What a practitioner!…read more Dr. Woodrow is a no-nonsense outright master of her craft. Medical Osteopaths who specialize in and are excellent at manipulation and cranial work are not common! Dr. Woodrow's knowledge is vast and her experience extensive, she has trained with many of the lineage carriers of these esoteric traditions. While many "alternative healthcare" paradigms often feel unmoored and metaphorical, Dr Woodrow's touch carries a palpable authority whose effect is immediately felt in the different systems she deftly navigates. Thorough and effective. Wise and powerful.

I saw her initially because I was exhausted from gut-associated panic episodes which severely limited my ability to exercise. She works deeply, attentively, responsively and quietly. After a few months of treatment, my body began to come back into equilibrium and I regained my ability to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. It was like getting out of captivity! An added benefit: her warm and humorous receptionist Teri serves as a discreet gatekeeper for each session - I always look forward to our hello's. Though I have gone well past the point of healing from the issues that first led me to Dr. Rochette, I continue to see her regularly because of a remarkable shift in paradigm: I have come to see through this work that beyond learning to listen to the body, I have become aware that the body itself is listening.

It has been many years since I was treated by Joe. At times he seemed to go far beyond what one…read morewould normally expect from a practitioner, but he also seemed extraordinarily thin-skinned and threatened to stop treating me a couple of times because he imagined some kind of danger where none existed. What ultimately happened was far more disturbing. I was bedridden, extremely vulnerable, and during one treatment I opened up emotionally while he was working with me. Nothing I shared was unusual or inappropriate. He walked out of the room. I assumed he had gone to put coins in the parking meter, but he never came back. Afterward, he never responded to my emails or phone calls. I was desperate for some explanation and closure after being left that exposed, and at the time I still wanted him to continue working with me. I have lived with a complex structural medical problem for many years and have encountered a great deal of cruelty and unprofessional behavior, but Joe's conduct still stands out. Abandoning a bedridden patient in an acutely vulnerable moment without a word, and then refusing all communication, was profoundly cruel, immature, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I also think this reflects on the practice as a whole. I wish Mari provided better professional guidance to ensure that a patient was never treated this way. There are many glowing reviews here, and perhaps others had very different experiences. This was mine, and after all these years I believe it deserves to be part of the record.

I met her over 12 years ago and found her again when I moved back to the bay; she has helped facilitate major healing and transformation in my life, on all fronts. Dr. Brown's attitude is clear, straight, and unemotional in a good way. I had two sessions before yesterday and prior to yesterday left wondering what if anything was accomplished. Yesterday after a 45 minute session, I was absolutely astounded at my body's response to her treatment. She replied that in a way she didn't do anything except listen to my body, and assist in it's own healing of itself. I left in a wondrous state of consciousness: one of clarity and openness with my body literally breathing itself. I could feel my breath and for lack of a better word, my life force or chi running from my feet to my head as if traveling through an empty bamboo flute. My neck and back hurt as always but somehow I sensed that the "life force" was now accessible to those areas that had been blocked. I could easily go on and on here for the experience was totally different from my mind's "evaluation" of her treatment. What I can say is that I have found a true healer in Dr. Brown - a person that intuitively senses the body, respects it's current state, and somehow encourages it to let go of holding and withdrawal and then allow it's own innate wisdom to heal itself. Dr. Brown is the midwife holding the space and encouraging all to happen in it's own time with it's own wisdom. What a difference from standard allopathic medicine where it is the practioner that thinks they know what is best rather than myself. I encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful healer - and stick with her as if you are at all like me, it takes a few visits to realize that real healing is actually happening. Ten Stars!

Nina Birnbaum is an outstanding person? And an outstanding doctor!…read more I made an instant connection with her the first time I met her: she is an excellent listener, asks very good questions, is well-connected, and a superior team-builder. When I came to her I had just finished up with several bouts of pancreatitis - very painful. Three doctors before her had left medical practice during a period of intense change for physicians. I asked her to promise me she would not leave; a rediculous thing to ask but just to say how scared and desperate I felt. I am now older and need more specialists, but she has been with me to help build that team. She is incredibly smart and has diagnosed a number of my situations just by listening to my descriptions (and then getting confirmation). She is kind... so kind. And she tells the truth. I am not afraid of dying, but I really don't like loss of control. Which means having a doctor who is honest with me and treats me like a partner in addressing my medical concerns. I hope Nina will remain my doctor for the rest of my lifetime...

Called and the receptionist gave me the info, said Dr. Kaplan "was a very busy man" but would schedule an appointment and come to our house! And the cost would be billed to our insurance with a "follow up/Booster" visit included. All went as promised. Dr. Kaplan came to our house, did his hypnosis, and it didn't change anything. My OB recommended that I call him for a follow-up. Calling the number he gave me, I got another gentleman on the phone who said Dr. Kaplan was unavailable, but would give him my message. Another two phone calls later, Dr. Kaplan was MIA!!!!! I still had to go through other channels to manage the sickness. He never called back, never followed up or expressed concern for my health as a patient of his. But get this....10 months after that, I get a phone call from out of the blue from his receptionist, saying that my insurance company had mailed me a check, and we had an outstanding balance with them.....huh? As I was out of town, I eventually rang and left a message for her, saying that was impossible. Our insurance would NEVER do that. I gave her my information again. I also brought up that Dr. Kaplan never offered to get in touch with me for a follow-up that was inclusive of his services. Then the story changed. I get another phone call saying that now, supposedly, my insurance company denied the claim (10 months ago), supposedly sent me a statment saying that (10 months ago) and she apologized for her mis information. She also said that I should take up the complaint about Dr. Kaplan not calling me back with (wait for it....) Dr. Kaplan. I should call him and leave a message asking him to call me back about why he never called me back. Genius, eh? Poor accountability to patients, no interest in their well-being, poorly managed accounts and I'm wondering, if she ever even attempted to get in touch with my insurance company in the first place. As for Dr. Kaplan, I hope he can do self-hypnonsis to find out what he did with my phone messages. Very expensive snake-oil salesman.....
