I am a old backyard mechanic in 50's year age. not a SAE Certified Mechanic. Worked 1990 to 1996 at Sunoco 3 Bays (one could supply MA State Inspection stickers or for regular quick work while no one using ( its an extended bay for adjustment of low and high beam lights for optimum performance. And we would adjust them for free unless it was rotted etc... . I used everything , only me ,no friends they were not insured. , because I was Insured Like the mechanics and boss as a result of working there. Filling Gas and really helping out with mechanical issues of cars and light trucks on lifts every day. I was treated 5 star. We were always busy ,We didn't screw up ,overprice, squeeze people, etc... 3 mechanics and me. I moved, and met the locals who also perform well as Mechanics and fair pricing when we do it ourselves. It's True what my talented mechanic friend told me if I needed someone when I couldn't do it at the time or more complicated " There Honest " And spot on the price and telling it exactly as it is. I'm assuming that because I told him I was moving to Florida, they thought they could take advantage of me and didn't replace anything and charged me. I love Pat's and I'll never take my car anywhere else. Pat's is the only completely honest place I've ever been to. I don't know much about cars and really... Sometimes I feel like I walk into a garage and dollar signs light up in their eyes because they know I don't have a clue.
