This is one of my favorite campgrounds I've ever been to!!! Kelly and Mikal treat their guests like family. From the first time I called Kelly was so kind and helpful. I have been numerous times now and it feels like going to a little slice of heaven each time. It's clean, beautiful, quiet, and they live on site so if there's an issue they are there to help! The sites are spread out and spacious so you won't have someone right on top of you. The sites are kept up so nicely and the campground itself is simply gorgeous. The bathrooms are clean, there are several free showers, and there is firewood for sale as well. The town of Guerneville itself is only five minutes away, and there are tons of cute little shops as well as a major grocery store. There are darling little art galleries, clothing stores, bakeries, ice cream shops, coffee shops, etc. The ocean is only a 25 minute drive down the road. There are endless little beaches to stop at, as well as numerous little beachside towns with restaurants and coffee shops. You can spend a whole day exploring highway 1, then head back to your campsite to relax. I feel so lucky to only live 3 hours away and be able to head there any time I want. I'm so grateful to Kelly and Mikal for being so accommodating and kind.

They have tent camping on a grasses area if that's what you are there for. There are a few full hook ups for rv sites as well. You are allowed to make a camp fire for your s'more and to keep yourself warm on those cool nights. It does get a little chilly and cold since you are by the beach so make sure you pack some warm close. If you are into fishing they will take your boat out and launch it for you to. The general store is fully stocked with all your essential needs if you forgot something or if you want to pick up to take home with you for a souvenir. The store also has coffee if you need something to get you going in the morning. The showers are clean and you also need coins to take a shower so make sure you bring some quarters. The beach is a few steps away with a beautiful view. We paid about $68 dollars a night but that is not with full hookups. So if you like camping and want to escape from the heat. Go heck this place out!

I placed 2 camp chairs on the tarp to secure the pile and left some other miscellaneous items to give further evidence the camp was occupied. I returned to camp and everything was gone. Gone! I recognize people are inherently bad, selfish, and entitled (see compliance with beach leash laws as a small example) but flagrantly breaking the unwritten rule of not fucking with other peoples' campsites is a new low. The money is not the issue (~$150 loss), its the evil, selfish behavior that is so shocking and disappointing. I hope the offending party rots in their own selfish delinquency and wish them nothing but the worst. I will not return to Lawson's.

We ended up getting a flat tire on our class A 18K motor home on and Sunday and a all local facilities closed. The owners were gracious enough to let us stay an additional night without question, The hooks are excellent modern and great condition. We did not use the showers or flush toilets as we had our own so we can speak on them other than if you're tenting it, you have the means to those facilities. We will definitely come back and stay here as we have RV in several others and this one is by far the best. The maintenance gentleman offered us tire flat slime and an air compressor which was so amazing. He also suggested a couple of local business in town (3 miles away) for our Monday Search. KUDOS to ownership, management, staff and the beautiful Mother Nature with amazing landscape!

A pickup near us spun their wheels each time they left, a van got stuck in another site and needed a tow truck with a wench to get out, my car tires spun and had trouble getting traction the one time I drove out to go sight see. I wouldn't have set up camp there in the first place but we arrived just before dark, after the office was closed. I would have appreciated a warning that the road is steep and not maintained. The office staff acted like it was not a problem and I was unreasonable. I ended up parking up the hill from our site. When it was time to leave, we carried small items up the hill. We asked a maintenance person and he took our big items up the hill with his gator. At least Damon was very nice and helpful. I've driven down many dirt and gravel roads during my 50 years of tent camping. This road was inexcusable.
