Smothered pork chop with Mac and cheese and cabbage.

Stopped here over the weekend. Pleasantly surprised with the food. Good flavor. Service was great. Owner came out to greet us and thank us. The restaurant was clean. A little warm inside but otherwise a great experience.

Y'all, I had to come back and this time I brought my mom with me. Came EARLY at opening (11am) so we could make sure we'd be able to choose from the whole menu before they sell out of something (because they will). Spoke to Patrick (Pat), the owner and he said that Pat's Place has been in the works since 2018. He wanted to bring a restaurant to San Bernardino (in the hood) that would showcase the good and beautiful that the city has to offer. Just look at the beautiful building and landscaping. He did that and I'm so here for it all. This time I got those Oxtails everyone was buying up the last time I was here, with sides of Mac n cheese and green beans. I was also offered rice under the oxtails which sopped up that delicious gravy from the oxtails. Yes, it was all 10/10. Only small issue was the green beans still had the strings in them, but I'm not complaining. My second plate (cuz I'm greedy), I couldn't decide between the meatloaf and the smothered turkey leg. Patrick (owner) was kind and gave me a piece to try. It was delicious, but I figured I already had beef with the oxtails and so I'd go with the turkey. Smothered Turkey Leg I ordered with sides of greens and black eyed peas. This man cooks each dish with precision and just the right amount of flavor. I have NOT had one bad thing here. Even the cornbread is . My mom got the smothered turkey leg also and she devoured it! She said it was so good. She's already thinking ahead to Thanksgiving and wondering if Pat's Place will be catering. She also ordered a plate of just sides: black eyed peas, green beans, cabbage, and collard greens. I didn't event get a picture of her plate cuz it was gone before I knew it. We got a side of the peach cobbler. It was warm and for all you crust people...yes, it had a top and bottom pie crust! A scoop of vanilla ice cream would have just set the whole thing off. Anyway, this is definitely my go-to Sunday eating spot, cuz I'll be coming back week after week. It's that good and bonus is that it's close to home. Pat, I'll see ya again next week or maybe sooner.

This place is amazing. The food is on point. The service is amazing. Large portions.... Ox tails falling off the bone, fried Cat fish, smothered Pork chops to die for. Check them out. You wont be disappointed.

When I arrived at Pat's Place, I immediately noticed a sign outside listing the daily specials, which was very convenient. As I walked in, I could see all the food freshly prepared and ready to be ordered. The atmosphere felt welcoming right away. I noticed the owner, Pat, engaging in friendly conversation with customers who were already enjoying their meals. When he saw me, he warmly welcomed me and came straight over to assist me. Since it was my first time visiting, he kindly offered to let me sample a few different dishes, which I really appreciated. I ordered the meatloaf as my entrée, which came with two sides and cornbread. I chose candied yams and collard greens. The meatloaf was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, topped with a rich, savory gravy. The collard greens were perfectly seasoned--I added a bit of their hot sauce, which took them to the next level. The candied yams were amazing: soft, sweet, and coated in a delicious glaze. I also loved the cornbread; it paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious, and the owner's hospitality made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend Pat's Place and look forward to coming back!

I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Pat's place after church on Sunday. It was the first time I've been there. The macaroni and cheese is especially good. I had smothered chicken over rice which was very tasty. It just a small place with only two tables to sit inside most people take it to go home. The servers were professional and friendly. It was definitely good experience and now plan to be back there and try some of the other delicious looking dishes definitely recommend to stop here.

We've tried a lot of Soul Food spots and most have their own take on soul food. We saw this spot passing by and decided to U-turn so we could add it to our list of whether to return or avoid. We plan on returning!! We ordered the fried catfish plate which came with a corn bread muffin and choice of two sides, we went with green beans and mac & cheese. We also ordered a side of collard greens to try along with every desert they had to offer except for the sweet potato pie. The fried catfish was fresh and very good (definitely recommend)! The green beans were delicious, the mac & cheese was also good. The greens were good to me, but my kids think it's an acquired taste in order to enjoy it (whatever), it was still good. I would've loved to give Pat's Soul Food 5 stars, but the deserts were what prevented that. The cheesecake, chocolate cake, and lemon cake tasted like something you'd buy at the store. The peach cobbler was delicious, would've went great if it were topped with whipped cream or came with ice cream. Other than that, this place is worth the stop if you're craving soul food. The women there were friendly and cheerful, more reason to stop by!! Go see for yourself :)

Staff is very friendly and helpful. It was our first time to try this place. The gentleman gave us free samples. We tried pretty much everything in their menu. We got oxtail with a side of greens and rice, Fried chicken and a side of mac& cheese and rice, fried Catfish with sides of mashed potatoes and Mac &cheese. They were all so flavorful and it was delicious. The restaurant is a bit small, they have 2 booths to sit. Over all it was a good experience and will definitely recommend to friends and will be coming back for more.

