I was given a drug for an illness I never had and my heart stopped keeping me there for 20 days. This happened in 2009. This month I had chest pain and the doctor could "tell by looking" I didn't have a heart attack and chose not to order any tests only to lie and say I refused them. Not to mention you will wait for hours and they may or may not help you. If you escape alive the bill will be off the charts. MW has a 3o minute wait period and better beds.

I would like to especially point out the Cardiac Care Unit who provided my care for 7 days after my bypass. They were all fantastic making sure I was well cared for. To them it is a job they do very well. To me they were a lifeline making my recovery bearable. Between the surgeons and nurses at McKenzie Heart Group and the nurses and doctors in the Cardiac Care Unit it is no wonder they are one of the top heart groups in the United States and only one of three in Oregon to be rated a 3 star group which is the highest rating. You will be in good hands if you let them take care of you.

The hospital is in a nice location and we appreciated having sunlight and views. But the hospital is bad with communicating with each other and with us family members, bad with paperwork and legal bureaucracy, bad with computers. I watched my brother writhing in pain for 45 minutes while a nurse couldn't get the computer to allow the next dose of pain meds to come through. Eventually a pharmacy worker came up and they stood around the computer going, "Huh! That's interesting. Never seen that before." I had to file my power of attorney documents multiple times. "Maybe you should file it again with us in person," one guy said. I had already filed it, in person, at their front desk, and even had the receipt for it. The real hands-on medical staff was focused on my brother's basic health needs to some degree, and I am thankful for the medical professionals who saved his life. The hospital SYSTEM only cared about getting my brother out of his hospital bed as soon as possible, into some other kind of care facility, even though he'd caught a new bacterial infection while in their hospital.

I was taken care of and the problem I had was taken care of by the doctors and nurses. The last few months I was at the hospital due to blocked arteries which caused me to have a triple bypass, heart shocked twice, an ablation, and finally a pacemaker implanted. After my bypass I ended up in the Cardiac Care Unit where I was taken care of by the most professional caring doctors and nurses. It was like my comfort and recovery were the most important task they had. It is no wonder that they and the doctors and nurses at the McKenzie Heart Group are a level 3 star for patient care and outcomes. My understanding is that is the highest level attainable and there are only 3 in all of Oregon. Two in Portland and one at McKenzie-Willamette hospital with the McKenzie Heart group. You couldn't do any better than them for your heart care especially if you need bypass surgery.

Before I go…read moreany further I would like to state first and foremost that I am a Latina / Chicana and it is very obvious that im brown. When i see people throwing the race card around i did not have any experience from the staff here i was here from Thursday 9/24 until 9/28, 2026 i felt absolutely cared for and respected!! Trust me i personally know what racism looks and feels like and i didnt have any of that the entire time i was there!! All the nurses and aides, respiratory therapists Robert & D dont wanna get his name wrong but he'll know it's him cuz I told him n I would call him that!! They were excellent at their jobs and I got my breathing g treatments every 4 hours!! Christine on Thursday was absolutely amazing and very sweet. Christine was one of the first people I met when I was rolled up to the 3rd floor. She was amazing before her shift was over clearly explained everything to me. How they were gonna make sure to help me get my breathing on track and I would be there all weekend!! I appreciated that because honestly I thought i was going to die!! To the all the people who helped me i cant thank you enough for your genuine caring and compassion. I feel grateful and want you all to know that u helped save my life!! With all the blood draws, and constant care I see how hard u all work and how busy u all are!! I especially want to thank the lady whose favorite color is orange of any shade!! I forgot her name but she was such a beautiful warm and friendly nurse. She had went to Greece with her husband for their 30 year anniversary. What a great lady .!! Amazing. So as u can tell i was in contact with a diverse group of caregivers and was well tooken care of. So was the lady I shared a room with . Anyway the weekend day I think NP was also amazing . She was great. For 4 days of great care I am breathing better and alive to talk about it!! THANK U ALL SO MUCH!!! Really quick like this isnt the only experience I've had here this is my go to hospital because it beats the alternative!! So please dont assume oh I've been here one time and dont know what im talking about. One more thing as we all know Dr's aren't passing out opiates and those type of pain pills like they used to, it is just the way it is these days. I am not implying that every one is drug seeking by any means but we all know they are out there. Laws have changed and no doctor wants to lose his career or license by passing out opiates like candy!! Times have changed . Rules and laws have to be followed!! Say what u want im just stating the facts!! Anyway I hope get the same great care I have experienced!! WRITTEN BY ABBY YOUNG,

