Good service and they were able to find the problem with my car. I thought it was the exhaust that was loud, but I apparently needed new bearings in my passenger side wheel. The parking situation is not great there though... they are crammed into a residential section (and the shop is so small that I almost passed it by). I ramdomly called them as I was at a work event from out of State and my old Saturn VUE was driving labored that as thought it could be low on transmission fluid. It was super hot out and at 4:10 in afternoon to drop what he was doing and try to temporarily fix the issue so I could make the drive back home was a caring gesture. He gave me water and it was obvious he wanted to ensure I was treated with care. I asked how much do I owe you, he said you're all set and just get home safe. My story with Trudeau's began through Yelp less than two years ago. I was freshly moved into the area and I needed auto repair. The dealership can be too costly. I searched yelp and I chose to go to Trudeau. I have been there twice now. The second time that I went there I asked to repair part of my suspension. They did so. A little over one year, I revisited the shop again for the same issue. It was a part malfunction. The rule is that when it has been over one year, the labor is charged, but the part is free. I brought them the car and quickly fixed the issue. Meaning they bumped my car ahead of others. And the car was worked on the day after I learned of the issue. After the work, Ron said no charge for the labor. The exchange was free. I am grateful for their kindness, their work and their customer service. Now I understand that one post will not make or break a business, but it did help me to find them. Before I had learned of the free exchange I told my Lyft driver, who is local, that it is a good shop. He had asked my thoughts of the business. He said that he had great things of the shop. Called before they opened and told them my steering wheel was loose after hitting a pot hole, he said to come right in when they opened. I didn't realize my control was down caused from the big pothole I hit. Why I am writing this is because of the honesty and great customer service. I know I could of easily been taken advantage somewhere but at Trudeaus he set it for me and I was able to leave and not being charged anything. When I first started driving oh so long ago (1996), I went to the mechanic my mom had been going to for *years* even though they were kind of far away. Right down the street from where I lived, and staffed by awesome people. Bob and Ron are top friggin notch, both as mechanics and as people. I've gotten to know them over the years and the amount of stuff they do in the community is amazing. They always ask about me and how I'm doing, make sure to get updates on things. Also? The entire team at Trudeau was amazing! My Nissan had a huge job that needed to be done. Don (I think that was the gentleman's name) handled the repair beautifully! He kept me posted about my truck the entire time. He even did extra research to make sure he didn't over price me. Because the heated core came in a kit with other pieces (a/c adaptors, etc) from the dealer it put the entire kit in and pieces that are still good he packed for me and put it in my truck so if anymore issues I will have the other parts and he will just replace them if needed. He also replaced hoses, antifreeze and extras that he didn't even charge me for. Everyone was extremely sweet and got my truck in and out. Called for a quote for my 2007 pt cruiser, needs timing belt and water pump replacement. I was quoted $1,233.00 which is pretty much what my car cost. They said 9 hours of labor plus cost of parts. The labor cost is about or just under 7 hours. cost to replace water pump would be another .5 hour cam and crank seal and tensioner another .5 hour plus associated parts So that would be about 8 hours of work. Even if the hourly labor rate was $100.00, the timing belt kit cost $191.50, that would be the most $1,000.00. That's on the high end, so where that price (1,233.00) comes from beats me. I may be young (20) but I do my research for this reason right here. Learn your lesson "Trudeau's" just because a person is younger with less experience DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN PLAY THEM OUT OF THEIR MONEY. read more
