They messed up my wife's order. Not a big deal, she went back with her burger. But Instead of remaking her food, they took her burger and just tossed a few pieces of bacon on it that had been sitting there for a bit and wrapped it back up. So she arrived home with a cold burger and no longer an appetite. Typically the restaurant will just toss the messed up order for sanitary reasons, they will not take the food back. Won't be returning to this location. read more

We have been going to Paul Bunyan for years and don't normally mind paying the a little extra because everything is always delicious. Ok...this place has these amazing cheesy jalapeño potato bites I'm still thinking about 2 months later, so do yourself a favor and don't go there without getting those! Burgers were really good, milkshakes were good. Everyone in my car was happy with their order. Service was great, and wait time was not long at all. Service is so bad. Every single time I go there I'm disappointed! I waited over 25 mins yesterday for my food and right at the 20 min mark they came to the window and asked for my receipt because they weren't sure what I ordered. They also charged me $.50 for 1 single piece of lettuce which is absolutely crazy! When they handed me my change it was a mess crumpled and fanned out. I went there on Monday and ordered a bacon cheese burger, light on the sauce, no tomatoes, extra lettuce. It was for my boyfriend's dinner. The girl at the drive through was initially nice, so I thought. I thought I'll tip because I thought maybe, just maybe, the food would be done the way it was ordered. We'll, guess what it wasn't! There was maybe six strands of shredded lettuce on it. That may sound petty, but with all the bad service in the restaurants around this area, I was annoyed. So I called and the same girl at the drive up answered the phone. I explained to her what happened and at first she was understanding. She suggested that I drive back to the restaurant and they would put more lettuce on the burger. I said I wasn't going to do that and she said well, I don't know what to tell you??? Then she became rude when I told her I wouldn't have left a tip if I new this was going to happen. She said that we, meaning the restaurant, doesn't ask for tips. After that, I asked her for her name and she said she isn't allowed to give out that information. So, I asked her for the manager and she said she was the manager. I had my phone on speaker and my boyfriend heard the whole conversation. He told her we would definitely not be back. When I got off the phone he reminded that this Paul Bunyan hires teenagers and they have been rude on the burger side and the pizza side. That's why we quit coming here. When was the last time you had a malt? By far, rather than making a choice at a closer business, offering the same type of ice cream treats and drive-in food, I would always drive out of the way to have Paul Bunyan make my malt. My particular favorite is a "Chocolate Marshmallow Malt with extra malt." Paul Bunyan shakes and malts are consistently the BEST! Fresh pineapple? Huckleberry? Banana? Even plain vanilla? Tried Paul Bunyan today for the first time. So tired of eating at the same places again and again. I got a double bacon cheeseburger. It was good, the bacon was perfect. I added a couple of onion rings to it which made it even better. I also ordered onion rings and I thought they were good, pretty salty, but I don't mind that too much. The coating falls off pretty easy, but that doesn't mean they don't taste good. All in all I'd definitely go again. It's the closest thing to a SoCal "grease pit" that I've had since moving to North Idaho. I think it's a good value for what you get as well. read more

We were driving past and thought about grabbing a personal pizza at Tara's but changed our minds and wanted to try a famous Paul Bunyan burger. HUGE disappointment! I don't know where people got the pictures they posted but our burgers were barely 1/4" thick and cooked very well done. Plus my husband found a couple of pieces of bone in his. I tried this burger joint for the first time today to see how they compare to Rogers Burger. I was so impressed that I could not decide which was better. The burger patties were cooked to perfection, salted and peppered perfectly. The cheese was gooey and yummy. The tomato slice was fresh and perfect. The lettuce nice and crisp. The onion and pickles good. And jalapeños delicious. The fries were great as well. I will definitely be back but will try the post falls location next and try some of the other sides to go with my next triple burger with cheese. read more

Normally I love this place and wait is worth the tasty food. However today they screwed up my order. I asked for extra pickles on my kids burger and he only got 3, not a big deal. On my double bacon burger I asked for no mayo, extra mustard and extra pickles. I got no pickles, no mustard, the bigger is swimming in mayo and there was only one half a piece of bacon. I asked for onion rings instead of fries, got fries no onion rings. Then to top it off they added an extra fry on our order. So we paid the upcharge for onion rings we didn't get AND paid for an extra fry. We didn't discover this until we got home to eat. My husband and I stopped friday April 21, 2017.. night after our flight..this is what Alan got for $10...what a bunch of crap now....jumbo cheeseburger my butt! Also the shake which was chocolate, had huckleberry all over inside the cup so you know they are not cleaning after its used! What if someone had an allergy!!!! It's not sitting around pre-made / then thrown on the grill 90% of the time we are getting what you want in a greasy burger. Most times the bacon is fresh too. Wow. Horrible service. I Just tried to pull through tonight to grab food for my family. While I love the fact they hire young workers they need some serious customer service training. Scott, I believe you are the manager...your front of house staff this evening just before closing was horrible. They didn't lock the doors and upon entry the young lady told me to leave and go through the drive through (on my bike) because she forgot to lock the door. I asked if I could simply tell them what I would like to order and pick it up at the window because they were closing the lobby. She said no and to go out out to the drive through...I wasn't sure if the window clerk could use the microphone due to the lack of weight being on a bike so waited patiently behind one car to put my order in at the window. Upon getting there now with two cars behind me and 2 minutes before closing he started an argument with me about putting in an order and eventually told me he wouldn't take my order. And yes you were still open with two more orders behind me. Frusting given the fact that I rode my bike over to grab burgers for my family in the cold. I wasn't even angry just trying to order some food and wait patiently. Please don't hesitate should you have any questions (Scott), but the young man at the window was a real piece of work. Terrible customer service. Went through and ordered $30 worth of food. Didn't get the correct burgers. Didn't get a fry for one of the meals, and completely didn't get my kids meal. When called to ask to return what we got for what I actually paid for they wouldn't do it. IF you love yourself, dont ever eat here. OCT 8 2017. 3 pm. We did drive thru. Savannah took our order. Ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers, large onion rings , 1 nugget and a small fry. Excited it was our first time would find out later it would be our last time. The burger buns were flattened, lettuce only covered half the burger, what they called bacon was actually just pieces of fat. BURGERS thrown away. The large Onion rings came in a grease soaked bag, it was grilled onions with bread crumbs . THIS is wear we tried our kids nuggets which looked over cooked, tasted like onions and fish. They use the same fryer for everything. VERY concerning. THE FRY GUY DOES NOT DESERVE A PAYCHECK. We ended up throwing the whole order in the garbage. We live half hour from this location in Rathdrum IDAHO. Garbage crew makes garbage food. How is this place even open?. Should have read the reviews.. Take it from a father of 5, go to Mc DONALDS.
