Bartender was saving seats for people at the bar so I was told I couldn't sit when people got up right in front of me. We were told two parties in front of us for a table. We have been going here since they were in downtown Dover. We've never had a bad meal and the prices are very reasonable. Big fans of the bruschetta and eggplant parm. Definitely recommend making reservations for dinner on the weekends (and even sometimes during the week) as this place is always busy (but the service is always great and quick). read more

Patty B's is a great Italian restaurant. There are many in the area but this place is right at the top of the list. The food is excellent and everything comes in HUGE portions. Everything has a great, home-cooked feel to it. They've got a decent beer selection (nothing out of the ordinary) and an amazing dessert case. It's hard to pass up the cheesecake. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is excellent. We've also gotten takeout and the food has been hot and fresh once we get home. Prices are good and at the lower end compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. read more

My husband and I have ordered takeout from here two times. The rigatoni dinner is wonderful. However, the last time we went we dined in their new location. My chicken marsala was not fully cooked. I noticed a teenage boy manning the stove and was convinced it was him. I did not have it sent back (my husband was not happy with me). it was my mothers birthday so we decided to come here for dinner, hearing That the food at patty b'd is great. and it is true. we had one waitress who was the most sweetest thing, funny, kid-friendly, and awesome! #kudos! if you want a garlic bread that is to die for, GO TO PATTY B's! The rich vinegar and olive oil dip for the cheesy bread is such a great combo. HOWEVER, the marinara sauce was kind of bland and could use more flavor, so we put salt and pepper on it. What a wonderful surprise. Really good Italian. If you like your eggplant sliced thin with a flavorful sauce, then you have got to try their Eggplant Parm. Had the wings, they were tasty. Got some cookies to go since we were all stuffed. The decor was fresh and comfortable and the kitchen was super clean (open kitchen). I was looking forward to eating here as it has glowing reviews. I am starting to believe that most of the 5 star ratings are fake. I got the carbonara, which I alway get at a good Italian restaurant. I brought half of it home because they do give huge portions. This is the next day and I just ate the rest. For the first time ever, I tossed half in the garbage as it wasn't worth finishing. My son got the chicken Parmesan and said it was just okay. He said we didn't need to go back - which is too bad as he lives 2 minutes from this restaurant. The garlic bread that everyone raves about is not that good. It is just a filler. I did get the lemon cake which was really good. All in all, I won't go back as there are so many better places to eat. I am still confused about all the 5 star ratings. read more

Food is great and I would have no problem giving 5 stars had it not been for the service. I travel to this area for business and have been a few times actually. It tends to get busy at lunch and dinner but they need at least two more servers on staff during these times. When you have a bar with seating at the bar you need a bartender. Bar was crowded (as was the rest of the place) and he left and was not seen for about 10 minutes. A waitress came to the bar and we asked where he was and she said "Helping Patty Cook" is he bartending and serving or cooking ? Anyways food and desserts are 5 star hire some more help and you will have it right ! Servers are cheap to add to staff as they make a small hourly wage I would suggest a few more. read more

I've been here 3 times and each time I walk out forgetting I was in Dover. This place is a real gem for this town. The service is great, the food is delicious! It has outside seating which I can't wait to partake in when it is warmer out. For food- the bruschetta is awesome. I would also recommend the chicken marsala with sun dried tomato risotto, the eggplant parm, and the lasagna. For dessert you MUST get the cheesecake - OMG! I'm so confused about the reviews that say this is a great Italian restaurant. I wasn't impressed with most of the dishes we had but there were some positives. First off I was excited to see on the menu what they called "Patty's Famous Drumsticks". I asked the waitress what they were. She said that they were large chicken drumstick that were made simply with salt and pepper and then baked but they are delicious. I should have listened when she said they were done simply because there was absolutely nothing special about them. It was a plain chicken drumstick that they charge $3.75 per. Wasted money. The pasta with white clam sauce was horrible. They did have a large amount of clam pieces from a can. If you want to see how an Italian restaurant cooks clam sauce, go to the North End or down to New Haven, Ct. They use real in the shell clams. What a concept. The broth it was in was a strong lemon broth. You could hardly taste the clam flavor. Positives: The portions are large which given that I can eat a fair amount is saying something. The chickens wings were very good. They are in a teriyaki glaze (teriyaki is not Italian which is probably why it's good. The Carbonara was decent. The service was very good. Robin our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful. One of the things I appreciate in a restaurant is when everyone helps the other workers out. When our meals were ready, people other than our waitress brought it out which is great teamwork. Prices are acceptable. Unfortunately I wouldn't go back there if I wanted Italian. read more

This was a pleasant surprise! Not that I heard it wasn't anything but good - but it's a little out of town. It has always been packed when we've gone! My husband is Italian, but a only-orders-chicken-parm type of italian and I got him to try a bunch of things off the menu, that he really enjoyed. We took my parents there last week on their last night visiting us here from Utah, and not only was it slammed on a Tuesday night (we didn't wait long, it's obviously a very popular spot to have that happen) but the specials were fantastic.