He said we can do a lessor strength. He wanted me on a statin, which was expected. I told him I tried a statin before and experience muscle pain. Again he mentioned a lower dose. I agreed to trying a lower dose. I left feeling satisfied that my concerns were addressed. By the time I got home the pharmacy had my prescriptions ready. After standing in line for 20 mins it was my turn. Two prescriptions, no cost. All positive energy hmming along. I get home and open the pharmacy bag and retrieve my two prescriptions. They were both the exact same prescriptions, same strength I had previously! i send him a message expressing my disappointment. I had also brought with me to the appointment two months of daily bp readings that he never looked at. In his reply, he defended the prescriptions he wrote and acted like his opinion shouldn't be challenged. Shortly after that I found a new doctor. A young female who listened to me.
I've seen multiple providers at Springfield Family Physicians and have always had excellent…read moreexperiences. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Jason Keister was the complete opposite. During my appointment on August 16, 2024, he told me that I had a "small heart attack," but that it was "very small" and not to worry. He then sent a cardiology referral based on that statement. Later, when I reviewed my medical chart, I found three question marks (???) next to my diagnosis with no explanation. When I requested a correction to my record and asked him to clarify what he meant, he suddenly changed the story. He denied ever mentioning a heart attack and replaced the question marks with "TIA," which has nothing to do with cardiology or the reason for the referral. This did not reflect what was actually communicated to me and only created more confusion. I've had nothing but great experiences with other doctors in this clinic, so this was shocking and disappointing. In my personal experience, Dr. Keister was careless, contradictory, and dismissive, and I would not recommend him to anyone who needs clear communication or accurate documentation. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions about their care.

Calling the Riverbend office for a sleep consultation, I encountered the following problems:…read more1) OLS's scheduler (Tara) gave me the info that all their providers were within network of my specific health plan. 2) I called my health plan to verify. They said they needed the name of the specific doctor in order to verify he/she was within network. 3) I called OLS back. The grumpy scheduler said she could not tell me which doctor I'd be seeing, because they had five. OLS could not email me the names of their sleep doctors. She had to dictate the doctors last names over the phone and omitted their first names. The names were not easy to spell or for me to record and she seemed impatient with me. 4) I then called my insurance company who said one doctor was not in network on my plan and two other names were not verifiable as I had not been given the doctors first names. This scheduler must make these appointments and give insurance information all day long, but still hadn't the wits or desire to provide complete information (i.e. the complete doctors' names), so I had to call her back yet again. 5) Talking with their office manager was not productive. She only responded that this was my insurance company's fault! She did not address OLS' antiquated and illogical scheduling procedure, or her staff members' irritability. OLS's scheduling process required me to make six phone calls just to get an appointment! Given that OLS provided wrong information about my insurance coverage, was brusque and irritable with me on the phone when spelling the doctors' names, and that they can't email out (which might impact future communications with them), I decided to find another sleep clinic instead. Communicating with this office was not conducive to building trust in OLS as a medical provider.

I happy stayed with Prevention Plus after Dr Erde became the primary physician: Dr Erde has been my primary care physician since then. I am 58 and in good health. I recently called to schedule a general wellness physical and was told I was no longer a patient of Prevention Plus Clinic. The reason I was given "You have not been seen in 3 years". I now, at 58 years of age find myself without a primary care physician. My biggest complaint with this situation is I was never informed I was being removed as a patient of Dr Erde. As a patient I have the right to change PCPs and physicians have the right to fire patients. But should not a physician you trust with your health have some loyalty to you as a patient over what $ you bring to the practice. I see Dr Erde is advertising for new patients; although I like Dr a Erde, I can not recommend you join her practice unless you can add a financial value to her practice. Richard Drasye RN
