croque Monsieur take longer, she was very apologetic for the time. Still we waited longer and she came over again to apologize. At this point I asked her to please bring the to-go order and our check when she brought out the food. This is when she apologizes for the 3rd or 4th time and informs us they are out of croissants but she "can ask her boss." Frustration is beginning to set in at this point and we tell her no worries on the croissants but please bring the check when she comes. I thought this would have been a much quicker experience on a Sunday afternoon with no significant traffic to speak of. No the check was not presented with the food. I had to hunt her down for that. All of that being said, the meal was lovely and I would certainly give them another shot. The location is perfect and the decor is just right. read more

My new favorite spot! We have been here 3 times, and love the food, and the owners! I have tried the fig pizza, Paulette breakfast, Country breakfast, and a few of their baked goods and they have all tasted great. The baguette is delicious, and keeps well until the next day ( they have sold us baguettes on the side). It's our new brunch spot, and will be returning. read more

What an absolutely delightful discovery! My husband and I started with a ham, egg, and cheese croissant that was melt-in-your mouth delicious. The European flour they use to make the pizza dough and croissants take your tastebuds to a whole new level. We then ordered a pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and added burrata. (A must do!) Again, it did not disappoint (especially with the pizza oil drizzled on top). Evee, our waitress, was friendly, attentive and a genuinely kind soul. She offered recommendations that enhanced our meal because she really wanted us to enjoy our dining experience. Her recommendations were spot on! Kindness overflowed from everyone we interacted with.