Food was delicious! Staff was very friendly, and welcoming, " They even let me sample everything before ordering" place was clean! My only knock is that for the price they were slightly skimpy on the servings.. just my opinion, but quality wise it was phenomenal, I would highly recommend, will definitely be back!

Greens, yams, oxtail with rice and gravy

It's very rare that I find a restaurant that can make good greens. I had the oxtails with rice greens and yams. All were delicious but I have to shout out to whoever makes the greens. Staff was also kind. Place was clean and not run down looking like a lot of places in the area.

The wait was gonna be something like 45 minutes to an hour, so we had to keep it moving. Fast forward to this past weekend and I stopped by after getting my hair done. Anyway, I ordered a ton of food because we wanted to try everything. We got the $10 chicken wing dinner with rice and gravy and potato salad. I got the catfish fillet with mac & cheese and candy yams. My husband got the sweetie fish with the greens and black eyed peas. We also got a side of baked beans. I really enjoyed the catfish and the fried chicken great flavor there. My husband loved his sweetie fish. People complain about the cheesiness of the mac, but I was OK with it. Sometimes mac & cheese doesn't have to be an overly cheesy mess. It was good. I would get it again. Now the candy yams were mushy and lacked the traditional sweetness, maybe I would get that again, but I guess they're good if you're watching your caloric intake, which is a bit of an oxymoron when talking about soul food. Baked beans and greens were both a thumbs up for me. I liked the rice and gravy also. The potato salad has mustard which I'm not a fan of, but my husband enjoyed it. All in all with everything we got we were really happy and satisfied. The price for all of that?? $48!! Super affordable and great quality. The staff were patient and extremely friendly. It felt like I had stopped off at a cousin's house.

The mac and cheese was creamy and actually had flavor--not bland like some places. Yams were sweet and balanced, and the portions were solid. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. You can tell this is the kind of food that's meant to be comforting and filling. Service was friendly and the vibe was laid back, nothing fancy but it works. If you're in the area and craving real comfort food, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. I'd come back.

Virgina, Chris, and Jax are all amazing and we continue to go back for them. However, we dined in the bar yesterday and it was just a subpar experience. My mother had a drink at the bar, which was good, before going to a bar table. The server gave her attitude and kept questioning if people were going to "really" be meeting her here. My mother was alone, but she wasn't trying to take a 6 top, it was a four seater booth and the lounge was half empty. When we joined my mother, the server was not in much better of a mood, and it didn't seem to improve the entire time we were there. My husband's steak was practically raw. I ordered a fresh mex bowl with no pico, as I have a contact allergy. Imagine my surprise when my mouth started burning and tingling because there was pico in my bowl. The kids food was fine, we cleaned up the majority of the mess left behind by our child, but the whole experience made me not want to return for awhile.

First they were out of broccoli. Okay. I ordered a salad in it's place. I also get free chips and dip, so we ordered that also. When I got my steak it had a lot of fat in it. I rarely send food back but this wasn't acceptable. It went back. I asked for sour cream for my potatoes. I was told it would be a $1. Fine. They brought out about a teaspoon size serving of sour cream. Really? ImentionedthatIdidn'tgetbroccoli. Iwasstillcharged. They also brought me a sirloin steak to replace the ribeye. They adjusted the price. It was so so. I guess I'll stick to burgers at Chili's. When I got the bill it was higher than I expected. They forgot to take off the $8 for the chips and charged me full price for the salad and the $1 for sour cream. I hit the 20% for the tip. Then I looked at it. My bill was $42.85. They figured a 20% tip was $16.75. Oh hell no. I called my server over and pointed this out to her. I got the feeling she was embarrassed by it but not sure it wasn't because they got caught. I told her that was the same as stealing and I hate being stolen from. I told her I wasn't blaming her but it was bullshit. She took the tip off and I just gave her a cash tip. I should have taken a picture of the receipt but it was on the thing on the table and I was so pissed off I forgot. I wonder how many people just pay the higher bill without looking at the tip. I'm going to contact corporate about this. They better do something. I'm going to tell everyone to look at the tip on the receipt to make sure they aren't over charged.
