I went to this location for the first time during Covid and it was not good in service or food. Went years just passing it by because of that. I gave it another shot a few months ago and I was surprised how much better it was. I went again yesterday to see if they had consistency and it was even better. My wife and I both had a double bacon burger and an order of fries we shared and they had chili so I got a cup of that and poured it on my fries and it was very good. The service from the young lady up front was the best I have had in a fast food restaurant in years. I did not get her name I'm sorry for that because she deserves to be known. She was the only one up front and handling the drive thru like a well oiled machine and was so friendly and caring and patient I had never been that impressed in a while. I judged before hand and I was happy I was wrong because she was young had ink on her and shaved but if we can clone more like her this world would be a better place. The store was clean and well run and comfortable to be in. I will go again to eat and just to get this young ladies name to get her a little recognition she deserves. A good burger joint at a good price. We had three burgers, a large order of tots and a large order of onion rings for a little over $20. This is a Relaxed, family run, environment. Burgers are far better with fresh veggies than any burger place in Idaho or Spokane area. They take pride in their work. A pretty quality burger. Family owned place. And a lot cheaper than the others in town. Quite frankly I went in with zero expectation and what I got was a really good burger patty with seasoned meat, good cheese and nice crispy bacon and lettuce on a bun that held up nicely. Where else can you get a double bacon cheese for 6 bucks? So I'll be back to try more. I wish they told you what was on the burgers on the menu. Or what logger style meant. I live in Spokane, 30 miles away from the location. I've eaten there a few times in the past, and always enjoyed it. This time, I made a special trip driving 60 miles round trip just to go to Paul Bunyan because we no longer have those restaurants in Spokane. Boy oh boy! Let me first preface this by saying that I am usually a heavy tipper at restaurants. I tip 20% MINIMUM and usually more depending on the situation. When I made my order with the cashier (Destiny G.), I paid and turned to walk to a table and she said in a very loud voice, "We work on tips!" I did NOT appreciate this. All she did was take my money. Did she seat me? No. Did she deliver my food to the table? No. Did she come to check on me while I was eating to see if I needed anything? No. Did she bus my table? No, I did that. So WHY would I tip her? I get that some places (misguidedly) have tip jars for people that feel the need to, say, for example, tip the barista at Starbucks who does NOTHING in the way of extra service, but rather just does their job. But to YELL, "WE WORK ON TIPS!" That is beyond rude. I will never return (sadly) to Paul Bunyan in Post Falls, ID. I doubt this review will change any policies or attitudes at the restaurant, I only want to let Yelp users know what they can expect. read more

The few times we have been there it's only been staffed with teenagers who seem to find their social life on the phone more important than work. This location is terrible compared to the one in downtown CDA or the one attached to Tara's Pizza in Rathrdrum. If you look at a review for the CDA one from about 2 years ago, I gave that location a 5 star because it was great. I come here every 6 months or so, and every time I'm reminded why I don't return. A bit of a wait, then got my combo. It was a large amount of fries and the fry sauce was the bomb. I would not consider the "jumbo" burger to be large. Could have eaten two. But it was a quality burger made to order . No thrills. Ketchup, mustard , and two pickles . Now here is where I get a little irritated with yelpers. This is a fast food restaurant. This burger was much better than the chains and cheaper too. It was a great value. If you want a good burger to stuff down your gullet, I would recommend this place. There are better burgers for three times the price in town. But they are not as good of a value as this one and can't be rated the same based on price. Brought someone here who had never been before, we were looking for burgers, but not from a chain, and even though I hadn't been here in a couple years I remember them having great burgers. We ordered a Paul Bunyan combo, and a cheeseburger tots and a shake. When we came up to get our tray my drink was not there, so after a big hassle (they made us go look for the receipt, even though they had a copy of the order) they finally gave us our drink, during which I saw the fries were also missing. After the employees stared at us with blank looks, I said to myself screw it, if they are willing to lose a customer over a small fry which we paid for I'm not wasting another minute with these fools. I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. We had a darn good meal here. My burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was fresh. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The chicken nuggets were cooked perfectly. The spicy tots were addictive and we couldn't stop eating them. The butterscotch shake was the best we ever had. We highly recommend this place read more

Then when I called the lady to tell her I'm coming back to get what they had forgotten she fails to tell me that they are out of it so I made a trip back for no reason and mind you these aren't teens working. Waited 25 minutes in drive thru and not 1 of the 4 or 5 ppl inside came and said hey so sorry for the wait..was there a total if 35 minutes for 3 burgers and fries 3 cokes that we did not get! I get a triple jumbo with bacon and onions and a small onion ring. The total is, I think, $9.80. It is a big burger and they don't chince on the bacon. They make these burgers as they are ordered, so be prepared to possibly spend fifteen minutes going through the drive-thru, and it is definitely worth the wait. If you are like me and you like burgers greasy and fresh off the grill, then I highly recommend. If you want something in two minutes that's been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, then try Burger King or Wendy's. I honestly don't understand how those big chain operations stay in business with places like Paul Bunyan. They have great milkshakes with a large variety of flavors. Just want to commend the manager for defending her employee against an angry construction worker. The girl at the register made a mistake and instead of acting like an adult, this man made a scene- how the girl didn't cry is beyond me. However, when his brother went to complain the manager was sincere and acknowledged the mistake and also that she is only a child and shouldn't be yelled at. I completely agree. There are far bigger problems in the world than accidentally getting skipped over to put in an order. If you have a short lunch break, perhaps you should pack a lunch instead of inflict your haste and demeanor on unsuspecting teens. Excellent place to eat! I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a inexpensive yet awesome place to eat. Their customer service was amazing which bright my rating from four stars to five stars. My younger brother ordered their Italian Salad but didn't realize that it had pickles(he hates pickles), he brought it up to the counter and they were more than happy to make him a new one at no charge even though he had opened the other one and it was unsellable. We also bought 3 kids meals and it may sound stupid but this is one of the only places that has gotten our order right the first time:) I was very impressed at how clean the whole place was. Everything was spotless even the bathrooms. I did have one complaint with the bathrooms. They were both single person bathrooms and there was no family bathroom which is an extreme inconvenience for a family of 7. read more

I ordered 2 milk shakes in the drive thru in Post Falls. I then proceeded to watch the employee put spilled ice cream back into the cup with her finger, wipe her finger on her pants, then went to touch the computer screen again. I politely asked to have the shake remade and was met with total shock and annoyance from the manager Sarah, she snarkly asked if I didn't want a straw then either. No apologies, taking no responsibility for food being prepared (in front of me) in an unsanitary manner.
