I came here for a contacts eye exam. Overall, a very pleasant experience. -Staff was very helpful. -Almost no wait time even though they were booked. My appointment was at 6:30pm and the doctor called me at 6:35! -Doctor was nice and very thorough and answered all of my questions. She took her time with the exam and it did not feel rushed. -Reasonable prices. I had to pay out of pocket for my exam because I don't have vision insurance. I chose this place because of the price and reviews. I'll be back for subsequent eye exams. read more

I've gotten prescription glasses here a while back - one pair was transitional glasses (lens is supposed to turn into sunglasses under sunny conditions). When I got the glasses, I noticed that only one side was transitional. I remember the interactions after that had been sort of painful to get it adjusted so I never came back. But more recently, my dad came here and purchased an expensive pair of glasses, retail at ~$900. When he came to get his exam, although admittedly we were running late, I feel like the doctor was kind of impatient... but it's okay, not a big deal. Plus my dad didn't really speak English well so he didn't care too much - he just wanted the glasses. Afterwards, he asked to see the glasses one more time. They told him the previous time that they would put it on reserve and store it away. It took them a couple of minutes in the front and back rooms looking for it and when they finally found it, we could see that it was stored in a plastic bag - absolutely not how you would expect the treatment of a $900 pair of glasses. My dad wasn't too happy. Finally got the glasses later on, not too many complaints there. Except that the code on the glasses doesn't seem to match what they have on file...I am not aware that there were two identical pairs that they could've mixed up, so I don't know what happened there. However, I've told my dad to go to the other place in fort lee, where the doctor is extremely friendly and patient, and the exam office also uses much more modern technology for eye care. The only thing I like about this place is that it seems to have newer selections of glasses. Not the best, but better than the other in-town place that I recommended my dad to. So I'll add 1 extra star. read more

I couldn't agree more with all of the reviews! I was going to Lens Crafters for years prior to Dr. Joo's office and they have done nothing but hurt my eyes. It wasn't until my older sister came with me to an appointment where she realized Lens Crafters were putting steroids in my eyes and refused to give me contacts! Horrific! My sister then recommended me to Dr. Joo and I couldn't be more pleased with the recommendation! Dr. Joo is very genuine, honest, professional, personable and caring! She isn't pushy at all where other doctors usually push a product or make you feel horrible for sleeping with a contact in your eye. She makes you feel comfortable and is understanding of all issues you may have. I have recommended several of my family members and friends and they are all so pleased. I've been attending her practice once yearly her eye glasses selection is great and her approach to my eye condition is just what I need. I recommend her service for all ages. I've been wearing prescription glasses and contact lenses since an early age. I had visited many places for this service n the past not just in the US but outside the US, in many countries during my developmental years. She is the best practitioner in this field i ever know. Her approach and knowledge to my eye issues are right on! I suggest that is have read up to this point you should schedule an appointment and experience for yourself or your family members about your eye needs. Dr. Joo is amazing. I had been going to Dr. Joo for a few years because I worked close by, but after I switched jobs I went to another doctor. I also have really bad astigmatism and I thought maybe if I went to another practice that was more "high-tech" then I might be able to get a better prescription. It was a disaster. The service and prescription I got from the other practice was all wrong. Long story short, I came back to Dr. Joo and I could not be happier. I couldn't be happier with the service that I've received from Dr. Joo and her staff. Upon arrival, I was immediately taken into the exam room. She was extremely thorough and the entire procedure took about 15 minutes. I also had a pair of stubborn glasses that refused to straighten out, but Dr. Joo took the time to adjust them perfectly! Have always used Costco for glasses and contacts due to lack of vision insurance. Found Envision which offered the best value and scheduling that accepted my new vision insurance. The best exam experience I have ever had. Very thorough and explains everything step by step. Staff is excellent working with insurance. Pricing is similar to Costco pricing - awesome value! Both Dr and staff are completely bi-lingual - comfortable explaining things in fluent English and Korean. Why go anywhere else? Highly recommended. read more

Everyone in this office is friendly and helpful. The front desk personnel are extremely knowledgeable in the ins and outs of insurance. The woman at the front desk is always very helpful she explained everything throughly. Dr. Woo is great and has an amazing personality which I appreciate because my son and I always mess with my daughter during her exams etc.. lol Dr. Woo knows her stuff and explains in detail your options and answered all questions when asked in detail to where you understand. I thought this place was pretty cool. The optometrist was very nice and she actually checked my eyes very thoroughly. Honestly this was the first time I felt why we do need optometrist (please don't get offended. I am saying it because there is no job/occupation called optometrist in Korea. it is all done by the clerk there. Unfortunately in a lot of Korean places for glasses in the US, you only get simple examination that can be done by someone without a degree). anyway, staff members were nice and kind, too. By far, the best optometrist I've ever been to. Dr. Joo explained every exam procedure so I was able to understand why she was doing what she was doing. She actually found out that my glasses were way too strong. So basically, unless my vision has miraculously improved recently, then my previous optometrists had been upgrading my prescription for no reason. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great experience as a first timer. During my exam, my breath/mask kept fogging up the lenses, causing a bit of confusion and delay for some of the tests, but Dr. Joo was nevertheless helpful and made me feel at ease. I've had unpleasant experiences with frustrated doctors, so I especially appreciated Dr. Joo's professionalism and sensitivity. I found Dr. Joo and Envision Eye Care on Yelp and decided to give them a call to see if they had any last minute appointments available. To my surprise, they had an opening and were able to accommodate my schedule and offered a same-day appointment. My husband and I both found out that we had been given prescriptions that were too strong for us by our previous optometrist. The frames here are also pretty reasonably priced and our insurance covered the bulk of our total. In the past we've had to pay a lot more because the cost of the frames/exams were always overpriced.
