Just for the record, the eye exam was performed by an associate of Dr. King's. During my examination, I was told that I had cataracts, but was never told that I needed prisms, for my double vision. After receiving my prescription, I had it filled out at another location, because they were so expensive, and it did not help, at all. I called the office, left a voice mail, and did not receive a return call. For this alone, this practice is unprofessional. After all of this unnecessary running around, and knowing that I received a cataracts diagnosis, I received an emergency appointment at my regular eye Dr. Not only did he reassure me, that I did NOT have cataracts, but he prescribed prisms, which took care of my double vision. Prisms, which Dr. King's associate never even mentioned. Thanks to the perfect diagnosis, and prescription of Dr. Brown, I was able to enjoy my vacation with no vision issues. If you're looking for a professional, and correct exam, go to Dr. Andrew Brown, in Teaneck, and never come to this office.

She did an eye exam and convinced me to try a new brand of monthly contacts which I did, and was dissatisfied. I then tried another brand of monthly contacts. Still no luck. I actually went back to using an older prescription of contacts just to get some eye comfort. I was having such issues with my eyes I finally scheduled a new appointment with another doctor and that doctor diagnosed me with protein deposits in my eyes and issued me prescription drops and disposable contacts. I'm disappointed that she didn't listen to my concerns from the get-go.

For those of you who prefer a short summary--my first visit to Dr. Goldfarb was excellent in every…read moresense of the word--from my interaction with his outstanding front desk team to his assistants to the doctor himself, I could not be more impressed with the high level of thoughtful, professional care I received. For those of you who prefer more details, read on. From my initial contact with the office, I found the staff to be so accommodating: my questions were answered, my appointment booked, including the questions I had regarding insurance matters. When I arrived on the morning of my appointment, it turned out that I was having an emergency with an elderly family member and needed to leave before being seen. I was pretty shaken up, but the kindness shown to me by the staff in reassuring me and then rebooking my appointment for the next afternoon went so far in supporting me as I rushed off. I cannot say enough good things about the high level of caring from the front desk staff! At my appointment the next day, before seeing the doctor, I was seen by two assistants who completed parts of the exam. Again, I was struck by how personable and knowledgeable they were, answering my questions and performing the tests in a way that enabled me to feel in control. (I'm sure anyone who has had the "flipping lens" eye test can relate. For example, David was patient, making sure that I had enough time to be sure which lens was the best choice.) I then met Dr. Goldfarb. Simply put, especially in these days of managed care, Dr. Goldfarb stands out. Not only does he have a vast knowledge base (including his appointments at top hospitals including Mount Sinai in NYC), but he is kind and patient, and he really listens. He was so thorough, looking to piece together what in my medical history might be causing the symptoms I am experiencing. I left feeling heard and with a plan to implement for the next six months. I was so pleased with my entire visit, and I would encourage you, too, to book your appointment if you are looking for a doctor and team who will treat you with kindness and respect and top-notch care for your eyes.

These days, alot of places use technology to input patient information, it just seems outdated the way they do it by hand writing the information on index cards. But to each it's own.
