Fortunately there are online options available to order with a prescription. I know that these offices are reluctant to share prescriptions due to the increasing use of these online options. But they are in fact OUR prescriptions. When my daughter called for the PD #, NOT an expired RX, they would only offer it for $25. That seems absurd since it is her medical history. And quite frankly none of their business what she will do with her OWN records. But to assert that it would be a liability for them to give that number to her is asinine. Their conversation escalated to unreasonable proportions because of the staff's incredibly condescending responses. We will not be doing business there again. Unfortunately they couldn't see the value of doing this courtesy.

At first the glasses didn't feel right but after I called, they suggested to wait a month and see how I felt. I found that the glass was too thick comparing to the ones I usually got from my previous eye doctor in the City. My glasses got broken and came today to get them replaced under the guarantee. They flat out said that those glasses were not from them and that the frame nor the prescription matches what was on file. I was in shock; I was given glasses that did not match the prescription on my file yet they charged me for those services. At the end they put Dr. Dominguez on the phone who with a very condescending tone kept saying that those were not glasses from her practice and from time to time she made sounds insinuating that I was lying. Yet, didn't apologize nor occurred to her that perhaps the negligence and disorganization of her office got me the wrong or what they call "over the counter" glasses and charged the insurance for the real ones. Take pictures of the glasses they give you so you have proof to refute their claims. Not a place to trust

Appt call: the office mgr had no idea what she was doing and she did not create a file for me nor gathered my benefits. Appt Day: since no file, I had to give the mgr my name and member information no less than three times in 15 mins. She had a week to get my benefits but did not. Wasted my time and optometrist was sitting right there and said nothing. She behaved as though she was above all that. Glasses Retrieval: 1) they did not get the transition option with my glasses even though it was charged to my insurance. 2) They put a reading prescription on my main glasses and 3) a short distance prescription on the other one. I mean whhhhyyyy? Both glasses are to be used by me for the same reason (I can't see far distances) so why have diff scripts for each? Then they blamed me for that so I told BOTH of them off and used some choice language. I returned both glasses and got a refund. Don't blame me for your lack of professionalism and dereliction of duty. Filed a complaint with my insurance and with the state board of optometry. Seems this optometrist has a history of doing the wrong thing with patients and getting away with it. There are patients who don't know better so it is up to the professionals to do right by patients by dr Elena Vitezon has shown she is not a nice or kind person nor does she care about patients. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Upper Montclair Eye Wear and Care…read more I recently spent over $400 on sports goggles, and at no point during the purchase was it explained to me that, once the lenses arrived, only ONE employee was actually able to complete the job. Given that these are sports goggles and we are in the middle of sports season, this information would have been important to know upfront. On Tuesday, I called after being told that the lenses had arrived. I was told someone would call me the next day when the goggles were ready. Wednesday came and went with no call. By Friday, still no call, so I called because I actually need the goggles for the season. Unfortunately, the customer service during that call was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The employee put me on hold for more than five minutes, then came back and asked, essentially, "Are you sure you're calling the right place?" Yes--I was. She then hung up on me. When I called back, I was sent to voicemail. I called again about 10 minutes later, and eventually spoke with the same employee I had spoken with on Tuesday. I was then told that the manager wanted them to explain that there is only one person who can complete the job and that person is only there once a week, so "we'll see what we can do." That is not an acceptable way to handle a customer who has already spent more than $400 with your business and a returning customer. If there are staffing limitations or only one person qualified to complete the work, that should have been clearly communicated when the order was placed--or at the very least when the lenses arrived. I really wanted to support a local business, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Delays happen, but the lack of communication, poor customer service, and dismissive attitude toward my concerns were unacceptable. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and that's a shame because I would have preferred to continue supporting a local business.

They fixed them for the man and said "no charge". Who does that??? Nina (Dr. Mazie's Optician) is amazing...she really knows her stuff when it comes to the best type of frame for each patient. I actually see another doctor for glaucoma, but see Dr. Mazie to test for my reading glasses as they have an amazing line of frames. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
