This is such a cool patio bar it gives off treehouse vibes as you have a view of being high up in trees from the patio. Such a lovely view. Real cool spot to kick back and relax. Board games available and they do bingo nights and other fun events. Drinks were good, service is good. Very spacious area. I've been to Patterson about 3-4 times now. The first was with my best friend when it first opened about 4-5 years ago. It was busy then and can still get busy on trivia/steak nights. It makes for a full parking lot. There's gravel lots added in the grassy area next to the concrete lot. You can get towed with the street parking. If you live nearby, you can also walk the trail along the bayou to get here the back way. I've done that trail from near Taylor and I-10 to here. The place itself is a cool treehouse concept. The stairs can be a little steep. The hazard tape is peeling, and the painted stairs can be slippery when raining. Be careful going down to the food truck or walking up/down to the top level. The top level has great views of the city/downtown. There's indoor seating with A/C and patio seating on all levels. When it rains though, inside is best. I've tried a variety of their cocktails and mocktails, and they're all pretty good. Bartenders are always friendly. Easy to place an order at the bar. I wish they had NA options from Ritual and Seedlip or something other than juices for their mocktails. Trivia nights are fun and busy. All size groups participate. Steak night is pricey compared to other Heights locations who offer it. It's about $10 more because the steak and side are separate, whereas other places give you the steak and 2 sides in the $20-25 range. Steak night here offers more variety though. You can either get ribeye, filet, salmon or shrimp brochette ranging from $17-28. Sides are $4. It's served by Culinary Creations by MER food truck. The steak and potatoes are flavored so well. I had the 14 oz ribeye because they ran out of 12 oz. It was a little hard to cut with plasticware. My friends' filets were easier to cut. For some reason, every time I try to upload the steak photo, it doesn't stay posted here. I get that it's from a food truck, but other food truck photos are posted on the Patterson page. You should see how great the steak looks. Patterson is a cool, chill place that everyone young and old can enjoy. You've been warned that this is a Philadelphia Eagles bar with the Eagles flag and swag displayed outside and inside. So if you root for any other NFC east teams, you may be met with some friendly hostility (depending how the birds are performing). With that said, the set up of the place has indoor high tops, lounging tables and couches, and outdoor seating with soft chairs/couches and tvs playing. There's also an upstairs area that gives an overview of the surroundings. As with most Houston bars in the Heights area, the focus is seasonal crafted cocktails. For the winter, there's a couple of good ones such as the grinch (cucumber, lime, mint, tequila) which is refreshing. The pumpkin ol fashion is also a popular one; sadly they're always sold out of it whenever I try to order it. Bartenders are attentive and do a solid job getting your drinks to you. As for food, there is a food truck outside with a rotation schedule on their website. Reminds me a lot of other bars in the Heights area with the set up, parking situation, and location. Patterson Park was an unexpected cool game watching spot. First, this is a Philadelphia Eagles bar so in game day expect there to a bunch of Green and black talk s$&itting go on. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar, but these plenty of seating everywhere with three stories to choose from. They had a decent cocktail selection for a sports bar. Pro tip- either come belly full, watch sports and drink/ or not. Or be open minded to choose from the few food tricks that they have on site. Not sure if they rotate them or not. Came here back in December 2023, just before Christmas. The place was all decked out in Christmas cheer. Including Christmas trees, drinks, staff, and lights. Located on the white oak bayou trail. It was a pretty large group of Yelpers + other folks that came here for some fun casual day drinking and celebrate the holidays. Sort of an informal UYE. We started out by the bar on the first floor, but eventually, our group went up to the tree house to perch out. It wasn't a super clear day, so views of skyline were just ok. Parking - I easily found parking, but I was there very early, way before the crowd. I like that they have a designated lot. If i return, it would be during daylight hours again, so I don't have to fight to figure out parking outside of the lot. Drinks - I like that they had a festive drink menu. My first drink was "Mrs. Clause", probably my favorite of the 3. My second drink, French 76B, is not on the seasonal menu, but on there regular menu. I know this is a little nitpicky, but all the pics from the reviews it seemed like a darker shade of purple than mine. Almost like I had too much champagne and not enough gin/lemon, so it wasn't as well balanced. My third drink was back to the seasonal menu, "It's Giving", it was fine, not as good as the first. I think all the drinks would be worth it for happy hour. Service - was fine. Different bartenders each time I ordered downstairs on the first level. No one stood out, but no one ruined the vibe either. My first bartender did offer suggestions, which I appreciated. The crowd picked up the longer we stayed. I like that they had a water cooler upstairs in the tree house, so we didn't need to ask for it, self-serve. Tons of in and outdoor seating all over the establishment. I would say great for groups. Overall, I think our group had a good time. Would I come back? Sure, if friends suggested it again. But with the caveat of during the day for ease of parking, to enjoy the patio and its outdoor activities. read more

