No call, no rationale (e.g. an item isn't available) just a notification on the app that the order was canceled. OK. Technically they did call once, I reordered based on what they said was available but they canceled the new order as well. I try to support local businesses - even when the food isn't always the *best* (e.g. their large chocolate chip cookies occasionally have a soapy chemical aftertaste but their crumb cake is dense and delicious) which is why I kept ordering from them despite the cancellations. But even if the food is GREAT, if the customer's experience consistently sucks? If the service is subpar? That = a permanently lost customer.

While placing my order online, I accidentally missed the notes section and wasn't prompted to select a delivery date. I realized it immediately and sent an email right away explaining that I needed the order delivered by July 13 for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, I never received a response to my email. I also tried calling multiple times, but no one ever answers the New York phone number. It is now July 14, and I still have not received the cake pops or even an email confirming that the order has shipped--yet my credit card was charged immediately. I should have read the recent reviews before ordering because I now see that many other customers have experienced the same issues: poor communication, unanswered emails and phone calls, and orders not being fulfilled as expected. What's especially disappointing is that I ordered from New York Cake Pops about three years ago and had a great experience, which is why I felt comfortable ordering again. Sadly, that was not the case this time. Charging customers for an order while providing no communication and no delivery is unacceptable. This was for a special birthday celebration, and I was left scrambling at the last minute. I cannot recommend this business based on my recent experience.