I was visiting some friends in the Heights and we decided to finally check out Patterson Park. I waited till the hype died down before coming in. Like all reviews prior, parking was a little tricky even though we did find a spot in the lot. They do offer a discount if you bike in. I'm guessing that is their way to alleviate the parking issues and get people to return. Walking up, it really does looks like a tree house in the woods. Pretty cool. Customer service was so so. It took awhile to be acknowledged at the bar so we found seating outside and got help from our friendly, but slow waitress. They have multiple levels with seating. I'm not sure if their is service on the bottom level or does one have to go to the bar and order. The first level also had fun lawn games to play. It was too hot for that nonsense when we went. The second level, which I would say is the main level had a huge patio as well as a very nice inside bar. There is a third level with a nice deck as well. The patios are spacious and dogs are welcomed. I had the Bark Park Punch which was a frozen vodka or rum drink I believe. Flavor wise it was ok, but it definitely wasn't blended enough as I kept getting chunks of ice in every sip. My friends had similar situations with their frozen drinks, all of which were different. That made me not want to order anything else for the night. Overall, this is a pretty cool bar that I believe has potential to be great. If the parking, customer service and consistency of drinks improve, I would consider coming back. read more

A friend and I were looking for a casual patio bar to go to and decided we'd check out Patterson Park. Both the inside and the patio were already pretty busy when we arrived at about 6:30PM on a Friday evening but we were able to find two seats at the bar. It was still happy hour at 6:30 so we ordered two Deep Eddy's drinks with the bartender. The bartender working was quick to get us our drinks and was also very friendly! This is one of the dog friendly places I researched. One of my favorite places. We always go early to mid-afternoon so we've never encountered the parking or crowding problems others have mentioned. The employees have always been cordial. Not overly friendly but not standoffish either. They let you have your space but don't pester you. We take a dog or two. Sit up on the second floor where there's usually a breeze. We get the vegetation from the bayou behind and the spectacular view of downtown to the fore. Bartender lady makes a perfect Campari spritz. BF is not as picky as I am about what to drink but again is also harder to please, does this make sense? So I'll usually grab him a Crawford bock. Food trucks almost always have something I can eat (I'm celiac) and are almost always presenting tasty fare. If not, I can have french fries. If they have tacos, I've hit the jackpot. Sometimes there are other doggos to say hello to as well as their owners. Love this place. I think I'll go there tomorrow afternoon. Here's hoping there's a breeze. read more

Recently came here and had a great time with friends. The seasonal drinks (try the cider while its available) were so tasty! And the staff was very attentive. Parking is a little tight but for its location that kind of makes sense - there is some street parking nearby as well. Its more of a chill sports bar the drinks are pretty good and the staff was pretty attentive. They have a food truck rather than having food so there's that. We didn't spend much time inside since there was a football game on and it was packed. When we first came in we saw the food trucks out front and were carded to get in, which made me happy to know there wouldn't be kids (sorry! Lol). We kinda stood at the bar until someone gave us a drink menu vs being greeted but that's ok. The drinks were good. Once we got our drinks we went straight outside to the patio. There were tons of seating, large tvs, and heaters (cold day). A few little pups out there so dog friendly but no smoking which was another plus. I believe there was a downstairs area but we didn't go. We did go upstairs and it was a nice view of the city, a small bar and tables with seating, heaters and tvs. It was overall a positive experience and not a club bar vibe which was what we wanted, just a chill night. read more

Cute spot! Great view of the city from upstairs, dog friendly anywhere except inside. Will be interesting to see what they do with the upper deck, as it will soon be too hot to use. Could have had more tables upstairs, lots of space but you have to stand on the edge if you want to put your drink down. They had valet and a parking lot... but it was a mess. Love our new neighborhood bar! But I would highly encourage walking if you can, biking, or getting an Uber. They have bike racks and bikers get 10% off! Happy hour is from 2-7 PM and all drinks are $1 off. They haven't started their daily specials yet since they just opened yesterday. Parking spots are limited and it was SO packed by the time we left (around 6 pm). This is a huge and open spaced bar though. Hubby got some beers and I got the Schwayze and booker tea. Both were really good and refreshing on a hot day. The schwayze is basically an alcoholic Shirley temple and the booker tea is an alcoholic Arnold Palmer. They have food trucks set up outside everyday. Today we tried melt on wheels and that was tasty! Really solid grilled cheese sandwiches. It's hard to find many casual, dog-friendly patio bars that have a strong wine list (but are not exclusively a wine bar). There were definitely a few opening weekend hiccups. Parking and valet were a mess. There was limited parking and the valet were clearly overwhelmed. Patterson Park is a "cashless" establishment, but the valet they hired was "cash only." When I parked, they told me $20 but told my friend $10... and then ended up charging us nothing (we still tipped). Service was also quite slow and bartenders appeared to not be fully knowledgeable of the menu. Overall, I will definitely return... but I'll maybe wait a couple weeks until the parking & service glitches are more resolved. read more

We visited Patterson Park for a high school reunion. The restaurant is tucked back away from the freeway, but very easy to find and offers a ton of parking. The location is sort of separated into little areas, with plenty of seating and entertainment for patrons. We were lucky enough to have the upstairs available for our visit. The upstairs area is quite spacious and absolutely beatiful. On a nice clear day, you can see downtown in the distance. There are plenty of perfect spot(s) to take pictures with your friends. We sampled/enjoyed the: - Hibiscus Bees Knees - Burning bridges - Houston Maid I look forward to tasting their other adult beverages. They offer food truck meals near the front of the establishment. The service is promt and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Check the calendar before going as they rotate trucks. I hope you give Patterson Park a try and have a fanastic time. They also had plenty of heaters on the patio so we enjoyed our time without getting cold! Drinks were good, food was just okay (probably depends on which food trucks are there). I love stopping into this bar when I visit Houston! The rotating food trucks are awesome. The cocktails are delicious and their beer/seltzers are priced well. One of their bartenders, Malkolm, is my fav!! His recommendations are on point and he can make so many funky shots. It is a t.u bar, but I've never had issues as an Aggie when I've visited. I have been hearing about this place since they opened and in particular about how terrible parking is. Well, parking on a Saturday night was indeed terrible, but as it turns out, they give a 10% discount if you ride your bike there and it's right by the White Oak Bayou Greenway bike trail just past Shepard so when one of my groups was meeting there, I decided to ride my bike in 90+ degree weather in the evening and not deal with the parking. Given all the apartments and neighborhoods around the bike path, I thought the place would be full of bikes, but I was the only one who showed up with one and when I left, there were only 2 other bikes so apparently the memo hasn't gotten out about how bad the parking is and how you get a discount with a bike. Truth be told though, their bike racks are kind of small - like something you'd see at a kids' play ground but it's still easier than parking. In the bathroom, I saw a sign that said you can park in the parking lot of a orthopedic doctor nearby too so they're trying to make it work. It might also not be bad during the week. Anyway, enough about parking. They're trying to improve it. The staff there was really friendly from the door guy to the two bartenders I was dealing with. The place is beautiful and really does feel like being on a treehouse when you go up the stairs. When the weather cools off a little, it would be an excellent place to hang out and even in the summer you feel a nice breeze. I have to say though, I'm not a fan of the whole "No Cash" bar thing. It's not a good trend and without me getting into all the reasons I believe that, I rather pay cash when I'm at bars and I know a lot of bartenders appreciate cash more as well, but besides that, I like the place. read more

Great counter made margaritas. They have an impressive bar of liquor offerings with 'Tenders who know how to mix. Even loved the food truck offerings: The Melt on Wheels - satisfying and yummy grilled cheese platform sandwiches. The other...great Korean BBQ cheese but we could find a readable name on the truck but it was good! Both fast and hot and affordable. And g to be downtown views... Need I say more? This is a cute new spot that just opened up. There's seating in both the inside and outside, and even has rooftop seating. There are food trucks that serve a variety of food and I believe the food trucks change weekly. The drinks are A1 and are soooo tasty! I really enjoyed the rum punch with the splash of vanilla.
